What Awaits in the Soul
of the World'

The light of the candle was dying, but no one in the dark room seemed to
notice- or care. The candle didn't even burn off real light, only a darker
black that seemed to absorb any light persecuting the line of the Soul World.
Gary shifted uneasily in the audience of dark souls. Though they were hidden in
the darkness, he could feel their raspy breath and metalic grins; their eyes
seemed to wander the room, waiting for the few moments they would get to see
light again. Of course, not real light, like the sun or flourecsent lamp, but a
projection of black magic; of torture. He'd seen the same thing day after day
for the past two years, just had everyone else had seen theirs. Their dreams,
that is. The jealousy lurking in the deepest wells of their mind, all brought
together, transferred from the real world to their minds, all to drive them
mad.
Gary's mind had only had one worst nightmare, the assortment of Ash. You could
have simply guessed from the beginning they were born enemies. Both of them
dispized eachother, and these projections weren't helping things.
Or maybe they were. Maybe there was one thing that kept Gary sane and
determined, goaled and destined...what if it were Misty.
At first Gary had saw her as a puny girl...someone who fit right into Ash's
groupies. Over time he had noticed she was dedicated to her life and something
else...he could never put a finger on it. Something she had that he needed.
Something that could free him, yet still allow her to be his. It was only until
a couple days ago he was stumped in lack of answers. Now he knew. It was
exactly everything he thought it was. Her. Her innocence. Her life. Her
attitude. Her determination. Her innocence...
The projection started, painfully digging through his mind and cramming
thoughts of Ash and Misty's journey into it. Instead of surrcomming to the meak
illusion of Ash's glory that portrubbed his brain, he planned. By now he knew
he was in love with Misty. Maybe not the kind of love you need to feel right,
but the love that you sometimes desire. The love you feel you need to be
superior over others. He needed it. Badly.
And that, is where the story really begins...
By using what little advantadge he had left over his brain, Gary managed to devise
a plan to overcome the Hell- hole he now conveniently called home. The only way
to get out, was to have something to grasp in the mortal world... he already
knew what that was. All he had to really do was get her to a point of death-
pull her into the afterlife- and make sure she lived long enough to pull both
himself and herself back into the real world. Chances were dim, but they were
chancable. All he had to do was hope the odds would turn to him. Of course,
back on Earth...there was some major hell to pay...to everyone that did him
wrong. And Ash was first on his list. Collecting bits of energy that wandered
the Shadow World, he created the power to allure Misty into his trap...and the
day came where he decided to begin...
