Mage Power
By Saliaven Chronotis
Part 3
Luto
Saliaven gathered a few of the students
and masters (Duplica, Misty, Mewtwo, Ash, Mew, Marlene, Gary, Pikachu,
Umbreon, Blaze and Vapor) together on the south coast of Cinnabar.
“I’ve gathered you here to solve the population problem until one of us
can reinstate aging in this population, and to build my base city.
The mage city belongs to you, and I shall not take it for myself.
What we are going to do is to call down enough power to raise an entire
continent, with cities and an infrastructure. This will take a lot
of focus, and I want you all to be ready for anything. I have a feeling
it will be an interesting day. We will be taking a fleet of boats
120 miles off the coast of Cinnabar, so that the continent can rise without
too much trouble.” He showed them to their boats and they began to
paddle out. After what seemed like an eternity, they saw an island, and
Saliaven indicated that they moor there. “This is where we shall
set up. Hopefully it will work.”
Upon landing, Saliaven said for them to hike.
They went about a mile when they came upon a stone slab. It had three
circles with a pentagram, octogram and tridecagram inscribed. There
was also a triangle superimposed over all three, connecting the circles,
and three more triangles in the circles, superimposed over the shapes.
“This is about right. OK, in the pentagram, I want Mewtwo, Blaze
and Vapor, with Duplica in the center. In the octogram, Ash, Pikachu
and Mew with Marlene in the center. In the tridecagram, we will have
Gary, Misty and Umbreon with me in the center. If you will do the
honors, Marlene.” He gestured to her and she pulled a staff from
her coat, rapping it against the stone. “You could have done that
yourself.”
“Yes, but it looks better if you do it.”
“I beg to differ.” But the argument was cut short as the entire
platform shot up into the air. Those who weren’t yet accustomed to
inanimate objects levitating almost lost their balance.
“I really should put a railing on this thing.” Saliaven shouted
over the wind. The platform stopped with a jolt and all was silent.
Saliaven passed out a paper to everyone, making
sure they could all read the language it was in. He then took out
his wand and pressed a button, extending it to staff length and gave Duplica
a staff with a gem inset on top. “When we raise our staves, you raise
yours.” He said to her, and to everyone “Now, start saying the words,
the centers are doing the lower case, fringe people chant the upper case:
<Start Aten-Ra, Mystery, updated lyrics>
I’ll make this monument by your hand a drifting sun in a foreign land
AMON-RA, ATUM-RA IS-RA, IS-RA, ISRAEL
Image of the One, My face has been denied from all the inscriptions
but not from the sky
ATEN-RA, ANKH-IS-RA IS-RA, IS-RA, ISRAEL
Who is God? Your name defies belief for no One less wrought in Heresy?
AMON-RA, ATUM-IS-RA IS-RA, IS-RA, ISRAEL AMON-RA, ATUM-IS-RA IS-RA,
IS RA, ISRAEL? AMON-RA, ATUM-IS-RA IS-RA, IS RA, ISRAEL?
<End Aten-Ra>
When the chant finished, nothing happened.
“Are you sure that was what we were supposed to do?” Ash asked skeptically.
“Oh ye of little patience. Look now.” A huge bubble emerged
from the sea, followed by an evergreen tree. More and more came up,
as a mountain was outlined. Then, foothills and flats emerged, with
deserts and forests. Land began to appear around the island, with
buildings and cities of various types, always leaving a lot of water between
it and the original island. The slab was still what seemed like miles
above the island. “Behold” Saliaven shouted “the continent of Luto.”

Authors note: No one’s been asking, but I still think I ought to point
out that you certainly don’t need to buy Cruxshadows stuff to figure out
what’s going on, but it does flesh things out. This ended up to be
longer than I meant, but that’s fine, I don’t mind. Pikachu has been
spending more time in her bipedal form recently, as you can see.
This is mostly because the pokemon version is quite old, and it really
feels cool when you shift from old to young like that. Once again,
I most certainly don’t own pokemon, although if things get bad for Nintendo,
and we all pool our resources, maybe the tower could get ahold of rights
to it. Aye, aye? I also do not own the Cruxshadows, I am not
Rogue, I don’t like Aten, but I do like Onions. And remember, that
I am open to opinions. And if you are wondering how their brains
can still work if there is no time in them, I will get to that. I
can’t believe it! I’ve just been looking around and it turns out
that my name is actually spelled Salyavin. I am going to continue
to spell it the way I do, but I must apologize if you are used to that
spelling and actually know who Chronotis is. (For those of you who
were stumped, I now reveal Salyavin Chronotis to be the time lord who,
due to a genetic throwback, gained the ability to enter and change the
minds of people. He was considered a criminal and sent to Shada,
the time prison. He escaped and erased the knowledge of Shada from
the minds of all Time Lords, but left memory of himself, since he was known
for his style and style is useless if people don’t remember it.)
