Part III Max had just taken the ship in, dropped the anchor, and docked it. Everybody was now out on the port of the town, making sure they knew what each of them had to do. “Now, I want all of you to be back here at no later than six o’clock. It’s three, so all of you have three hours. That should be more than enough time.” Ash said. “Everybody move out!” Ash said militarily like. Everybody followed his order and went out to do their assigned tasks. Ash, Misty, and Pikachu, who were assigned to get the Potion, Antidotes, and Freshwater, were walking together down the street. Slateport City was a vast, lush, and vibrant city. It was so full of life! Everybody was active, friendly and affable. It seemed like it was the perfect place to live. The sky was blue like the vast ocean itself, and the air was of a fresh, vibrant smell of the sea. To Ash and Misty it felt like they were right at home, because there home was out at sea! No matter where they were in the City, it felt like they were traversing the widespread ocean. The sea was their life, and they wanted to feel close to it no matter where they went. “Ash, we haven’t been in Slateport in a very long time, much has changed. Do you know where everything is?” Misty said. “[Yeah, are you sure you know your way around?]” Pikachu said. “I know this town like the back of my hand!” Ash said confidently. “I can never get lost.” Misty chuckled a little bit, remembering the past and his so called plans of navigation. “What was that laugh for?” Ash said, showing a little bit of anger in his voice, but not enough for Misty to notice. “Nothing, I was just wondering how you’re going to get around with your lack of navigation skills.” She said with acerbity in her voice. Pikachu grimaced at the thought of what he knew was going to happen next. He knew a fight was coming, and it was going to start fast. “Hey! I have great navigation skills!” Ash said defensively. “Oh please, if Max wasn’t here, we would be out, lost at sea forever.” “Take that back!” “No!” ”Take that back!” “NO!” “FINE! If you want to keep insulting me like this, then I don’t want to have anything to do with you! Good bye!” He said very dourly. Ash then stomped off very angrily; unaware that Pikachu was still on his shoulder, about to fall off. * If she doesn’t want anything to do with me, that’s fine!” Ash thought, *I don’t need her! She’s just a pain in the rear to me! * Misty was just standing there, petrified at what she had just done. *Why…why must I do this every time that I’m alone with him…? What makes me feel the need to insult him…? Is it that those insults are for defense…a contumely manner that I can not control…? …Why? * Misty strolled on down the street, opposite of where Ash had trodden, thinking deeper and deeper each minute about what she had done. After a few minutes, she sat down on the side of a building, too distraught to walk any further. “Well, one thing’s for sure…” She said very softly, “Ash, isn’t going to want to see me for a while… I really hope I didn’t mess things up this time...” Misty sat there, with her legs wrapped up in her arms. She had a very sad expression on her face. A small tear came out of her eye and went down her face. The tear then dropped down on the ground, leaving a small, wet puddle signifying it was there. She sat there for a few more minutes, silent as nature is before a big storm. After a few minutes, Misty realized that she was in a very silent part of town. There was the sound of a few cars and a couple of people talking in the far distant, too far to make out what they were saying, but other wise the whole city was silent. She soon got scared at what might happen if she stayed in the same spot for a long time, but she didn’t move. For some reason…she couldn’t move. It was as if she was paralyzed. She felt like she did when she was on the ship, near Ash’s quarters, but it was slightly different. She felt like she had to stay there, for she felt like something was going to happen…something important. She didn’t know at all what it could possibly be or how long until it might happen, but she just had to stay there. It was about mid-after noon now, about three o’ clock. The sun was looming at a slight angle, not directly in Misty’s face but enough for her to cover her eyes at times. It was cool, about seventy degrees, because of the winds of the ocean. Misty’s mind was still trying to convince herself to get up but no avail. After a while she just gave up and sat there, trying to enjoy the weather. After a few more minutes Misty heard a sound. It sounded like a voice, but it wasn’t distinct. It sounded like it was coming from around the corner, so she moved in that direction very cautiously trying not to make a sound. As she approached the corner, the voice became clearer and more distinct. She got to the very corner then peaked very carefully around the corner. She saw immediately what were two shadowy figures. They were talking to each other, making slight gestures with their hands as they talked. Misty then listened as hard as she could to make out what they were saying. “It is time!” Said shadow figure one. “We need to take this plan into action as soon as possible.” “But, what’s the use? We know it’s not even close to Slateport.” Said shadow figure two. “The legend says it’s near Kyogre Isle. Kyogre Isle is about ten thousand miles from here.” “But there are many supplies here that we could use when we reach Kyogre Isle.” “…Well…that’s true… Ok, has Master Giovanni given the word?” “Yes, that’s why I said we need to take this plan into action, you dunce!” Shadow figure two scratched his head in embarrassment. “Ok, that seems logical.” “C’mon! We need to go back to base for the briefing.” Said shadow figure one. The two shadow figures came walking towards Misty, which startled Misty into a dark corner, where the two figures couldn’t see her. As soon as she was in the dark corner, she saw the two figures come out into light. As she thought from the context of the conversation, the two figures were members of Team Rocket. The two figures looked like Admins, which would explain the authority of their mentions and plans. As soon as the Team Rocket Admins left, Misty came out from the shadows. She knew she had valuable information, and she had to give it to the rest of the crew as soon as possible. She just hoped that Ash and she could resolve their differences. She didn’t want to fight with Ash any more… She had a feeling…a feeling that a bunch of things were about to change for the crew. It felt like everything was going to change, from the actions in this town, which was a definite, to the relationships between the crew. She ran off into the distance with the scene playing in her mind over and over again as clear as a captain's bell on a clear day out at sea! I hope you enjoyed the update. Please review!
