Ashura felt a burning sensation. He opened his eyes to see the he was out in the sun. Screaming, he ran to the safety of a nearby cave. His scream awoke his companions. Satoshi looked around at Ashura. Silly vampire!
"Satoshi, where are we? Anywhere close to that Xatu Shannara was talking about?" Ash asked, dazed at his dimensional trip.
Satoshi scanned the area, looking for the bird. He might be insane, but he wasn't stupid. He suddenly realized where they were. "We're in the Fire Mountains. Home of the imperial Charizard."
Ashton looked around, growling softly. Ashton was the only one out of the group who acted this way. He had quick reflexes, and a sharp mind. But there was something out of place, something that didn't seem normal for a human. Ashton was very weird indeed.
As soon as night came, the band followed Satoshi to the Psychic Plateau, which was ten miles away. Sensing time to ask about Satoshi's land, Ashura spoke up.
"What did Shannara mean by, 'a dimension of slavery'? Satoshi, what did she mean?"
Satoshi looked into the night sky, as if he didn't hear Ashura's questions. Still looking at the sky, he answered:
"After I became the Pokemon Master, Lugia and Ho-oh became possessed by their darker halves. Being the leaders of all Pokemon, they sought to enslave the human race. Every Pokemon had to follow their orders. Pokemon that had been trainer or had disagreed was eliminated. My Pokemon were not spared. Lugia used Dark Hyperbeam against them. All humans were then capture and forced to mine the lands of Kanto and Johto for evolution stones. As far as I know, I'm the only human to still be free. All I need to do is get the left eye of a Xatu and send myself back in time to stop them. Maybe I can use the other eye of that Xatu that we're looking for..."
Satoshi's tale struck awe into Ash. Whatever the cost, he was willing to help free them.
It was midnight when they reached the Plateau. Good thing there were no Dark Pokemon out. They would have been caught. They looked from Pokemon to Pokemon. Not a one was the golden Xatu. At last, they came to the one they were looking for. It was as big as a Snorlax! Hopefully, its eye would be easier to handle that the Pokemon itself. As silent as a panther, Satoshi climbed up the bird, kantana in hand. He was going for the right eye first. With the white kantana blade, he slashed the eye out, complete with an eyelid. The bird awoke in pain, tearing madly at Satoshi. Satoshi hung on, going for the next eye. He made a clean cut, leaving the Xatu with bleeding eye sockets.
While Satoshi was busy with the Xatu, the Xatu had awoken the entire fleet of psychic Pokemon. They attacked, mental over physical. Ash was under much pain. He felt his head beginning to swell. The Espeon attacking him must have been trying to blow his head up! Just as he felt the blood ooze from his temple...it stopped. All the pain went away. Ash opened his eyes to reveal the now dead Espeon. But who stopped it? Who?
Ashura gathered the eyes, which were surprisingly small. He placed them each in a different pouch on his sides, left in the left and right in the right. Satoshi joined them, all crowded in a small group surrounded by the Pokemon. Ash knew it. It was all over. He waited for death to come when...He was standing someplace else.
Baffled, he looked around. They must have been miles from the Plateau! Everyone else looked around, except Ashton. He stood there as if nothing had happened. Wait a minute, Ash thought, where was Ashton during the fight back there? Then shrugging the thought off, he returned his attention to the task at hand.
"Here's the left eye, Satoshi," Ashura said as he handed the bloody eye to the insane boy. He took it quickly, then murmuring some kind of chant, the four boys felt themselves time travel. They saw white light as they sped off into the past.
It was a different setting than they first imagined. Everything was peaceful. Humans played. Pokemon roamed. But Satoshi knew what was coming. He knew where to go.
"To the Whirlpool Islands, and hurry!" he yelled.
"But we can't get there in time!" Ashura yelled back at him. Suddenly, they where standing on the islands' southern grounds. It had happened again! Somehow, they had teleported to the islands! But they question was, who was doing the teleporting? Shaking it off once more, Ash followed Satoshi down into the underground region of the islands.
Lugia and Ho-oh were at the entrance, looking as if they were waiting for the boys.
"I won't let you destroy the world!" Satoshi yelled.
"Tisk tisk, twerp. Too bad we have other plans for these two," a familiar female voice called from the bowels of the caverns. It could be none other than,
"Team Rocket!" they boys yelled together.
"Skip the motto today! Let Lugia and Ho-oh go!" bellowed Satoshi, now understanding what had made the birds become evil. Team Rocket had somehow brainwashed them, saying that the world is theirs to own. What they didn't realize was that they brainwashed them too well. Even Team Rocket was the slaves of them in the future.
"WHAT???? Why are there four Twerps? Oh, never mind! Sic them now!" James called out as he pushed a small button and made the birds attack the boys. Ashton saw the remote, and figured that they used some sort of device to control the birds. Dodging the attacks, he pounced upon James. He grabbed the remote for him and tried to smash it. He failed. It could only be destroyed if...a Pokemon attacked it.
Seeing no other choice, he ran in front of the legendary birds. They used full power on Ashton, just as he planned they would do.
"ASHTON!!!!" Satoshi called out, unable to reach his friend. A blast was heard, followed by smoke, and then all was white.
Satoshi's eyes opened to reveal everyone okay, including Ashton. Covered in soot, the oldest boy looked around. He smiled when Shannara appeared, hand outstretched like before.
"The eye! Give me my eye!" she screeched, ripping it away from Ashura's hand. As before, she chanted those foreign words and the eye disappeared. She looked around at the boys for a moment, and then spoke.
"Ah, I didn't expect you to make it this far. Well done. You shall be sent to Ashton's dimension, one of change and pain. There, you must find a pure crystal tear. No go. And remember that all is not what it seems!"
Shannara nodded her head as she watched the boys go once again. Smirking, she remarked: "It shall soon begin."
