Ash x Setsuna added…

Chapter 46 – Ash

Okay. Take a deep breath, Ash. You’ve learned that people here normally have seven wives. And you can’t just ditch Setsuna…

            Hotaru looks interested.

I might as well see what she can do…. Oh! She can stop time for up to an hour… and she can tell the future sometimes. I guess she's not useless then.

She is really pretty, she’s wearing a red tunic that barely brushes past her hips and golden sandals. She’s got sparkling red ruby eyes and long, green hair that falls to her waist… dark green.

I like long hair, just not on me much.

Well… it can’t hurt, right? So she can come along. Maybe this is a team RPG, with one leader? I’m starting to believe that…

Hotaru doesn’t look jealous, luckily… so Setsuna give me a kiss on the lips and then we ride back to the tribe together on Crystal… well, until we hit an army of zombies and skeletons.

            Grr…

“Eterneon, I choose you! Use Heaven’s Glow!” I’ll never forget that Charlotte showed me this pokemon… and the card obeys, white light shining all over the place…

I hear shrieks as most of the undead disintegrate… into dust. Setsuna claps her hands, with a smile. Conservative.

“I knew you were powerful, but I never imagined…”

“Yes, I know.” Hotaru smiles. “Our lord is wonderful, is he not, sister?”

            “Indeed, my dear sister.”

            “You’re sisters?” Woah, how weird…

“No, lord… it is custom for wives to call each other sister.”

            Ah, that explains it…

Well, off we go… and after an hour we’re back with the tribe. The shaman’s really pleased. Well, I would be too, if a god suddenly appeared, proving all my prophecies correct.

Anyways, now he wants me to go and do him another favor. Apparently his daughter has been kidnapped by the priests of Zamorak and taken to the adjoining island of Brimhaven. Well, this I can do…

But first… “Sir, I do not need to marry her, right?”

“Oh no, sir.” He smiles toadyish, quite sickeningly actually. “My daughter is a priestess and cannot marry.”

            Oh good…

I wonder how Lance will react to Setsuna? No, he already said it’s a game. He won’t be angry with me!

Yawn… I’m tired though… maybe a break is in order? Well, I can’t take one here, gods aren’t supposed to get tired.

Crystal starts slithering through the forest again. I’m pretty sure she can handle anything that comes, so… I fall asleep for four or five hours and wake up feeling completely healed. Resting will restore HP then, not just food.

But it takes a long rest, apparently…

            “Setsuna?”

            “Yes, lord Ashura?”

            “Do you sense any danger?”

She shakes her head. “No, I am sorry. My farseeing powers are quite limited…”

“It’s okay, Setsuna.” I say. Odd how they understand my modern speak. Must be another game mechanic. “Well, let me try…”

I extend my aura of star and shadow outwards… there. Darkness, in that volcano… volcano! I can’t go in a volcano, can I?

Surely-! Oh, whom am I kidding? “Setsuna, Hotaru, hang on to Crystal tightly. Mr. Mime, I choose you!”

The light screen pokemon coats us all in layers and layers of light screen as we reach the mouth of the volcano and jump in….

            *CRASH*

Well, it looks like that this volcano has no lava in it… what an idiot… at least the Light Screen protected us from the red spiders we landed in.

I quickly grabbed a couple of the eggs and have Pidgey fly them off to the witch for her potion, with the other ingredients. She’s back soon with a solid gold cauldron as my reward. Heh, that’ll be useful in potions…

            Well, another quest done!

I’m just glad Eudial didn’t want to marry me… that would be very disturbing, plus she seems like a vile sort. Setsuna and Hotaru are nice. They have clean auras, dark green- almost black, and light purple.

            Kirei…

Now then… to follow the darkness… past the spiders, which Crystal ate… I guess snakes eat spiders, so giant snakes eat giant spiders… besides, the spiders are small compared to her…

Coral ate a couple of them, and then announced that she’d learned their type of poison. Crystal congratulated her.

So this trip is proving quite useful… Hehehe…

After going deeper in, we saw some skeletons, which avoided us like the plague, and then… a little bridge leading to an island in the middle of a lava pit.

I guess I was right after all, this place does have lava. Anyways, there were eighteen men in red robes, next to a girl tied up with snakes. Ouch!

Crystal swam through the lava – I can’t believe they didn’t notice us, and then promptly blasted six of them into death with a glare from her eyes. The others quickly scattered, except for one…

            “Are you the leader?”

            “Yes.”

“Well, why did you kidnap her?”

“You mean little Louisa here?” He laughs. “Her father tried to eradicate our temple to Zamorak.”

Well… revenge seems to be a recurring leitmotif here. Sigh. “Well, I can’t condemn you for your religion…”

“Indeed. You are a powerful mage.”

            “Thank you.”

“For sparing my life, I offer you a gift…”

            Not again!

He brings forth a girl in red robes like his. “This is Rei. She is a high priestess of Zamorak. She shall aid you on your journey.”

“But I thought priestesses couldn’t marry!”

            “It is their choice.”

Rei has red eyes too, and purple-highlighted black hair. Without another word, the man vanishes…

            “Um… hi?”

Rei looks at me curiously, and then nods. “You’re powerful. I will obey you.”

            Weird…

Well, her magic is casting spells to lower the opponent’s stats. Rather useful as well. I’m glad none of them overlap….

            Otherwise, I might be annoyed.
