I own none of the characters in this fanfic. Pokemon and its
characters are owned in some way by Nintendo, Game Freak, Creatures,
and 4Kids Entertainment.
This is Based on the Hanna-Barbera special that appeared on ABC in
1971, "A Christmas Story" (which also aired at 7:30 EST on Cartoon
Network this past Monday), not the movie of the same name.
======================================================================
Narrator: As we continue with our story, Ash has just found out that
Pikachu's Christmas wish list had not been mailed, so Ash has abruptly
left his friend Misty at the Ketchum Home to do so.
(Post office. Ash has just arrived there, and is very exhausted. The
time is 11:42 PIST, and the PO is about to close. Ash runs up to the
postal counter.)
Ash: (still panting) Is there anyway that you can get this letter up
to the North Pole before midnight?
(The Postal Clerk stares at Ash for a moment, and laughs
hysterically.)
Ash: (dumbfounded) Was it something I said?
Postal Clerk: Sorry, kid. You're way too late! Express delivery
ended yesterday. And Besides, Santa's already beginning his
shift!
Ash: (in melancholy) Oh.. I see. Well, thanks, anyway.
Narrator: Meanwhile, back at the Ketchum Home....
(Misty has just awakened from her second nap. She heads downstairs
to wake up Ash, but notices that he has left a note in his place.)
Misty: (Reading the letter)
"Dear Misty:
Sorry for suddenly leaving, but I've forgotten to mail Pikachu's
wish list to Santa. I'll be back soon.
Ash"
Misty: I guess that he'll be back soon. Speaking of Pikachu, I
better wake him and Togepi up.
(A few minutes later, Ash appears in the doorway of the house.
Misty hears the door open and comes down with Togepi in her
hands.)
Misty: Did you get it there in time?
Ash: Yeah, but they wouldn't be able to get it up there in time.
Misty: Oh. Sorry 'bout that.
Ash: It's okay, Misty. I'll be back out tonight after the party
to find Santa.
Misty: After the party? Do you know how cold that it's gonna be
tonight? It's not worth freezing your butt off to get that
letter to Santa.
Ash: Maybe you don't think so, but I do. I can't stand to think
of Pikachu not getting anything for Christmas. If I don't get
this letter to Santa, Pikachu will be heartbroken. Maybe worse-
he may not believe in Santa Claus anymore. (Stands in his
determination stance) I can't let that happen!
Misty: Ash, that's crazy; that's outrageous, that's out-of-mind...
Can I tag along?
Ash: You.. wanna come?
Misty: I'm not gonna stay in this house and watch you freeze to
death. I'm coming with you!
Ash: You really wanna come? I mean.. you said it's gonna be
pretty cold out there...
Misty: Forget what I said! You're not going out there alone!
Ash: Okay, if you say so...
Misty: I mean it, Ash. I understand how you feel. If it means
going out in sub-zero temperatures, frigid wind chills, and
several feet of snow, just for Pikachu's happiness, I'm in.
(Ash hugs Misty fiercely)
Ash: I owe you big time for this, Misty.
Misty: Don't worry about it, Ash.
Ash: We just can't let Pikachu know of the bad news.
Misty: (whispering) Don't worry, I won't tell him.
Ash: Why are you whispering, Misty?
Misty: (whispering) 'Cause Pikachu's coming!
Ash: Oh....
(Pikachu runs down the stairs and into Ash's arms)
Ash: Hey Pika-pal! How are ya?
Pikachu: Pika pika (Just fine. And You?)
Ash: I'm okay. Ready for the party tonight?
Pikachu: Pika pi! (Most definitely!)
Togepi: Toge priii! (Me too!)
Narrator: Will Ash & Misty be able to keep this bit of news
from Pikachu's pointy ears? And will Ash be able to find
Santa? These and other questions will be answered in the
next installment of.....
A Pokemon Christmas Story!
