Her tears are running down her cheeks, as she clings to Ash. It’s like a dam of emotion has broken inside of her, and everything is flooding out. She just can’t believe it! Ash loves her!

He’s patting her back, obviously embarrassed with the entire situation, but she doesn’t care. She’s won! She’s beaten May and Dawn and every other girl, because Ash has chosen her to be his girlfriend.

Misty doesn’t think she’s ever felt this strongly about anything else.

“Aw, Misty,” Ash says. “You can stop crying now. You’re getting my shirt wet!”

It’s not polite, but she sniffles and tries to stop.

Ash kisses her again, and that helps, even though he tastes salt. He knows that Misty will be happy now, and yes, it will be rough going, adjusting to this new thing, but they can work through it. They always have before.

Brock just chuckles and says that it’s about time, and they both glare at him.
