When someone wins the Reader's Choice Award, this is a permanent award. It cannot be revoked, but you can blatantly plug it in a TV commercial. The winning authors and stories will be listed here and in a separate section (since this part goes away from time to time). The award itself will also appear in the author's section, next to the winning story. That way, anyone who comes into that author's section will see that this story was selected and voted by his or her peers as being one of the best among them. Should you win, be humbled that your peers think so highly of you.

There are a couple of ground rules, but it's nothing too serious:

• Don't nominate your own story. I only say that because this more of where your peers are recognizing the work you've done, not you recognizing yourself for what you've done. And if you don't recognize yourself, try removing the fake beard and moustache.



• Nominate the story, not the author. This is pretty self-explanatory. But do include the author's name, so I know where to find it.



• Nominate only one story per nomination form. This means don't put multiple fanfics that you want to nominate in one form to "save time." It won't work because when I get the nomination, there's additional coding that helps me add your nominations in more effeciently. Putting in multiple nominations like that only messes it up and I will invalidate the nomination(s).



• A fanfic does not have to be complete to be nominated. If you like a fanfic, there's certainly no reason it cannot be nominated; finished or not.



• Any fanfic that has won this award is ineligible to win again. However, any other fanfic that was written by the same author is eligible for nomination and possible winning of the RCA.



• DO NOT FLOOD ME with nominations for one author. We have a lot of talented authors here, but don't try to convince me that if this author has six *really awesome* fanfics that they should be all nominated. I won't buy it. Pick one or two of your favorites. Besides that, flooding me with the fanfics of one author might force other author nominations to not make onto the voting poll. Also, this is considered spamming and I will invalidate any further nominations from that person -- and yes, I CAN track you. So please, *think* about the nomination, then do it.

I hope the rules are clear. If not, just contact me and I'll clarify any questions you have. I may have to adjust these rules, pending new information, but that's highly doubtful. So get out there and read some fics! Nominate a story you really like, then vote on it!

Be sure to read all the nominated fanfics, so that you give a fair vote to all of them!
