“So that’s it?” Paul’s voice was withering. “You’re gay?”

Ash nodded.

“Who is it?” The Shinou trainer smirked. “Brock?”

“Why do you care?” The Pallet trainer snapped.

Paul just smirked. “Because I’m going to prove to you that you’re as worthless in love as you are in pokemon battling.”

“And you’re going to do that by seducing my boyfriend?”

“Sure, I’d be much better than a fag like you.”

Ash decided not to point out that if he was going to go chasing another boy, Paul was technically queer as well. He pretended to blush and stammer for a bit.

“It’s J-James…”

“James?” Paul’s eyebrows shot up. “Guess you had to pick someone more mediocre than you.”

Ash watched as Paul strode off, intent on finding the blue-haired Team Rocket member. He waited until the boy was out of sight, before giggling.

“Honestly. Of all the people you know, you had to pick James?” Lance asked; crawling out of the bush he had dove into when Ash had spotted Paul.

“Well, it was the first person I could think of! I couldn’t say Brock!” Ash blushed. “And since he’d guessed you were a boy…”

“I am, but that’s not the point.” The Dragon Master sighed.

“Are you angry?” Ash asked anxiously.

“Not really.”

He snuggled into Lance’s arms. “Oh good.”

Blue eyes softened slightly as the older trainer pressed a kiss to Ash’s forehead. “You are too cute.”

“Truly?”

“Mm.”

“I don’t like Paul.”

“I do not like him either.” Lance ruffled Ash’s spiky hair.

“You don’t think I’m strange, do you?”

“Silly. I love you.”

Ash gazed up at Lance. “But…”

“Why should you care what he thinks?”

His boyfriend seemed to consider that for a while, before his eyes lit up. “You’re right!” Paul was a jerk! Who cared what his opinion was?

Besides, he was a hypocrite and he abused his pokemon!

“You’re so smart, Lance!”

The Elite trainer just laughed as he hugged Ash. “I see.”

Ash kissed him, timidly sliding his tongue into his lover’s mouth. The Champion chuckled, deepening the kiss between them.

Wow…

He was never going to let Paul take Lance away from him! Ever! He’d keep his secret for as long as he had to!

He was not losing the only person he loved romantically.

Then Lance kissed him again, and he relaxed, because he knew that Lance would never cheat on him with someone like Paul.
