Sapphire Storms Chapter Four Satisfied with the second step of his mission completed, he had decided to treat himself to a luxury dinner at the Starmie Restaurant. He had morphed another body, and sat, legs crossed in an expensive black suit and sunglasses, waiting patiently for his food to arrive, he checked his watch, almost time for little Katiral to arrive home. He smiled coldly, Oh what a surprise she'll get. It had taken him many years to become a 'trustworthy' friend, and then when everything seemed perfect, he had struck, inviting Shao for a cruise in his yacht then knocking him out and tying him up. He grinned as he recalled the memory, it had been an exciting night, Shao Lao Lou never knew what hit him, and by the time he did, he was already at the bottom of the ocean. He chuckled, after that, he had gone to a lively beach party, it was one of the best nights he could remember. Other customers regarded the strange man curiously, he appeared to be grinning at his watch. They turned and whispered amongst themselves. What a strange man indeed! Yet so handsome! Has anyone ever seen hair as blue as his? And just look at those muscles! His eyes were covered in shades, preventing their curious eyes to see his. He turned his head to wards them, immediately they avoided eye contact. There was something sinister and cold about this strange man. Yessiree. Turning back to his watch the man said, "Hello Acko, my Ditto friend, how are you faring?" Small ditto eyes and mouth appeared on the watch face. 'Ditto," The man nodded, "Yes, fun wasn't it?" He remembered her scared and confused face, after using stun spore from Acko in one of his morphs, he had slashed the woman's wrists. He recalled the pain that had distorted her face, yet unable to say a word, paralyzed as she was, she suffered in silence. He remembered the fun he had twirling her around the room, splashing blood onto the walls and furniture. He laughed loudly, causing several startled looks from the customers. And, just before she had died, defiant till death she had mouthed two words. "Fuck you," It had been very impolite. But even those words hadn't stopped him from feeling happy, and he had walked away from the shack singing. Now, he thought of the girl, Katiral, she would be a much harder target, over the years, he had watched as she had grown stronger, both physically and mentally. He was very proud of her, and it was a shame to kill her, it was almost as if she was his own daughter, even though she hardly knew him, he knew her intimately. But he had to finish her, that was his mission, she had the power to destroy the world. He still didn't know how, but he knew that he must befriend her, then annihilate her. It waswhat the Boss had ordered him to do. He looked down at his ditto again, "Are you ready for the final dance?" "Ditt, ditto," The man's food arrived, satay chicken, vegetables, rice, and the finest wine in the restaurant. He dug into it happily, he was famished, stuffing the food into his mouth he remembered the beautiful Ceres. He grinned and felt like whistling, he always felt like this after a kill. * * * "I'm sorry Miss Lou, but I'm afraid that it was suicide, there is nothing that we can do, except put her at peace beside her husband," Officer Jenny sat in front of her, the policewoman's blue eyes were apologetic. Jenny hated giving bad news, it made her feel degraded, rotten. She was supposed to be an officer of the law, fighting crime. She always felt guilty and sad when news like this reached her. It made her feel like she had let down the community. Now, telling this poor child that there was nothing she could do, made it all a thousand times worse, "I'm very sorry," The girl had her head bowed, to stop anyone seeing the tears that rolled down her face. She had known for sometime that her mother might try something like this, with the state of their living situation, but she had always consoled herself that she'd be able to handle it, that it was Ceres's choice if she ever did. And now she had, and Katiral still couldn't stop from feeling the pain, the emptiness. She also felt angry and ashamed that she hadn't done anything about it, that her mother had left her so abruptly, so messily, without even a good bye. Taking a deep breathe to calm her emotions she looked up at the pretty Officer, tears blurring her vision, "It's all right, I'll be leaving now," Slowly, she got up and left the small whitewashed room, and stepped out of the front door of the police station and walked into the night, her faithful Taja beside her, as always. It was relatively empty in the Beast of the Sea cafe, the four of them sat by a large window overlooking the beautiful bay. The sky had darkened and billions of stars lit up the ocean's cool waters. Katiral poked miserably at her food. She didn't have an appetite, and looking over at the moody Taja, she knew the pokemon felt the same. Adam on the other hand was as hungry as a snorlax, digging into his baked beans with relish. Godzilla beside him, doing the same. She looked at them both disgustedly, "If your bowels start going crazy, you can find someplace else to sit," Adam grinned weakly, "Like, whatever," He wasn't wearing his sunglasses, and his unique red eyes stared at her, "So, what are you like, going to do now?" Katiral leaned her elbows against the table and rested her forehead in the palm of her hands, "I really don't know, I really don't. I have no place to go anymore, I have no close relatives anywhere around the region," "Golledduck," Adam nodded, "Like, yeah! I need to see my folks in Violet, you could come with us if you want. C'mon, how old are you? Fifteen? Sixteen? You could like, start over, and in Violet you won't get hassled, no one'll know who you are!" She thought about it. Katiral had always wanted to become a Pokemon Trainer and enter the Johto League, Violet City would be a great place to start, she could challenge Falkner and earn a badge. Besides, what did she have left here? Nothing but bad memories, and the graves of her parents. She briefly recalled the funeral. It had taken place early this morning, three days after she had seen Jenny, four, since her mother's death. Surprisingly a lot of people had come, obviously Mother had been a well liked person before Dad died, working as a cheerful hairdresser at Crabby's Snippers, after Shao had passed away, Mom had quit and the people around her had drifted away, not liking the new, angry and morbid Ceres. In fact, the only friend her mother had had after the 'accident' was the exchange student, Jake and his Spinarak, who had kept in touch with the family even after he had gone back home. He was the only one who Mother had had patience with, confiding in him her grief stricken feelings, he'd been the only one whom she had trusted. Katiral remembered him at the funeral, crying openly as they had laid Ceres to rest, dressed in mournful black, as were the others, he had given her his condolences, hugged her fiercely, and had left shortly after. Katiral hadn't cried at the funeral, she was done with crying, she had stood emotionless, her five loyal pokemon at her side as well as Adam, watching as they had covered her coffin with earth. She absently stroke Taja's fur, "Yeah Adam, I think I might come. For a while I've been I'd thinking about entering the Johto League and becoming a master, this'll be the perfect opportunity," He smiled encouragingly, he had hoped she'd take up the offer, staying on this goddamn island was not healthy for her, she needed to do something that would take her mind off the tragedy, hell, he needed something to take his mind off Ceres, he hadn't been able sleep properly ever since, nightmares of Ceres's corpse haunted him even in his dreams. "Good, I'm like, glad you said that, how about we start tomorrow?" She nodded, "Fine," * * * O.K, that's the first few chapters, hope you like it, I'm pretty proud of it myself (Heh, Heh, Heh).
