Me: Hi again. It's been a long time, but
I'm finishing recovering from SATS... hard SATS... however, I'm getting on with
this again now I'm over with revision.
Misty: Oh, start without me why don't you!
Me: It's okay, I already have! (Misty
pulls out mallet) Err; actually, we can start again with you this time!
Misty: Okay. Let's get on with *my* story
already!
Me: Okay. I sincerely apologize for the
wait everybody... including you Misty! I'm writing this as a mix of episode
style and story style, seeing as no one said which style they preferred!
>_< I also apologise if this chapter isn't as good as expected, but I've
had to use my very dense head full of sawdust for a whole week! It's not
fair...
Disclaimer- I have miraculously morphed
into the presidents for all the BIG companies whom own Pokémon... I didn't
think you would believe me. That's a surprise... anywayz, I do not own Pokémon,
and don't bother suing me 'coz I'm a lot worse off than the first chapter okay?
I only own Beth, Jo and Mark. Now that's over with, we'll get on with the
story!
Misty's
Journey by Misty's double.
Part
2- The Battle of the Zephyr Badge! **UPDATED**
(A/N I've just remembered... just think
Togepi's been taught to go in a Pokéball, ok? Oh yeah, and Misty's left her
Goldeen and Psyduck with her Sisters. She has Kingdra, Staryu, Starmie,
Poliwhirl and Togepi with her)
Narrator: It's been a while since we last
saw Ash, Brock and Jo, but don't worry, not much has happened...
Ash, Jo and Brock are on Route 46
Jo: Except Mr. Pokémon Disaster here
getting us lost a million times on the simplest route in Johto!!!
Ash: Whatever!
Brock: She has got a point, you see, this
route is all downhill; so all you have to do is go downhill.
Jo: Shame Ash doesn't know that!
Narrator: (clears throat) Well, as I was
saying, they're on their way to New Bark Town, the beginning of Ash's Johto
Journey. Meanwhile... Misty, Mark and Beth are also on the way to New Bark, but
for totally different reasons...
Misty, Mark and Beth are just outside the
gatehouse separating Victory Road etc.
They enter, to be welcomed by a mob of
Pokémon trainers.
Gatekeeper: Ok, everyone be quiet, please.
If you are proceeding towards Indigo Plateau, then please exit through the door
to my left.
All the trainers' leave, and Misty and co.
walk up to the keeper.
Misty: Excuse me, which way is it to New
Bark?
Gatekeeper: To my right.
Misty: Thanks.
They exit, notice all the trainers looking
for weak opponents, and decide to walk through the long grass.
(Pokémon theme song, then fanfare begins
when Misty says)
Misty: The battle of the Zephyr Badge!
Misty and co are entering New Bark Town.
Mark: Right, first, we go to see Prof.
Elm. He'll be wondering where we are!
Misty: Do you think he'll give me a
Pokédex and all the other stuff?
Beth: Probably.
5 minutes later...
Prof. Elm: Ah, hello Beth! How is your
brother's research coming along?
Beth: Fine. He's researching different
natural remedies for status defects at the minute.
Prof. Elm: Oh, that sounds interesting.
Well, are you ready for your new Pokémon?
Beth: We are, but I'm wondering... would
you be able to give a Pokémon to Misty? If it's a problem, we'll understand.
Prof. Elm: Well, that doesn't sound like a
problem. Hello Misty, how's Ash?
Misty: Ok. He's about to enter the Johto League,
and that's why I was hoping you could give me a Pokémon.
Prof. Elm: No, it's fine honestly! Now,
would you three like to follow me to get your Pokémon?
Misty, Mark and Beth follow Prof. Elm into
another room full of Pokéballs.
Prof. Elm: Am I right about three Pokémon
being needed with three Pokédexes?
Mark, Beth and Misty: Right!
Prof. Elm: Ok. Mark, would you like to
choose first?
Mark: What are the three Pokémon on offer?
Prof. Elm: There's a very young Marril,
well actually all of them are very young, there's a Magby and an aggressive
Machop.
Mark: Ok, I'll take the Magby!
Prof. Elm hands over Magby's Pokéball and
a Pokédex.
Prof. Elm: Here you go.
Mark: Thanks!
Prof. Elm: Ok, Beth next.
Beth: I'll take Marril!
Prof. Elm: Here's your Pokédex as well.
Beth: All right!!!
Prof. Elm: Just a minute Misty, I'll get
another Pokémon, because this Machop's got something against girls.
Prof. Elm comes back with a Pokéball.
Prof. Elm: This is just right for you
Misty. It's a really young Pichu that's gone through a lot already. Officer
Jenny found it near Tohjo Falls 3 weeks ago. At 1 month old it was abandoned by
its mother. It's been in the Pokémon Center until 2 days ago.
Misty: Why me though? I'm a Water Pokémon
trainer.
Prof. Elm: Look at the way you care for
Togepi. Pichu really needs a trainer like you. It'll become a terrible Pokémon
with me, and it needs a trainer to let it grow up properly. If you don't take
it, then it'll go to an inexperienced trainer who could neglect it.
Misty: Ok, I'll take it!
Prof. Elm: I knew you would! You wanted a
Pokédex too didn't you?
Misty: Please.
Prof. Elm: Here. Oh yeah, before you
leave, collect 5 Pokéballs each from my aide, ok?
Misty: Ok, thanks! We'll take care of our
Pokémon!
Prof. Elm: Keep in touch about how the
Pokémon are growing, ok? Oh, and Misty, Pichu may be old enough to find out
it's gender, ok?
Misty: Right. I need to sort out my
Pokémon anyway. See ya Prof!!!
Prof. Elm: See you three!
* * * * *
*Ash Brock and Jo are still on Route 46*
Jo: Ash, you are the dumbest person on
earth!!! I don't see how Misty sorted you out!
Ash: Quit it!
Jo: Why? You *are* dumb!
Ash: Am not!
Jo: Are too!
Ash: Not!
Jo: Are!
Ash: Not!
Jo: Are!
Ash: Are- doh!
Brock: Ok, you've proved your point; let's
get going already! Actually, don't bother. Instead, we must find somewhere dry
fast!!!
Jo and Ash: Why?
Brock: Look at that storm cloud!
* * * * *
*Misty and co are outside Prof. Elm's lab*
Misty: We'll go to the Pokémon Center,
cause that's where we sign up for the Johto League.
Mark: Right. And see if Pichu's a male or
female.
Misty: Another reason- look at that cloud
towards Mt Silver! We need to find safe shelter. That looks like the storm
cloud when we bumped into a ceremony in the Orange League.
5 minutes later, they're all at the
Pokémon Center waiting for the storm and for Joy to tell them the gender of
Pichu.
Beth: I can't wait to get on the road to
the Johto League.
Mark: One problem,
Beth: What?
Mark: How do we know where to go for the
Gyms?
Misty: It's ok. We get a guidebook when we
register for the League, and I've already been around Johto with Ash Ketchum.
Beth: Oh, he's the one who won the Orange
League isn't he?
Misty: Mmm Hmm.
Nurse Joy comes through to the waiting
room, with Pichu toddling along beside her.
Misty: So how is it?
Nurse Joy: It's just fine. By the way, do
you want to know what gender it is?
Misty: Yep!
Nurse Joy: Well, it's a female!
Misty: All right!!! Thanks Joy. Would you
be able to register us for the Johto League?
Nurse Joy: That's fine. Have you all got
programmed Pokédexes?
Beth: Yeah. I'll go first.
Joy inserts the Pokédex into a machine,
and types something in.
Computer: Currently accepting Bethany
Hawthorn... Welcome to the Johto League!
Joy does the same for Mark and Misty.
Joy: You're all registered for the Johto
League. Would you like a Guidebook each?
Misty: Yeah please.
Joy hands them all a Johto Guide Book.
Joy: Oh my! Look at the rain coming down
outside!
Misty: Oh no! Has Ash Ketchum been in this
Center recently?
Joy: Not that I know of.
Misty: Right! I can't leave that twerp
alone for one minute without him putting his life in danger! (Gets out
Pokégear) Knowing him he'll get struck by lightning or something!
* * * * *
Ring, ring, ring- beep!
Ash: Hi Misty! Where are you?
Misty: New Bar- No. I mean Viridian. We've
gone on a little break. Has there been a storm over there?
Ash: It's just starting.
Misty: Where are you?
Ash: Lost on Route 46.
Misty: HOW CAN YOU GET LOST ON ROUTE 46!!!
IT'S DOWNHILL ALL THE WAY!!! Get off that route and get to the nearest Pokémon
Center NOW!!!
Ash: Why?
Misty: Grrr... so lightning -dense head-
doesn't strike you!
Ash: Who says that'll happen to me?
Misty: Ash, everything happens to you.
Just look at what happened in the Orange Islands! How many people drown on
Lugia's back and survive? What I'm trying to say is that everything abnormal or
weird happens to you. Just play safe, all right?
Ash: Okay... we're on our way to New Bark
right now, okay? Jo's in charge of the map k?
Misty: Just so long you're out of the
storm.
Mark: (To Misty) You should see the news.
They've just said the storm's killed 12 people between Saffron and New Bark,
and it's getting worse!
Misty: Ash, just listen, the storm's
picking up strength quickly. Get to New Bark as soon as possible, 'coz it's
killed 12 people since Saffron! Right, I'll let you get here quicker. See ya
Ash!
Ash: Bye!
CLICK!!!
Brock: What did she want?
Ash: She says to get to New Bark quickly,
because this storm's killed 12 people in Kanto, and is getting stronger.
Jo: Come on then!
*5 minutes later, they're at the Pokémon
Center in New Bark Town. When they arrive, there's a massive bang outside as
lightning strikes a tree outside. Misty is in the foyer, but as soon as she
sees Ash, she quickly books a room for the three of them, and disappears
quickly*
Ash: You know, I could have sworn I just
saw Misty go into a dorm.
Brock: I doubt it Ash. She's in Viridian.
Ash: Come on, we'll book a room and spend
the rest of the day there.
They walk up to the main desk, and book a
room, then go into it. Unfortunately, it's next to Misty's room.
* * * * *
In Ash's room
Ash: You know, when I spoke to Misty
earlier, I swear she said to 'come here as soon as possible'. So that might
have been Misty! Not many people look as beautiful as her- DAMN!!!
Brock: What? What did I miss?
Jo: Ash said something about Misty being
beautiful, then realised we were there. I don't think we're supposed to know
that!
Ash: Hehehe... We should put the TV on to
see the latest on the storm.
* * * * *
In Misty's room
Misty: That was close! He almost saw me!
Mark: Shhh- there's someone talking next
door. They just said something about you.
Misty puts her ear to the wall to listen
to Ash's conversation. The storm is strengthening outside.
Misty: That's Ash! He did see me-
Nurse Joy comes into the room.
Nurse Joy: Everybody out of here now and
into the storm shelter in the basement! If we're not careful, the place will be
ripped apart!
She goes running out to Ash's dorm to tell
them the same message.
Misty: Come on! This is a good opportunity
to get going!
Mark: What? You mean we’re leaving?
Beth: But Joy said-
Misty: I can’t be caught! I’m really
sorry, but we’ll be safe, I promise!
Misty, Mark and Beth go running through
the lobby, and into the pouring rain. The thunder can be heard towards the
coast. The dull sky is frequently illuminated with lightning flashes. After 2
hours of walking to Cherrygrove, they all decide to call it a day at the
Pokémon center.
*Two mornings later*
Misty Mark and Jo are just outside Violet
city
Misty: You two wait there. I've just seen
a pokémon.
Misty walks off into the long grass. After
searching for a while, she comes across a Bellsprout.
Misty: Right, time for your first battle
Pichu. Go! Use your Charm attack!
Pichu uses Charm on Bellsprout, and while
it's still stunned, Misty throws a Pokéball at it.
Misty: Pokéball- go... All right! I've got
Bell- EEEEK!!! Get away from me you slimy thing!!
Mark: Misty, what's up?
Misty: That... that bug. Get it away from
me!!!
Beth: I can't believe you're scared of
bugs!
Mark: Go Magby! Use Ember on the Caterpie.
Is that better Misty?
Misty: Mmm hmm.
Beth: Well, you can come down from the
tree then! Besides, more bugs might be up there!
Misty: Quit it! I'm coming down- (SNAP!)
ARGH! (THUD!) Owww...
Beth: You ok? You came down quicker than
intended!
Misty: I will be when you stop pulling
wisecracks about bugs and me!
When Misty gets up, and as she stands on
her left foot, a searing pain shoots straight through her ankle.
Misty: (Wincing) Ow, my ankle.
Mark: What's wrong?
Misty: Nothing. I think I've just knocked
it. We'll get going. Come on, Violet's about 10 minutes from here!
20 minutes later, the gang is healing all
their Pokémon at the Pokémon center. Misty is hobbling over to a chair.
Mark: So much for it being 10 minutes
away! We took 20 minutes!
Misty: Well duh! That's because of my
ankle. (Sits down in chair) It would have been a 10-minute walk!
Beth: Here. All our Pokémon are healed.
When you're ready, we'll head up to the Gym. Misty, are you sure your ankle's
all right. It's a bit swollen isn't it?
Misty: I mean it-it's fine! Let's just get
going to the gym.
After half an hour of hobbling and *very*
slow walking, the gang arrives at Violet Gym.
Guard: Excuse me, where are you going?
Misty: To fight Falkner.
Guard: Sorry, only one competitor at a
time.
Mark: But... we're together-
Guard: That's the rule kid! You- what's
your name-?
Beth: I'm Beth sir.
Guard: Right. Beth may enter, followed by
the boy, then redhead hop along!
Misty: Mind who you're calling redhead!
I'm Misty, the Cerulean Gym leader for your information, and unless I give you
permission to, you've got to address me properly!
Guard: Well, I am extremely sorry for
insulting a gym leader. Please forgive me.
Misty: Well, good luck Beth.
Beth: Thanks!
Beth enters the high-rise gym, not knowing
what she's about to face.
Mark: I wonder what Falkner's like?
Misty: He's tough, and knowing him, he's
even tougher than before. Ash struggled to beat him!
Mark: Oh... that's me screwed from the
start! Let's go get something to eat.
30 minutes later, Beth comes out of the
Gym, and Misty and Mark have come back from their meal.
Misty: Beth, how did you do then?
Beth: I lost.
Mark: Oh well... I'm going in next. See ya
later!
Beth: Good luck!
Misty: Come on, I'll train with you.
Misty and Beth have a couple of battles,
then just sit down while letting their Pokémon play for a bit.
Misty: Pichu, come here a moment. I want
you to meet my Togepi.
Pichu: Chu? (Who?)
Misty: Togepi, come on out!
Togepi: Togi togi prriiiii! (Yay, mummy!)
Beth: What a cutie!
Misty: It's one of the first of it's kind,
right Togepi?
Togepi: Prrriii! (Yes!)
Pichu walks up to Togepi warily and stays
aware.
Pichu: Pi pi chu chupi! (Are you Togepi?)
Togepi: Togi! (Yes.)
Pichu and Togepi then begin playing when
Mark comes back.
Mark: Guess what... I WON!!!
Misty and Beth: Well done!
Misty: Was he easy?
Mark: Sort of. You just have to think of a
way to get past his Noctowl.
Misty: So his HootHoot evolved huh? Well,
I'd better go. See ya soon!
10 minutes later, Misty is entering the
gym.
Misty: Falkner! Long time no see!
Falkner: Hi Misty! What're you doing here?
Misty: To get the Zephyr badge off you.
I'm entering the league in 3 months!
Falkner: Okay. Is a three on three battle
okay with you?
Misty: It's fine! Starmie go!
Falkner: Pidgeot go!
Misty: Use Barrier then Ice Beam!
Falkner: Pidgeot, dodge it! Now use Mirror
move!
Misty: If that won't work, Thunderbolt!
Pidgeot falls as soon as the electricity
enters it's body.
Falkner: Pidgeot return! Go Charizard!
Misty: Starmie return. I choose you
Poliwhirl!
Falkner: Use Dragon rage!
Misty: Poliwhirl, take it easy! Use Perish
song!
Falkner: What! Use Hyper Beam Charizard-
shut it down!
Misty: Quick- use rain dance!
Poliwhirl goes down with the Hyper beam,
and Charizard falls shortly after.
Falkner: The match is tied. This calls for
you Noctowl!
Misty: Staryu's too weak, so Pichu, go!
Falkner: Noctowl, use Peck!
Misty: Pichu, use thundershock!
Falkner: Fly up high!
Misty: Come on- think... I know! Rain
dance makes Thunder 100% accurate, and Pichu inherited that off her father
according to the Pokédex, so use Thunder Pichu!
Falkner: NO!!! Noctowl, are you okay?
Well-battled Misty. You certainly deserve the Zephyr badge! Here.
Misty: Thanks Falkner. Come here you miniature
power plant!
Pichu: Pichu!
Misty: Well battled! Let's just hope all
your battles are like that!
Narrator: As Misty's Pichu shows it's
power right from the start in an impressive showdown with Falkner, just what
will happen to Misty and co. as they head for Azalea?
*~*~*~*~*
Well there we are at the end of another
chapter. Please read and review, and no flames like usual. I'd like to see more
reviews, coz only 10 people have told me what they think so far. The next
chapter will be up in about a fortnight, because I'm off to Belgium on a school
trip next Tuesday!
Until then, bye!
