This is part 2 of the story of how Keith Terrell caught Suicune. Now that you have read how the American driver for Ferrari nearly got killed trying to save Suicune, it's time to find out what happened after that night. Keith has been unconscious due to his injuries for 3 weeks. The Grand Prix of Canada has come and gone and there's just 5 days before the Grand Prix of Europe at the Nurburgring. Will Suicune get along with Keith or will all hell break loose?

How Keith Met Suicune
Part 2

"I'm sorry, sir. Mr. Terrell has not woken up yet." A doctor said to Ferrari team boss Jean Todt inside a Modena hospital. Keith was taken directly to there after the major fight with Team Rocket. Jean Todt, Ross Brawn or Rubens Barrichello went there every day for 3 weeks, just waiting to hear Keith complain about how bad the food was and how he wanted to get back in the car. The Ferrari team put in Luciano Burti in Keith's car at Canada and they wanted Keith to wake up, so he can race at the Euro GP. But, every day was the same. Keith was still unconscious.

"You kept on saying that for 3 weeks, doc!! Is he in a coma?" Jean Todt asked, becoming a bit pissed off on why the doctor can't figure out why Keith won't wake up. Looks like Luciano would once again race in Keith's place.

"I'm not sure why Mr. Terrell has not reawaken yet. My best guess is all the pain we went through in that beating. I guess he just passed out due to the pain. If Mr. Terrell does wake up, I will call you at once." The doctor said and he left the room to check up on other patients.

"First Michael's out for 2 years with his injuries. Now, Terrell's in a coma. What's going to happened to this team next?" Jean Todt asked himself as he left Keith's room and headed back to the Ferrari HQ. With 5 days left until the Grand Prix of Europe, Ferrari have decided to place Luciano Burti in Keith's car until their #2 driver has fully recovered. Keith's F1 debut was not going very well at the moment. His career has already hit rock bottom even before his career took off. The next day, the Ferrari team were already on their way to the Nurburgring in Germany and finally, Keith finally woke up from his long unconscious state. The first thing he thought was how in hell did he get in a white room. As he came to, he realized that he was in a hospital.

"Damn. I didn't know my injuries were that bad. What the hell am I doing here? I need to get to Canada." Keith said. He tried to move his body out of the bed, but the pain shot through his body from out of nowhere. These 3 weeks have helped heal up some of the damage, but his ankle and leg will take a long time to mend. The doctor came back in his room and found Keith finally awake and trying to get out of the bed.

"Mr. Terrell!! You're finally awake after all this time!!" The doctor said as he saw Keith try to move around, but with a load of pain through your body due to a fractured ankle and a broken leg, it was very hard.

"Huh? How long have I been out?" Keith asked, wondering what the doc meant by waking up after all this time.

"3 weeks." He answered,

"WHAT?!! 3 WEEKS?!!! I missed the GP of Canada?!!!" Keith yelled out, shocked to hear that he has been doing a Rip Van Winkle for 3 weeks.

,DD>"That's right, Mr. Terrell. And you might as well miss the European Grand Prix because you're really beat up." The doctor said as Keith laid back down on the bed, still cringing a bit from the pain. There was a few moments of silence before Keith spoke up.

"Tell me about it. I feel like roadkill, but I can't just lay here. I have to race." Keith said as he threw the bed sheets away from him and got out of the hospital bed,

"You can't leave here!! Your broken bones need time to heal!!" The doc said as Keith reached for his Ferrari suit that was sitting on a chair near the wall. Keith threw off the shirt the hospital got on him and got in his lucky t-shirt he wears when he races.

"I'm going to the Nurburgring. I am a driver for this team. That is my job." Keith said painfully as he got into the Ferrari suit that he wore 3 weeks ago. He slid into the suit carefully, cringing in pain as he got the suit on him. His broken ribs, his fractured left ankle and busted right leg were killing him as those areas just throbbed with pain. He had a hard time getting on his racing sneakers because of the broken ankle, but he did. He got his arms in the suit and when he felt everything was fine, he zipped it up and was ready to catch any place to Germany.

"Mr. Terrell!! You cannot race with a fractured ankle and a broken leg. Mr. Montezemolo said you're not going to lose your ride with Ferrari because you saved a Pokémon!! If you do not get out of that suit and return to your bed, I will have security force you back in there!!" The doctor ordered, but shut himself up when Keith brandished that combat knife that was in the suit's pocket. He held the knife at the doctor's throat for a minute.

"Us Americans don't like it when foreign people tell us what to do." Keith said evilly as he took the knife from the doctor's throat and left the room. All the doctors and nurses just moved out of his way. Keith had a plane to catch and an appointment in Germany with the team. He missed the Canadian Grand Prix due to being in an unconscious state for 3 weeks and didn't want to miss the European GP. He needed to race and nobody was going to stop him. That is, until he bumped into Formula One Supremo Bernie Ecclestone at the reception desk. Keith slumped down to the floor next to the wall when he heard a familiar voice call his name.

"Mr. Terrell, what in God's name are you on that floor and wearing that racing suit?! You're in no condition to go anywhere!" Bernie said, concerned foe the American driver's health. He wanted to talk to his doctors to see about Keith's injuries and how soon he can return to active racing with Ferrari before he jetted off to Germany. Seeing Keith trying to get back on his feet with a broken leg and fractured ankle didn't reassure the Boss of F1 at all. He needed Keith at 100% health before he could get in the Ferrari, but Keith is a man who can't be reasoned with when it comes to racing.

"I have to get back in that car! I was out for one race and I won't lose this once in a lifetime chance." Keith answered as he got back to his feet and limped towards the entrance. Nothing was going to stop him now. Not even Bernie. He wants to race. He needs to race. He won't be happy with anything else if he can't get a dose of g-forces and speed every week.

This boy is crazy if he does get back in that Ferrari. He'll injure himself permanently if he crashes during the event. This will be bad publicity for Formula One. Bernie thought for a second. He felt Keith's hand grab his arm tightly and started to drag him out of the hospital. Keith had a plan and it involved taking Bernie Ecclestone hostage.

"There's only one way Ferrari will let race the European Grand Prix. And you're my ticket to get back in my car. Nobody can argue against Bernie Ecclestone." Keith said as he dragged Bernie to the waiting car that was going to take him to the airport. Bernie knew not to piss off an American, especially one who is called The Patriot and could have the U.S. Air Force nuke the FIA HQ in Paris off the map. So, he just let Keith use him in his plan to get in the European GP or he would find himself looking straight down the barrel of an M-16 with a trigger happy U.S. Marine at the other end.

Sunday came around and the teams and drivers had less than two hours before the start of the Grand Prix of Europe got underway. Ferrari was struggling this while week. Rubens' engine blew up during qualifying, meaning the team had to change engines and go to the back of the field. Luciano had an even worse time when he blew an engine and crashed the primary car at the morning warm up. Both Ferraris are starting at the back of the 22-car field. Rubens looked at the Master Ball with Suicune in it, which was placed on top of his nightstand in his room. Since Rubens didn't know jack about Pokémon, he just kept Suicune in the Master Ball and wished Ash Ketchum would return to Formula One. For some reason, whenever anybody talked to Jos Verstappen about Ash, he would change the subject without answering. Rubens had no time to wonder if Jos is hiding anything. He had to race. David Coulthard has been on a tear of great finishes with McLaren and was in the lead of the Driver's Title. Rubens had to score points and fast and the Nurburgring has been nice to Rubens in the past. If he needed points, this race would be it. He grabbed his helmet and exited his room in the Ferrari motor home. He headed for the Ferrari garage and everybody around the Ferrari pits were in for a giant shock. The teams were in for a shock as well as they all heard a voice that wasn't even supposed to be there.

"Jean. I want to be in this race. I've raced with a busted ankle before." Keith's voice bellowed from the Ferrari pits as FIA TV cameras raced into the Italian team's garage. They saw Keith, who could barely stand up by himself, pleading his case with Ferrari team boss Jean Todt and Technical Director Ross Brawn. They were shocked to see Keith in Germany, eager to race despite nearly being killed!

"You're crazy, Terrell! Even if you had your bloody arm chopped off, I wouldn't even let you in the car! We can't risk having you get injured even more!" Ross Brawn said, trying to order Keith out of the garage. The American was being stubborn against the older and wiser man.

"I've had worse injuries than this, Ross. I can handle it. I'll pump myself up with painkillers before the race and when I come in for a pit stop." Keith said, still trying to convince the team to let him race. It wasn't working.

"Terrell... no. I will not let you even get close to that car. If you do, I will have Mr. Montezemolo fire you!" Jean Todt said sternly, hoping the scare tactics would make Keith realize he didn't need to race until his injuries were healed. Keith shrugged it off and got ready for his trump card.

"I think Mr. Ecclestone has something to say about this." Keith said as he went to his trump card, one Formula One Supremo. Bernie sighed as his name was called from Keith. He could have Terrell suspended without pay until he healed, but the American fans would kill him and Ferrari for not letting him race.

"I don't want the United States Marines barging into my office with their M-16's locked and loaded and in my face, Jean. He's racing. That's that. And if he injures himself even more, he's on his own." Bernie Ecclestone ordered to the Ferrari team. He knew that Keith was going to kiss him for doing that and the Ferrari team will probably want to kill him for letting Keith in the race. In the end, they just gave up. With 30 minutes before the race was to start, the crowd was informed that Keith Terrell will be racing and will start the race in 22nd place, the last spot on the grid. F1's resident doctor, Professor Sid Watkins saw the whole thing and came to the grid to supervise Keith's attempt to get in the car. Every inch Keith was in the car, it was excruciating. The pain department was working triple overtime as the tight confines of the cockpit. Keith slid himself in and somehow, he felt much better. Most of the pain went away as Keith felt right back at home in the car. The Professor gave Keith some painkillers and ordered the team to take a few moments to give Keith some more pills when he comes in for a pit stop. Everybody, including the whole Ferrari team and Bernie, thought that Keith wouldn't even make it to the halfway point of the race. They thought he would pull off the track early on, but... they would be wrong.

During the 71-lap event, Keith was mired in the back, fighting the drivers, the car, his injuries and anything else that would come up. Retirements up front helped him gain spots, as did several exiting passes during his first stint. When Keith came into the pits, the team handed him a bunch of extra painkillers during the stop to make any of his pain go away. He made his way up into the points after the halfway point and after his 2nd and final stop, he could himself in a fight with Eddie Irvine and his Jaguar for 4th place. On the final lap of the event, Keith summoned up all of his energy to force himself by Eddie in the final turn, nearly knocking both drivers out of the event. Eddie slammed on the brakes and gave up his 4th place to Keith as they crossed the finish line.

All of Keith's painful hard work behind the wheel paid off as he crossed the start/finish line in 4th place. He has earned his first ever Formula One points with 5 Points and the respect of the teams and drivers in the Formula One paddock. Nobody would expect him to make it to halfway, let alone finish the race with his injuries and make a daring pass on Irvine in the final corner. Each lap was painful every time Keith braked in the corners and when he hit the gas. The g-forces weren't helping him at all and even when he came in for tires and fuel, he couldn't get rid of the pain. He took a very long time returning to the pits and heading to Parc Ferme. In fact, it would be 12 minutes before he would arrive. His Ferrari coasted into the pits and the Arrows guys pushed him to Parc Ferme, where the Ferrari team was already there with Rubens, the race winner. Everybody there was very worried about Keith and his well being. They were all shocked to see him arrive at the track with Bernie Ecclestone and forced the Ferrari team to put Keith in the car.

"What a run by the American, Keith Terrell. With a bunch of broken ribs, a broken leg and a fractured ankle, he fights the pain and takes 4th place and 5 points from Eddie Irvine in the final turn. Keith's the Man of Steel!!" One of the Speed Channel guys said as the Ferrari team helped Keith out of the Ferrari. There, he was placed in a stretcher and was read to go to the hospital.

"No doubt about that. You could probably shoot Keith full of lead and he'll get in the car and race." The second Speed Channel guy said as the TV cameras focused on Keith, being loaded into the ambulance. Seconds later, the door closes and the ambulance takes off for a hospital nearby.

"Well, how about that. Keith finished. And he finished in 4th. I guess we were wrong about him." Ross said as everybody went to pack up the cars for the trip back to their respectful shops,

"It will be a miracle if he races at Silverstone in 2 weeks." Jean Todt said,

"He'll show up. And everybody will have a lot of respect for what he did today." Rubens added. The Ferrari team wasn't in the mood to celebrate today and decided to just pack up and return to Italy. On the other hand, they were impressed with Keith's performance and he got them valuable Constructor Championship points in their pursuit of McLaren. After staying at a German hospital overnight, Keith was shipped back to Italy the next day and was ordered by the team not to leave his apartment and stay in bed!!! Fearing that the team might fire him, Keith did just that and stayed in bed for 4 days straight. It helped out a lot for his injured body to recover, but he was as stiff as a board after 4 days rest.

The week after the European GP, Keith dragged himself out of bed. He needed to move around, so he decided to head to the Ferrari HQ and see if Rubens still had that Master Ball that had Suicune inside it. After throwing on a pair of new clothes, Keith made the walk to the base, albeit a bit slow due to his injuries and stiffness. He found Rubens sitting on the step of the house, polishing his helmet and just taking in the beautiful day in Italy.

"Hello, Keith. Sleep well these past 4 days?" Rubens asked,

"No. I'm stiff as hell." Keith answered,

"Well, we got another week before we head to Silverstone. By then, you'll be not as stiff and ready to race." Rubens said as he dipped the cloth into a thing of helmet wax and rubbed in into the helmet.

"Rubens, what did you do with that ball that I used to save Ross?" Keith asked,

"Oh, that "Master Ball" thing? Here it is." Rubens said as the two went inside. He put his helmet on the table and looked around his suitcase, which still hasn't been unpacked since he returned with the team. A minute later, he found the Master Ball with Suicune in it. "I don't know what is in this thing, but be careful." Rubens said as he handed Keith the Ball. Keith just nodded and left Rubens' room. Keith exited the house and took a walk to his apartment in town. He went inside and grabbed his backpack from his bed and left the apartment. Keith headed for a big city park, which was near his apartment. After finding a shady spot in the park, Keith sat down on the grass and looked at the Master Ball.

"Now to see what the hell you really are, buddy." Keith said as he looked at the black and white ball with a silver trim. He looked for a switch to open the thing, but he didn't find any. "You the hell do you open this thing?" He asked and just tossed it in the air. He was about to catch it when the Master Ball finally opened up. The popping sound of the Master Ball scared the crap out of Keith as the Legendary Pokémon, Suicune appeared in front of him, but it was sleeping.

Suicune's injuries were still present, but its leg has healed up. Keith felt bad for what he did to Suicune. He felt as low as Team Rocket when he did that. He reached into his pack and took out a first aid kit. The least he could do was patch up some of Suicune's wounds as it slept peacefully. Keith realized that Suicune can recover from injuries really fast. This Pokémon just amazed him to no end. And to think he saw this Pokémon flash by him at high speeds at Paul Ricard weeks ago. As Keith laid down on the grassy embankment, Suicune started to wake up.

[What? I'm out of that forsaken Master Ball of Team Rocket's? But... If they captured me, why am I still in this place called Italy?] Suicune asked himself as he looked at Keith, who was looking up at the blue sky. Keith thought Suicune was still sleeping, so he decided to just look at him again. What he didn't expect was Suicune looking right at him, ready to kill at a moment's notice. [Are you with Team Rocket?!!] Suicune asked angrily. Even though Keith can't understand the Pokémon language, Suicune's words came loud and clear in his mind.

"I can understand you. Why?" Keith asked surprised,

[I am a Legendary Dog Pokémon. I have the ability to make you understand my language.] Suicune answered,

"You're a Pokémon? What's that? Are you a giant dog from Team Rocket?" Keith asked, thinking that this was some crazy dream that he was going to wake up from any minute.

[You have not heard of Pokémon?! What planet are you from?!!] Suicune asked surprised. This man hasn't heard of Pokémon? Well, it's true.

"No. I'm from the United States of America. Only thing I know about Pokémon is that Ash Ketchum has this mouse that can shoot out thunderbolts. But, I've never seen a real Pokémon until 3 weeks ago. That was when Team Rocket was attacking you.

[They were trying to capture me!! And you're one of those Team Rocket bastards, too!!!] Suicune said angrily, not knowing the real deal of what happened. After Suicune accused Keith of being a Rocket, he got real angry with the Legendary Dog. Team Rocket are nothing but terrorists and Keith being from New York City, Suicune hit a nerve with that. It was after the F1 blitzkrieg that the C.I.A. and the F.B.I. started to investigate Team Rocket. Turns out that they are terrorists and have found plans to attack key U.S. cities in the near future.

"WHAT?!!! A member of those... TERRORISTS?!!! I hate Team Rocket!!! I hate terrorists!!! I hate them!! Once the United States of America get a hold of them, we'll send the Marines, the Army, the Air Force, the Navy, our military power to crush those bastards!!! We'll make them all pay for 9/11!!" Keith screamed. His hatred was past the boiling point. He clenched his fists, fell to his knees and punched the ground hard. He punched the ground many times in rage. He still has nightmares about the attacks on the World Trade Center and watching them fall to the ground. He gets very emotional about that. His eyes filled up with tears as his anger subsided and he sat back on the ground and brought his knees to his face and cried for the innocent people that were lost on that day. "Those people... those innocent people. Those firemen, the medics, all the families of the deceased..." Keith cried out as his tears were falling from his eyes. Suicune could see the pain and hurt in Keith's soul.

"I AM NOT A MEMBER OF TEAM ROCKET!!! I SAW THEM TRYING TO CATCH YOU AND I DECIDED TO TEACH THEM A LESSON!! I SAVED YOUR ASS FROM TEAM ROCKET, SO I CAUGHT YOU!!!" Keith yelled out, scaring the Dog Pokémon at this display of raw emotion. Keith had a right to be angry. Some Pokémon has questioned his pride as an American and he wasn't going to take it.

[You... caught me to protect me from Team Rocket?] Suicune asked. This time, it was his turn to be surprised.

"You were going to attack Ross, so I had no choice but to catch you. So, I tossed that ball and caught you. You can leave if you want. I don't care. I have no use for a Pokémon anyway." Keith said harshly as he kept his eyes locked on the ground, ignoring Suicune's stares before walking away. There was a long time of silence as Suicune decided that Keith wanted him to be free and was about to leave, but part of him wanted to stay with Keith. Since he hates Team Rocket with a passion, it wouldn't be a bad idea to stay with the American. He wouldn't have to deal with Eusine, the man who has been trying to catch him for years and Team Rocket. After just looking at Keith for 10 minutes, he decided that staying with Keith wasn't a bad idea in the long run. It would also give Suicune the chance to tell Keith all about the world of Pokémon and tell him about his role with Ho-oh, plus he won't have to deal with Team Rocket or Eusine. Suicune walked back to where Keith was still crying, but his emotional burst was at its end and he dried away his tears.

[I don't want to be caught by Team Rocket and used for their evil genetic experiments. What you happen if they tried to take me again?] Suicune asked, curious on how the American will answer.

"Simple. A few drivers and me would find them and kill them in broad daylight and get away with it. The Formula One World Championship has a personal vendetta against Team Rocket. Those bastards killed 3 of our drivers last year." Keith said as he wiped away some loose tears from his face,

[Oh. I didn't know.] Suicune answered meekly, finally figuring out why a bunch of men were attacking Team Rocket with no concern for their own well being.

"A lot of people around the world didn't either. In fact, they still don't know we did that." Keith said, remembering all the rumors about the F1 blitzkrieg against Team Rocket, saying that Team Rocket killed 3 drivers and Michael Schumacher ordered the attacks against Kanto and Johto. He was more shocked to find out that the rumors were actually true.

Too bad I wasn't with them when Michael and the others went after Team Rocket! I would have gotten rid of a bunch of them for my country!! The day Team Rocket attacks the United States, is the day they meet their match!! Keith thought to himself. He then felt Suicune crawl on top of his lap. This was Keith's first real look at Suicune up close. Suicune was a really big dog and is amazingly fast for his size. Keith thought that Suicune would be about 6'7" tall just standing still and he would be 4 inches shorter of Suicune sat down. This dog Pokémon towered over Keith. The American stood around 5'11" tall, so he was shorter than the dog Pokémon.

"You know... ever since I was a little kid, I've always wanted a dog. But, my grandparents wouldn't let me keep one." Keith said as he started to scratch Suicune's chin a bit. Maybe the Legendary Dog Pokémon is actually warming up to Keith in a way.

[Well, maybe now is the chance to have a dog like me. I mean, the last thing I want to do is to go back to Kanto and Johto and have Team Rocket after me.] Suicune said as Keith stroked Suicune's head for a minute,

"Sure. Why not? I don't have many friends I can talk these days. But, the team will think I'm going crazy talking to you." Keith answered, deciding that having Suicune around ain't such a bad idea.

[Do they know about Pokémon?] Suicune asked,

"Only Michael Schumacher does. On the other hand, let's scare the crap out of them!!" Keith said with a mischievous look on his face. One thing about Keith is, that he's known to scare guys a lot with unusual things.

[I have to see this.] Suicune said and the two started walking from the park to the Ferrari HQ. No more Eusine, no more Team Rocket, no more pesky trainers trying to catch him, no more everything. To Suicune, staying with a Formula One driver who has no idea what Pokémon is and hates Team Rocket to death, was probably the best decision the dog Pokémon has made. The only problem was what will Entei, Raikou and Ho-oh think about this?

Sure enough, the whole Ferrari team was scared when they saw Keith walk up with Suicune trailing behind him. Ross Brawn ran for his life, Jean Todt was paralyzed in fear, Rubens was unsure what Suicune has done to Keith and the others just panicked. Suicune just smiled, finally knowing that staying with Keith Terrell as his first Pokémon, wasn't such a bad idea after all. It's going to be different for both of them, but Keith was always up for a challenge and Suicune was already looking forward to seeing what the life of an F1 driver is like.
