Hehehe, this is my first fanfic EVER!
It's an AAMRN fic, but I tried to make it original and funny.
Oh, well, anyway: ON WITH THE FIC!
Oh yes, and I don't own pokemon, Ash, Misty, Brock, or Pikachu.
So, without further ado, here's the fic!
Ash's Nightmare: a Dream Come True
by Kenshin
Misty looked on in horror as the swarm of Scythers devoured her last
precious pokemon.
"Polywrath!" she screamed, tears streaming down her face. Why? Why was this
happening?
She was almost irrational with grief, but one thought kept asserting itself
in her mind:
'I'm going to die' she though. 'I've failed my pokemon, and now I'm going to
join them.'
She sobbed as she leaned back against the wall of the ruined house and
curled up into a ball.
Polywhirl...Starmie...Staryu...Totodile...Squirtle...all gone. Thinking of
Squirtle and Totodile
made it even worse...not only had she failed her pokemon, she had failed
Ash's as well. "Ash..."
she sobbed, "Where are you Ash?"
"PIKACHU, THUNDER WAVE!!"
"CHUUUUUUUUU!!!!" (You didn't seriously think that she WAS going to die, did
you? (^_^))
A giant bolt of electricity engulfed the swarming Scythers, causing most to
suddenly jerk violently
before coming to a complete halt. "Ash?" cried Misty. "It's okay Misty, I'm
here now," said Ash, stepping
out from behind some foliage. "Stay there, I'm coming to get you," he said
evenly, trying to calm her
down.
Suddenly, the largest Scyther lept from where it had been standing and
charged full tilt at Misty! "No,
Misty!" yelled Ash. "Pikachu, Thunderbolt!" "Pikapi pikachu!" Another bolt
shot out at the charging
bug pokemon as Pikachu jumped out of his hiding place in a nearby tree.
However, the Scyther suddenly
sped up, using agility. As the bug pokemon closed to within striking
distance Misty's eyes grew wide and
she curled her body into a tigher ball, hugging her knees to her chin.
"ASHHHHHHHH!" she screamed. "MISSSTYYYYY! NOOOO!" Then, Scyther struck,
slashing with both of its scythe-
like arms. Misty let out a blood-curdling scream. "MISTYYYYYYY!!!" Ash
screamed, as he fell to his knees,
sobbing.....
***
"MISTTYYYYYYY!" Ash screamed, as he sat bolt upright in his sleeping
bag....well, at least he tried to. He
was in a sleeping bag, after all. *RIPPP* Ash's heart was pounding, and he
was drenched in sweat. "Misty?
Misty!? Where are you?!?" yelled Ash. He was still so hysterical with fear
and heartache that he didn't
know where he was.
"Ash, quiet down!" yelled Brock angrily, "I'm trying to sleep over here!"
'Sheesh' thought Brock 'that guy
needs to lay off the caffiene...' "What is it Ash? What's wrong?" Misty
sounded concerned. Why was
he suddenly calling out her name in a panic? "Misty!" said Ash, beginning to
calm down. "Yeah, what is it
Ash? What's gotten into you?" asked Brock.
*Whew* "Sorry...I guess I was having a nightmare," sighed Ash. "A
nightmare?" asked Misty, confused. "Why
would you suddenly yell my name when you woke up from a nightmare?"
"Well...." said Ash. 'Should I really tell
her?' "Ash...." she began, threatheningly. 'If he was having perverted
thoughts about me, I swear....'
"Well, to tell you the truth, you were being attacked by a bunch of
Scythers..." said Ash, quietly. "Scythers?
Yuck! I hate bugs!" yelped Misty. "Ash, that's so cruel...why would you
dream something like that?" chimed in
Brock. "Was she scared?" he whispered to Ash "Was she screaming for you to
rescue her...I bet it was kind of
romantic..." Misty whacked him on the head with a mallet. "I heard that
Brock!"
"Actually, they got all her pokemon and were about to get her, too. That's
when I showed up with Pikachu. I
paralyzed them, but one got loose and......" his voice trailed off. "And
what?" insisted Misty, "That still
doesn't explain why you screamed my name when you woke up."
"Well....it kinda.....avoidedPikachu'sattackandkilledyou....." he said
quietly, not wanting to really tell her.
"It WHAT!? Ash Ketchum, you mean you let a stupid bug kill me in you own
DREAM!" she yelled at the top of her
lungs. "YOU STUPID JERK!" Ash flinched and prepared for pain.
"Wait. How could he help that?" asked Brock.
"Well...he could have...ummmm.." Misty trailed off.
"I'm sorry Misty. I'm really sorry." Ash had tears in his eyes. "I thought
that you were dead and I was next. I
didn't know what to do. That's what woke me up...the thought that you were
gone." Ash blushed. 'If only Brock
weren't here...' thought Ash. 'I'd tell Misty how I felt.'
"Ash..." said Misty. 'Wow, it must have shaken him up a lot for him to be
acting this weird.'
"Ummm, I'm kinda thirsty," said Brock. "I'm gonna go get a drink over by the
stream."
Ash stared at the ground, too embarassed by his dream to look at Brock
leaving or Misty sitting a short distance from him.
Misty stared at Ash, not knowing what to say.
"Ash?" she said, tentatively. He looked up at her, startled out of his daze.
"Yes?" he asked, his voice quavering. She
could see tears in his eyes. She decided to try to get his mind off of her
supposed death. "What else was in your dream?"
'Doh! That wasn't a great question to ask to get his mind off of it!' said
thought, scolding herself. "Well," he started,
"actually, I wasn't even in it until the end. It sort of started off with
you and Daisy in Cerulean City at the gym. I
don't know why, but almost all pokemon were different in my dream. Most of
them were evil, and their powers were somewhat
changed too. They were killing everyone that wasn't in a populated area that
had pokemon to defend it. I think they
actually took down several cities too, including Cerulean. You escaped the
city, but Daisy didn't make it. You were
trying to make it to Pallet to find me. We hadn't been in contact for a
while, because all phone and mail service had
stopped working, due to the wild pokemon. I....I know what caused my
nightmare, now that I think about it."
"What's that?" asked Misty. 'Whew, I think he's finally calming down. Maybe
it *is* a good idea to get this out of his
system right now anyway' she thought.
"I think...I think it was THIS STUPID BOOK THAT BROCK GAVE ME!" he said
angrily. He tossed the book over to Misty. She
looked a little startled, but then she opened the book's cover. "Ravenloft
campaign setting...roleplaying game...."
she flipped a few pages. "Mist of corruption.....Plane of Darkness..."
(Okay, so I'm making some of this stuff up, but I
don't play Ravenloft. Truth be told, I play Forgotten Realms :-P) "Ash, I
can't believe that jerk Brock gave this to you.
Why did he do that?" said Misty, shocked. "Well, he said he used to play and
wanted to know if I would start playing it
while we were on the road." "Not if it gives you nightmares, you're not,"
said Misty, sternly.
'Wow, what's gotten into Misty all of a sudden?' thought Ash. "Speaking of
Brock, where is he anyway? It shouldn't take
him this long to get a drink of water, should it?" "Who cares?" she said,
"Maybe he realized what caused your nightmare
and didn't want to stick around to get beat on."
"Uhhh, Misty, why are you so upset over this? I thought you were just angry
because you died in my dream, but you seem
angry at Brock now." Ash asked, confused. "Oh, uhhhh...*blush* I
just..ummm....I don't like....I mean..I care about...you."
she stammerd. 'What did I do that for?' Her thougts raced. 'Did I really
just say that? Shit!'
"Misty?" asked Ash, voice quavering, "Did you just say...you...care about
me?" He was shocked. She really did have feelings
for him. 'Calm down Ash, maybe she just means, like, platonic caring between
friends...' His heart was racing. 'That has to
be it! I'm so dense! I can't even read emotions! I'm such an idiot! Why
would she care for me? How could she love an idiot
like me?' He started to sob.
"Ash? Ash? Why are you crying?" Misty's heart started to ache. 'I guess he
really doesn't care about me....but then, how
could he? We always fight all the time. Brock is probably the only reason he
hasn't left me behind. Brock must be
telling Ash to hold the group together. What a fool I've been. How could me
love me?'
"Misty?/Ash?" They both looked at each other, a little startled that they
had spoken at the same time. "Go ahead." said
Misty. "No, you first." said Ash. 'Wait...why is he being so unselfish? He's
probably just trying to make me feel better.
Well, if we're this close to telling our true feelings, I may as well spill
my guts. After all, if he wants to leave me
behind anyway, I have to tell him before he does or I'll always wonder what
would have happened if I had.'
"Okay, here goes......Ash, I love you. I don't know when I realized it, or
how long I have, but I love you. I don't know how
you feel. In fact, you probably hate me because we fight all the time. If
you want to leave me behind, that's fine, but
I had to tell you." Misty started to cry as she finished.
*Sob* "I'm sorry Misty...." 'I *knew* it. He hates me. I'm such a little
fool.' "I'm sorry I never told you that I loved
you until now. I'm such a jerk. I don't deserve you. I always thought that
we were good friends, but I was afraid that if
I confessed to you, I would lose that friendship. I'm...*sob*..so sorry...."
"Ash!" Misty cried, the tears streaming down her face were no longer tears
of grief, but tears of joy. "Misty! I love you!"
Misty leaned forward, eyes closing. Ash's heart started pounding again. He
crawled forward to kiss her....and his foot caught
on his ripped sleeping bag! He fell forward, pushing Misty to the ground.
Their front teeth clacked together, and Misty
yelped in pain.
"Oh NO! Misty, are you okay? I'm sorry! I'm such a klutz!" Ash stammered.
"I'm okay. I know you're uncoordinated, but....
you're my klutz now."
"Misty..." his voice trailed off. "KISS HER ALREADY, YOU IDIOT!!!" someone
yelled just off screen....errr..I mean outside
the campsite. Ash was so startled that he suddenly leaned in and kissed
Misty fiercly. His tounge slip between her lips and
danced with hers. They began to madly feel each other's bodies. The suddenly
both of their eyes snapped open at once. "What
the?" said Ash. "BROCK!!!" yelled Misty. "Uh-oh." said Brock. "Pika-pi!
(Run, Brock, run!)"
Misty leapt to her feet and started towards where Brock was hiding in some
bushes. "I'll just be leaving now...Bye!"
Misty yelled, "Hold it, Brock!" But Brock was already spriting away at top
speed. Misty's glowing red eyes turned their gaze
on Pikachu. "And how long have you been watching?" "Pikachu, chu Pikachu!
(Wait up Brock!)" Pikachu scampered off at top
speed. "Wow," commented Ash, "I didn't really think he could run that fast."
Misty chuckled. She walked back over to where
Ash was sitting on her sleeping bag and plopped down beside him. "Now, where
were we?" she asked, grinning slyly.
"I...uh...." Ash gulped, then blushed. "It's okay Ash. I want you. Please."
she said, a pleading look in her eyes.
"I've waited so long for this moment." "Misty...I love you."(Okay, I know
that line is getting old, but he can't think
of anything else to say, okay? Besides, he's slow on the uptake and....well,
you'll see. *grin*)
