Chapter 3
Redfs eyes took a moment to adjust to the darkness, before he gasped. Lancefs body lay there, on a slab of silvery stone. He heard Clair suck in a breath and concluded that it had not been there before.
They both rushed forwards, but he was quite dead. Red shuddered as he caught sight of the injuries Lance had sustained, and Clair looked grim.
As they watched, a pale bluish-white glow surrounded his body, as a wave of healing light washed over the corpse.
Red tried not to cry but had a hard time doing so. Clair patted him on the shoulder sympathetically as she stopped down, picking up a pitcher of what looked like clear water, except it smelled like dust.
gHere.h
Red took it from her, and began pouring it over Lancefs prone form, as Clair began to recite in a clear, cold tone.
May
you be blessed as you walk through the valleyc
May
the power of Viridian light your pathc
The verses went on and on, as Red finished pouring. For such a small jug, the supply of liquid inside certainly seemed endless. As soon as Clair finished, she backed away. Red hastily followed her example.
The entire altar began to glitter with cold silver light.
Clair sucked in a breath as she and Red watched quietly. The ceremony was supposed to send the soul of the Dragon Master on, but something was going wrongc
There was a crash of lightning that blinded them both, and when it cleared, the body was gone.
That had worked at leastc
Red felt hysterical laughter bubbling up in his throat. It was all over now, all over. Clair hugged him and then they left.
He could almost hear a second set of footsteps following them, the gentle swish of a cloakc he smiled.
Clair must have heard it too, for her eyes sparkled as his did.
Lance was not dead, oh no, he still lived on in the two closest to himc and they would fulfill the dream the Dragon Master had died for.
They had power, and skill, and influencec
It would not take long.
gHow do I look?h
Clair studied him, feeling her breath catch. gYour eyes are different, but other than thatc itfs perfect.h
Red smiled. He had finally grown taller, and it was nice. He ran a hand through his dyed hair a bit awkwardly.
gAre you sure you want to go through with this?h
gAre you? It will be hardc and if they find outch
gI donft care.h Clair said, and her eyes were as pained as his. gI donft care, Red. If youfre going to go through with it, so will I.h
gIfll need your two Dragonairc and hopefully, with my Aeroy and Gyarac that will be enoughch
gDragonite.h Clair sighed. gI couldc obtain one for you. If itfs really necessarych
gClair, you are not getting cold feet now, are you?h
gNo.h Clair whispered, and her eyes were as mad as his, glittering in the pale light of the candles that lit Dragonfs Den. The grandfather had not entered once, not since they had begun planning, and now, they were readyc
It would only take a few moments, and well, even if they did not have the Kanto setc but they did, as Cerise Island still stood, and they had a replacement for the Earth Badge in hand.
The Rising Badge on Clairfs cloak glimmered as they flew off.
Who would have suspected that the Elite Four would return to Cerise Island? Certainly not anyone who was smartc and as Lugia rose over the Island, two voices chanted their request together, male and female blending into an eerie echo of what was once one voice.
And the dragon legendary dipped his head down, and acquiesced to their request.
Smile.
And in the aftermath of destruction, no one knew where a Champion and a Gym Leader had gone.
And that was that.

Well, if you really squinted, Red and Clair might be together, but I doubt itc since Red is still mourning Lancec
Theyfre both cracked. ^^()
