Chapter Seven

Taja spotted a clearing, deep in the woods, she spied a flash of green and blonde hair. Something shiny and big reflected the suns rays, blinding the old persian momentarily. She pointed one claw at the clearings direction. "Ssian,"
The man who sat behind her nodded, his blue hair covered one side of his face.
Indicating to the pidgeot, the two rode, in the sky, were the thermals carried them higher.
"Let's go down my friend, we may not have much time left," His voice soft, yet commanding.
The giant bird cooed in agreement. Holding the cat pokemon by the shoulder Falkner warned, "Hold on tight, it's going to be a fast ride,"
Taja smiled, Perrr, sssian," I may be old, but that doesn't mean I'm a cowardly weakling.
The gym leader shrugged, "Don't say I didn't warn you,"
The pidgeot suddenly turned vertically in the air, and dived. The ground rocketed towards them.
"Perrrrrr!!!"
Topaz struggled against the ropes, swearing obscenities at the duo of rockets.
The man waved his pointer finger, "Uh, uh, uh! Try that again, and," He made a show of flipping the switch on the remote control he held in his hand, "your pokemon, will get sizzled."
She glared at him, golden eyes burning with hatred, "You wouldn't dare."
He snorted, challenging her, "Try me."
The gym trainer screamed in frustration, they needed help, and quick.
It all happened as a blur before Katiral's eyes, suddenly, there was a swoop of feathers, a strong gust of wind, Orpheus cried out in surprise and pain, as the large blur of brown feathers dived and struck his hand, making him drop the remote control.
Ophelia yelled in confusion, "What the hell!?"
A large pidgeot landed in front of Katiral, ridden by a strange blue haired man and her old friend.
"Taja!" Cried the trainer in relief.
"Huh!? Taja who?" Topaz called out, "Katiral, what's going on!? If this is a rescue, they definitely took their damn time!"
The black haired girl only laughed, so happy was she to see her beloved friend, "Taja! I completely forgot about you!"
"Perrr, perrr, perrr sian," "Oh no you don't!" Ophelia cried, "Hitmonlee! Go!"
Grimacing with pain, Orpheus weakly threw his own pokeball, "Scizor! Go get them!"
Two pokeballs burst open in midair, a strong brown fighting pokemon, with long legs and black almond eyes, and a large dangerous looking red bladed bug type appeared in front of the cat, blocking her way, "Hitmon!"
"Scizor!"
Taja raised a paw, sharp claws flashed in the sun.
"Taja wait! Don't bother my friend, I'll take care of them! Free the others!" The man ordered, "Pidgeot! Quick attack!"
"Watch out!" The two rockets cried.
With a swoop of feathers, the bird zoomed towards the two pokemon.
"Pidgeot!"
The old persian sliced through the ropes, they immediately fell into Katiral's lap. Bounding up, she quickly ran to the other side of the tree.
"YES!!!," Topaz cried in triumph, realizing her freedom, she leapt up, Adam slid lazily onto the ground, "Uurrgghh," she shuddered.
There was no time to ask questions, more important things were at hand, Katiral ran towards the two Rockets, who were screaming orders at their pokemon, preoccupied with the battle against the pidgeot and his master, they didn't notice her advance, "Free the pokemon!" The girl called over her shoulder.
Katiral ran at Orpheus, without breaking her stride, her fist connected against his jaw with a perfect right hook. He collapsed dazedly onto the ground, he hadn't even known what had hit him. Ophelia stared at the martial artist in shock, who walked menacingly towards her.
"Stay back!" She warned.
Katiral merely grinned, adrenaline rushed through her veins, she was rockin' and rearing for action. She was dimly aware of the battle raging around her, Taja fighting furiously with the Scizer, Pidgeot against Hitmonlee, the strange blue haired trainer shouting orders over the screams of pain and defiance.
Topaz ran towards the cage, "Don't worry, I'll get you out!"
"Shirashami!"
"Charrr," Topaz grinned, "Don't worry about that, you can trust me,"
Her pokemon groaned inwardly.
Ophelia yelled out to her Hitmonlee, "Get over here and help me!"
It was a small distraction, but Katiral used it to her full advantage, she lunged at the Rocket, spinning lightning fast in the air, she performed a beautiful spin kick, which struck the green-haired woman in the solar plexus.
To Ophelia, Katiral appeared as a whirring blur, and before she knew it, the rocket was thrown onto the ground, her chest burning with pain. "HITMONLEE!!" She screamed, "HELP ME!!"
Hearing his master's cry, the pokemon executed a powerful crescent kick, knocking the pidgeot and his trainer back, giving Hitmonlee the chance to escape to the aide of Ophelia.
"Hitmonlee!"
Katiral blocked a flurry of punches and kicks from the enraged pokemon, she saw a gap in his defense as he began to tire, she delivered a perfect uppercut into the pit of his stomach.
The pokemon crumpled and fell as a heap onto the ground.
"Damn it!" Ophelia cried in frustration, "Hitmonlee! Return,"
The thief glared at the trainer, "You haven't seen the last of us, Orpheus get up, we're leaving!"
Shaking his head to clear the dizziness, the blonde struggled to his feet and stumbled after the retreating Ophelia, his Scizor following closely after him.
Katiral ran after them, heart pounding with every step, but she didn't feel tired, not at all. All her senses and instincts were heightened tenfold, she felt stronger than ever before, like she could take on the entire world without breaking into a sweat. She was unaware of the crazy grin widening on her face, she was so caught up in the 'battlerush'.
As she began to catch up with the two rockets, she felt the ground began to tremble, then she could hear the noise of many paws and hooves, and the flapping of several strong wings.
She stopped and turned curiously.
Katiral grinned when she saw who it was. The captured pokemon, now set free, charged after the duo of rockets, a stampede of very angry, and very determined pokemon. She saw her shaman, Whitewing, flying overhead with several other birds, and the mysterious pidgeot, his master riding on his back. Galacial, her artico galloped with the mass of pokemon on the ground, Katiral recognized the large figure of Adam's snorlax, Tum Tum, loping behind the group, Godzilla his golduck on his shoulder, shouting encouragement and obscenities of revenge, she saw all her pokemon, and a few others she didn't recognize, Adam's and Topaz's she assumed.
Leading the vengeful horde was Topaz herself, on the back of a large Rapidash. The gym trainer grinned as she saw the martial artist, "Want a lift?"
Katiral laughed and vaulted onto the back of the fiery pokemon as it passed her.
"Let's go kick some Rocket ass!" Topaz cried pleasantly.
