Theme#33, Enamored
Lorelei’s house was cool and airy,
built just outside the ice fall cave. Misty sighed as she set her bags down. She
was not sure, no longer sure if this was really what she wanted. Becoming a
Water Master was serious business. She had already trained hard, beyond what
was required to maintain her Gym Leader position.
However, becoming a Master in these
days required apprenticeship to one who had already become a Pokemon Master,
one who was at the rank of an Elite Four trainer or higher.
Misty would have asked Wallace, the
Water Master and Houen Champion, but he had already taken on an apprentice last
time she checked, and she did not want to burden him. Glacia could have worked,
except Misty did not like her.
So, since there were, quite
unfortunately, no other Water or Ice Masters, that left Lorelei.
Personally, Lorelei was Misty’s
first choice. Misty had idolized the older Trainer from an early age, aspiring
to be like her. Most ice-types were also water-type, which would make them
compatible when they trained.
But what Misty was worried about
right now was her crush.
Watching Lorelei from afar and
admiring her was one thing. Actually living with her seemed like a step into
the twilight zone. What if Lorelei had bad habits? What if she slipped up?
God, she was treating this like they
were getting married or something! It was just for two weeks!
Lorelei came back a moment later,
with an armful of blankets and an apologetic expression. “I hope that you don’t
mind sleeping on the couch, Misty. It folds out.”
“No, that’s fine.” She said. This island
did not have any motels, so staying elsewhere was out of the question.
“Well, I guess I’ll leave you to get
settled in.” The woman moved out of the room, towards her bedroom. Misty
sighed, and then looked over. The table in the dining room had a plush doll on
it. It was a Psyduck.
It was the Psyduck she had given
Lorelei!
There were other dolls in the room –
there were a Farfetch’d and a Pidgeot perched on one book shelf, and a Slowpoke
and a Slowbro on another one, but the Psyduck doll sat alone on the living room
table. Did it mean something?
Did Lorelei remember her?
Misty doubted it. Lorelei had lots
of fans, and she could have hugged dozens of people already. Surely she would
not remember.
That made her feel cold all over.
Lorelei wasn’t hers, but Misty wished she was.
When she had finished unpacking,
they had sandwiches for dinner.
Misty sipped her iced tea slowly,
staring out the window at Icefall cave, and wondering if Lorelei’s heart was
frozen too.
She didn’t think so, but…
Maybe she should wait until after
her training to seduce the Ice Master?
This was not cool.
Lorelei was blissfully unaware of
all of this.
End Fic

I prefer Game-verse Misty to Anime! Misty, obviously, but I do enjoy how cute Zensho! Misty is too…
Most houses in FRLG have a kitchen but no beds. Isn’t it odd?
I don’t think I can do a full-length multi-chaptered fic with this couple. One-sided crushing is one thing, but reciprocal, sorry, that’s against my religion.
