The Pokemon Project
Part 3
It’s
late June, and I’m stationed at one of our small offices in Cusick, WA. They
reported a series of strange events occuring there. There was a time when the
whole town just disappeared for three whole days. They felt that they needed me
there, that they could use all the help they could get to figure this out.
I
arrive in a small, private plane to a town that is so small, you could walk all
around it and all through it in less than an hour. An exactly 6-block by
6-block town.
“You
brought me all the way over here because?” I bluntly pointed out.
“We
know that a whole town just vanishing is weird, but a lot more as been
happening lately,” Sarah, Head of Operations in Cusick, stated.
“I
want to see all the reports.”
“They
are at your disposal.”
“Let’s
figure out what’s really going on, because ‘weird’ isn’t the word, insane is.
Somebody is lying right through their teeth, and I know it!”
Just
then, a huge hole appears right in the airstrip.
“What
the hell!”
“I
told you weird stuff’s been happenin’ here.”
“Then
we better figure out what’s causing it and stop it.”
The
hole dissappears and it was as if it was never there.
I
was looking through the reports, many of them from the most credible agents on
the Cusick team. There were even reports from Sarah, stating that some creature
ran amuck through the town, and another was swimming in the river. No one knew
what the creatures were or where they came from. All they knew was that they
were running around terrorizing the people of the small town.
That
night, I had the same dream only this time:
-The lights came on and I realized that it was not an oridanry
room. I was sitting in a tank in some sort of laboratory. The scientists were
coming in and then…-I
woke up.
It
was a rude awakining, really. The whole base was put on Red Alert. For some
reason, nobody could find Sarah. The computer said that she was not on the
premesis or anywhere in the town. We needed to find her and fast.
Thankfully,
she found her way back to the base.
She
came in screaming,”I was in the middle of nowhere, I have no idea how I got
there. I saw these creatures and I ran all the way back. Stay on Red Alert, the
creatures, they are on their way here, and they’re fighting mad!”
Everyone
scrambled to get ready. The whole base was in a panic. This was a state of
emergency! I decided to call back to Seattle for backup and fast.
The
backup arrived just before the creatures showed up.
vAs
the creatures arrived, another group of creatures, led by Mew, arrived. We
watched as Mew’s group totally defeated the other group, one by one. We did not
know what to do. We have hever dealt with Pokemon before. Now I knew that they
were real and they were alive. The question still stood; “Who created them and
why?” I could no longer deny their existance, no matter how hard I tried.
After
Mew’s group won the battle, we didn’t know what we should do. She answered that
herself.
“That
was a pretty close call, wouldn’t you think, my son. Now the human race is
safe, for now. I don’t know if they will strike again, but I sure hope they
don’t,” she said to me. “I’ll see you later, bye.”
“What
just happened?” Sarah blurted out.
“I
don’t know,” I said. “But I think that everything’s gonna be okay now. First
thing tomorrow, I’m heading home.”
“Sound’s
fine to me”
That
night, the dream began where it was cut off this morning.
-The scientists were walking into the lab. I was sitting in a
tank. I look at my hand; it is the hand (paw) of Mewtwo. I’m wondering what I
was doing there when one of the scientists speaks.
“It looks like the expirimentation as gone just as we planned
it to happen. Except for a few miner incidents, he doesn’t know exactly what
happened.”
“We’ll let him know when he comes out,” said another
scientist.
“That sounds like a plan”-
Why
do I always have to wake up when another clue was on it’s way?
The
trip home was slow and boring. Except for the movie that was playing.
When
I get back home, I notice that there is a Beta Project van parked outside my
house. I go inside and look up the word Beta.
Beta-n.
1.The second letter of the Greek alphabet. 2.The second in a series.
PAT
gave me a week of vacation. Good, I could certainly use it. Especially after
all that I’ve been through. My question is: “Is it over, or is there still more
to come.
This
whole situation inspired me to write. I picked up a piece of paper and a pen
and wrote:
When
I wake up in the morning
And look out
the window
I see
something quite suspicious
Usually it’s a
car
Or truck
Painted black
With no lights
on
No engine
And people inside.
But this
morning was different
I did not see
that car
Nor that truck
All I saw was
A man
Dressed in a
black suit
In my backyard
Just sitting
there
As if he were
waiting
Waiting for
something
But what?
Who is this
man?
Where is he
from?
Why is he
In my backyard?
I hope he is
not
Looking for
aliens
For I know one
too many
Or worse
Looking for
me.
