Sapphire Storms Chapter Two "How about two pokemon each?" "Yeah, sure," Adam had watched as she had recalled her Gyrados from the sea and into his pokeball, he had been awed as the gigantic monster of a thing had come speeding towards them gliding across the water. He admitted to himself that he had about nearly wet himself. Seeing his terror stricken expression, Katiral had only laughed. She had learned his name was Adam, and that he was passing by, competing in the Johto league, already a holder of two badges, the Zephyr, and the Hive badge. She stood facing him, Taja beside her, Adam stood on the other side of their makeshift battle arena. From his belt he grabbed a pokeball, it enlarged in his hand. "O.K.! Like, I choose you!" He threw it, it burst open in mid air, revealing a very fat, but very healthy looking Snorlax. It sat in the middle of the arena, it's huge stomach bulging forward, a dumb 'I've got air for brains' smile was planted on his face. Katiral burst out laughing, "A snorlax?" "Hey man, like, don't diss my Snorlax," The girl held up her hands in surrender, still grinning, "O.K. whatever," Choosing a pokeball, she threw it into the air, "Galacial go!" "Perrr, Perr, perr," Taja commented, her aristocratic voice, soft and noble. Red light poured out of the pokeball, forming a blue artico onto the sand. "Artico!" He pawed at the ground, his flaming blue mane and tail danced wildly, his snowy fur harbored no blemishes, it was the purest of whites. Adam looked at it curiously, "Wow, like, that's a cool horse!" He dug out Dexter from his huge cargo pocket. "Artico; Scientists had only just found out how to discover the gender of Pokemon three years ago and a survey discovered that all Ponyta, Rapidash and Zefire, the winged evolution of Rapidash, were female. A short time later they followed their yearly migration to an unknown valley, now called the Vale of Dreams. Inside were the male Artico, Articolt and Articorn, much like the females except they were broader of shoulder and the blue flame that made up the mane and tail froze instead of burnt, making it an ice type. The Rapidash and Zefire mated and gave birth to the young. If it was an Artico, it would stay behind to be raised by the Articolt and Articorn, if a Ponyta, it would make the long journey back to Kanto." Adam gave a low whistle at enormity of the information, while Katiral waited patiently for him to finish, and call out his first move. Looking up at his snorlax, he cried, "O.K. Tum Tum! Body slam!" "Perrrr!" "Artico! Get out of the way, then Freeze!" The martial artist ordered. The giant pokemon leapt into the air, and came down, free fall position. Dodging nimbly, the ice horse circled behind Tum Tum, opened his mouth and roared out a cold flue fire, it engulfed the snorlax, who was still in the air, Freezing and trapping him in ice. He fell to the ground, and the ice smashed, toppling the unconscious TumTum onto the ground. Adam banged his forehead with his palm, "Oh Shit!" He groaned. "Perrr, perrrr," Katiral could only smile. The battle was coming along fine, her Galacial had escaped unharmed. Grabbing another pokeball, Adam threw it into the arena, "Godzilla! Attack!" The ball enlarged, and spurted out a pokemon. Katiral wandered what a 'Godzilla' was. As the red light cleared, it revealed a violet Golduck, the golden gem in the center of its forehead glowed brightly. Katiral looked at him questioningly, "Godzilla?" "Shut-up," "Perrr," "You named your pokemon, Godzilla?!" "Hey!" The trainer said defensively, "I like Godzilla, that's got to be like, the coolest movie!" The girl cracked up, "Godzilla?" She said incredulously, laughing. "O.K., that's it, like, use your Third Eye!" Godzilla's golden gem shone brightly, then without warning, red energy burst, like a torrent of water towards the ice pony. "Perrrrrrrr!" Goodness Gracious! WATCH OUT!> Taja screamed. Katiral immediately stopped her laughter, "Hey!" She watched, as the energy beam shot towards Galacial, "GET AWAY!" But it was too late, it struck the ice type with a force that knocked it back several feet. The horse whinnied as it lay on the ground trying to get up, but to no avail. It collapsed onto the sand. Katiral recalled him, "That wasn't fair!" Adam admired his fingernails and replied airily, "Hey, like, life's not fair, sweety," She gave him the finger. "Purrrr, purrr," She looked down at her old friend, "Sorry," she apologized, then "Lustra! Get him!" She threw out a pokeball, which opened in mid air, spurting a red flamed Cyndaquil. "Cyndaquil!" The cat exclaimed, shocked at his use of words. "Cynd?," "Lustra! Flamethrower!" Katiral cried "Cynda!" She opened her mouth, and a bright fire gathered, then roared towards Godzilla, surrounding him with flame. He cried in pain, "Golllllle!" "Whoa," Adam cried as he watched his Golduck collapse, "Man that was one short battle!" He declared as he returned his pokemon. "Perrr, ssssiannn," Taja complemented. "Thanks," "Cool, like, Thanks," Lifting the pokeball, Katiral praised her cyndaquil, "You did an excellent job, my friend," The little pokemon bowed extravagantly, "Cynnnn," She recalled Lustra and turned to Adam as he reached the two on the other side of their arena. "So where are you headed now?" The girl asked him, as the three of them walked up the dunes and towards the trees. He smoothed back his hair, taking off his sunglasses, Katiral found herself looking into a surprisingly handsome face, and eyes with extraordinary, yet, beautiful, red irises. "I dunno, like, first I gotta find some healing potions, then I like, gotta probably go home to my folks in Violet, so, yeah, that's what I'll probably, do." Katiral nodded, "Well, I've got some healing potions under my bed, so, if you want some, I don't mind." Adam grinned, "As long as you don't pull some of that like, Kung Fu stunts with your goddamned katanas," He shook his head, "Jeese man, that was like, freaky shit," Taja glared at him. Raising his hands in surrender he said lightly, "Whoa, sorry,"
