Red doesn’t like playing cards very much. It depends too much on luck and not enough on skill, so he and Father don’t play very much.

Right now, they’re playing Monopoly, and he’s flat broke. He’s mortgaged all of his blue properties, and he just landed on Park Place. He groans and tries to figure out how to get out of this mess.

Father laughs.

“I’ll offer you my Poliwag?”

Poli looks indignant, as Lance reaches over and ruffles his hair. “It’s just a game, Red. No need to be so serious.”

“I know, but still~!”

“I’ll take something else though, and not charge you this round.”

So he agrees, and Father kisses him on the cheek. He looks at Father in surprise. “That’s so girly of you!”

But some part of him enjoys it, though he’d never admit it in a million years!
