Sorry
about deleting this again, but it seemed like I was copying the episode
"the Khangaskan kid. I didn't want to do that. I
wanted this to be original. So here goes my third try on this original
character pokemon fiction.
My name is Caroline May Stanford, and this is my story. Think this is another
boring trainer growing up story? Well you're wrong because I am a special
trainer. Not because of the many pokemon I have
captured (at last count over 300) or that I am the youngest league champion,
(of all four leagues, pokemon master, and gym leader
since Ash Ketchum. No, what makes me special is that I did all of this while
being blind. But I am getting ahead of myself. I should start at the beginning.
I was born to international beauty queen Darlene Stanford,
no one knew who my father was. My mother gave me up for adoption after learning
that I had inherited a rare genetic disorder that would eventually render me
blind. I spent 3 years in the orphanage before my world finally went dark.
After two years of help from teachers and the director of the orphanage I was
able to get around using my other senses, when I walked places I no longer
bumped into people or things. I had been through meeting 10 different families
before the director was okay with me disappearing into the woods that
surrounded the orphanage whenever a new family came through. No one wanted to
adopt a blind child. Today was different however as the forest was silent,
usually Pidgey would come out to greet me on my walk
but today they were nowhere to be heard. Then as I moved farther into the
forest than I had been before I heard something whining. I walked closer to the
sound and.SNAP! Something had caught my cane, when I
bent down I felt metal teeth and instantly I knew
"Poachers!"
I hated poachers, they were worse than Team Rocket because at least Team Rocket
would use the pokemon they caught on their teams, but
poachers would take pokemon, kill them and sell their
hides, claws, teeth and eyes to foreign investors. The trap felt rusty, so I did
not think that there were any poachers in the area and if there had been they
were long gone. Reaching down, I picked up a rock, and placed it down on the
opening I had managed. I pulled my stick free just as the trap snapped closed
once again.
"That was a neat trick human. Are you going to free me just to take my
life? I wish that trap had kept you as well as it has me."
"Who said that?"
"Can you understand me human? Interesting, I thought all of the Dragon
Knights were long dead. Come closer."
"Where are you? What do you mean Dragon Knights?"
"Can you not see me human? I'm right in front of you."
"No, I'm blind, I can't see anything."
The voice was silent for a few minutes then "I don't believe it, you are
one of the old ones. Well just keep walking straight and you'll bump right into
me."
I did as the voice said, I was curious now as to whom I was talking to and what
Dragon Knights were. I reached forward and felt a cold nose underneath my hand,
I felt downward, fur and powerful muscles were revealed
as I walked along. Finally I felt down and felt the metal trap enclosed around
a humungous paw. I pulled down on the trap, pushing one end down with my cane,
the thing caught burst free and I pulled back. Satisfied that I had prevented
poachers from taking another life I turned to face where I believed the thing
to be.
"Well now that's done, I say introductions are in order, my name is
Caroline, but you can call me Carol. What's your name?"
"My name is Darkfire, I never expected to be
bonded to a human, but I guess this is for the best."
"What do you mean bonded? And you still haven't explained what Dragon
Knights are."
Darkfire "It's a long story..you'd better get comfortable."
