Chapter: 1


"Oh  I  forgot!,"  gasped  Josh  pulling  out  his  mother's  package  and  ripping  it  open. 

As  the  box  opened  ten  poke'balls  rolled  out  onto  the  ground  along  with  a  piece  of  paper.  Josh  reached  down  and  picked  up  the  paper  as  Matt  picked  up  the  poke'balls. 

"Wow!,"  Josh  said  taking  five  of  the  poke'balls  and  putting  them  into  his  pocket.  "What  is  it?,"  asked  Matt  snatching  the  paper  for  Josh. 

"Why  did  your  mom  get  us  some  poke'balls?,"  asked  Matt  as  he  put  the  poke'balls  on  his  belt  and  started  to  walk. 

"I  don't  know,  but  it  doesn't  matter  lets  just  catch  some  poke'mon!,"  said  Josh  letting  Tyrogue  out  to  streach  his  legs,  "What  poke'mon  did  you  get,  Matt?" 

"Oh,  I  got  Igglybuff.,"  said  Matt  letting  Igglybuff  out  to  walk,  "I  nicknamed  it  Puffy." 

"Ok,"  Josh  started,  "the  Town  Map  says  that  there  is  ten  types  of  basic  poke'mon  on  route  three." 

"What  are  they?,"  asked  Matt  looking  at  his  Town  Map. 

"There's  Caterpie,  Weedle,  Pidgey,  Spearow,  Nidoran  male,  Nidoran  female,  Sentret,    Ledyba,  Spinarak,  Chinchou,  Oh  and  there's  also  Hoothoot,  but  it  only  comes  out  at  night."  said  Josh  slipping  the  map  into  his  pocket,  "We 
better  start  catching." 

"Where  should  we  star...,"  but  Matt  wasn't  able  to  finish;  all  of  the  sudden  the  ground  started  to  rumble  and  a  dust  cloud  started  to  apear  in  the  distance  coming  up  the  road. 

"Nido  Rampage!!!,"  Josh  yelled  grabbing  Tyrogue  and  running  to  the  woods  beside  the  road,  Matt  grabbed  Puffy  and  did 
the  same. 

When  the  rampage  finished  Matt  gasped,  "Where.....did.....those  things.....come.....  from?!" 

Josh  waited  to  catch  his  breath  then  he  said,  "I  forgot  it's  mating  season." 

"But  I  thought  that  only  Nidoqueen  and  Nidoking  could  mate.,"  said  Matt  sitting  beside  a  tree. 

"Yes  that's  true,  but  they  get  together  and  both  find  a  Moonstone  then  they  mate.,"  said  Josh  helping  Matt  up. 

Just  then  a  single  Nidorino  came  out  of  the  woods  limping. 

"Oh  no!,"  gasped  Josh  running  over  to  it  but  being  very  cautious. 

Just  then  Tyrogue  popped  out  of  its  poke'ball  and  stopped  Josh  then  it  went  over to  it  and  started  to  talk  to  it.  Then  they  both  walked  over  to  Josh.  Tyrogue  started  to  say  something  to  Josh,  but  he  couldn't understand.  When  he  didn't  respond  or  do  any  thing  tyrogue  jumpped  up  and  grabbed  a  poke'ball  off  of  Josh's  belt. 

"I  think  Tyrogue  wants  you  to  catch  it.,"  said  Matt  elbowing  Josh. 

"I  know,  but  do  you  think  that  a  poke'ball   will  catch  it?,"  asked  Josh  taking  the  ball  from  Tyrogue  and  recalling  it,  "Here  goes!  Go  poke'ball"  the  ball  hit  Nidorino,  it  disappeared  into  the  ball,  and  snapped  shut.  The  ball  wiggled  once  then  twice  and  even  a  third  time  then  it  locked.

"You  see  I  think  a  poke'mon  knows  best!,"  said  Matt  tugging  on  Josh, "Now  lets  get  going!"


"Ok  the  map  says  that  the  next  town  is  only  a  hill  away.,"  said  Josh  point  to  the  hill  on  down  the  road. 

"Yea  ok.,"  said  Matt  as  if  he  wasn't  paying  any  attention. 

"What  is  it?,"  Josh  asked. 

Then  Josh  heard  something,  but  before  he  could  turn  around  something   hit  him  in  the   and knocked  him  down.  When  he  got  back  up  to  seewhat  had  hit  him  he  relized  that  Matt  was  fighting,  but  the  commands  that  he  gave  Puffy  wasn't  what  Puffy  was  doing.  Matt  had somehow  come  across  a  Beeddrill. 

"HOLY  SMOKES!!!,"  yelled  Josh  hitting  the  ground  again. 

"Puffy  Return!  Go  poke'ball!,"  yelled  Matt  then  helping    Josh  up. 

"I  thought  that  Beedrill  did'nt  exist  here.,"  said  Josh  wipping  the  dirt  off  of  his  paints. 

"Yes  I  know,  but  sometimes  a  Weedle  is  able  to  remain  in  the  wild  long  enough  toaq become  a  Kakuna  and  then  a  Beedrill;  however  this  happens  so  so  so  rarely  that  only  one  other  trainer  has  reported  one."  said  Matt  just  as  they  topped  the  hill  that  had  the  first  city  at  its  base.

"Hey  why  don't  we  go  by  Poke'center  and  call  my  mom.,"  Josh  requested. 

"Ok  and  I  can  call  my  dad  at  the  lab.,"  said  Matt  as  they  entered  the  Poke'center. 

"Hi  Nurse  Joy!,"  said  Josh  as  he  walked  over  to  the  counter. 

"Oh,  hi  boys  I  wasn't  expecting  to  see  any  one  today.," 

"Why?,"  asked  Matt  laying  his  poke'balls  on  the  counter. 

"Oh,  the  Nido  Rampage.,"  but  she   couldn't  finish  Josh   interrupted  and  said,  "Hey  do  you  hear  that???"  "Oh  my  goodnes  it's  a second  wave!!!,"  yelled  nurse  Joy  ducking  behind  the  counter. 

Matt  and  Josh  ran  out  side  just  as  the  rampage  started  to  pass. 

"Look!," yelled  Josh  pointing  to  the  end  of  the  line.  A  Butterfree  and  a  Ledian  were  fighting  with  a  Nidoking  at  the  rear. 

"That's  probably  what  started  the  rampage!,"  Matt  yelled  over  the  noise. 

"We  have  to  stop  them!,"  yelled  Josh  reaching  for  his  poke'ball  with  Nidorino  inside. 

"No,  it  won't  help!,"  yelled  Matt  grabbing  Josh's  arm. 

"We  have  to  give  it  a  try!,"  Josh  yelled  tugging  loose  of  Matt's  grip  and  letting  Nidorino  out.   "Nidorino  Horn  Attack!,"  yelled  Josh  pointing  toward  the  Ledian. 

Nidorino  jumpped  into  the  air,  its  horn  turning,  and  hit  Ledian  hard  in  the  side.  Then Ledian  and  Butterfree  turned  their  attention  toward  Nidorino.  Nidoking  then  bellowed  and  the  rampage  turned  and  went  the  opposite  way.  Ledian  used  its  Sleep  Powder,  but  Nidorino  wasn't  affected.  Nidorino  then  used  Headbutt  and  hit  Butterfree  hard  in  the  head  and  fainted  it.  Then  Ledian  used  Comet  Punch,  but  Nidorino  countered  it  with  a  Headbutt  and  knocked  it  out. 

"Thank  heavens  you  boys  caught  those two  poke'mon!,"  said  Officer  Jenny  walking  up  to  Matt  and  Josh. 

"Oh,  we  didn't  catch  them.,"  said  Josh  putting  Nidorino  back  into  his  poke'ball. 

"Well  if  you  didn't  catch  them  I  will.,"  said  Officer  Jenny  before  throwing  a  poke'ball  at  them  both,  "Oh  by  the  way  I  want  you  both  to  have  this."  Then  Officer  Jenny  handed  them  each  a  gold  nugget  and  walked  off. 

"Oh,  Officer Jenny!,"   yelled  Josh  running  up  to  her,  "Why'd  we  need  to  catch  them?" 

"Oh,  these  two  poke'mon  have  been  causing  loads  of  problems,  bye  now  I  have  lots  of  work  to  do.,"  she  said  as  she  walked  into  the  police  station. 

"Well  lets  eat  lunch  and  heal  our  poke'mon.,"  said  Matt  walking  into  the  poke'center. 

"Good  idea!,"  said  Josh  following  him  inside.
