Part Five ~ The One

Jessie was feeling something way beyond shock. She sniffed and then withdrew from his arms slightly to look at James with a very blank expression.
"Wh-what did you say??" she asked, breathing heavily. Then, James took Jessie’s hands into his and looked into her eyes soulfully.
"I love you, Jessie." he repeated. Jessie’s eyes grew wide, and she squeezed his hands in return, then slowly wrapped her arms around his neck.
"Oh James…." she whispered against his cheek. "I love you too." James slipped his hands around Jessie’s waist, then caught her lips in a timeless passionate kiss. At last, all of their cares and worries were melting away, their dreams were coming true, they were able to release their love for each other that they had kept a secret for so long, and this very first kiss was like no other. Meowth smiled to himself as he watched them for a minute, then decided to take a short walk and leave them alone.
"Jessie….you’re so beautiful…..and I have loved you and wanted to tell you for so long." James sighed warmly after they broke the kiss.
"James….you really mean that?…..You really think I’m…..beautiful?" Jessie breathed.
"You are, Jessica. You are my beautiful and perfect soul mate….and now that I have you with me, I will never let you go and I promise to love you forever." said James, kissing her on the forehead. Jessie ran her fingers through James’ hair softly and kissed him on the cheek a few times.
"James…I will always love you and be yours forever." she whispered, and then their lips joined together again in a warm kiss. As their breathing quickened, their passion rose and suddenly they were unable to get enough of each other. Of all the things in the world, James was what mattered to Jessie more than anything, and vice versa. Now that they finally belonged to each other, they didn’t need to worry about anything else.
"Mmm….James….." Jessie breathed as James kissed along her neck. "Why don’t we move somewhere more….."
"Secluded?" James finished for her, looking up and smiling. Jessie nodded, then James stood up, taking Jessie with him. Then he gracefully swept her off her feet and turned around, carrying her toward the Meowth balloon that they had so conveniently run back to. Slowly they climbed in and were kissing lovingly again….not caring about anything besides each other. Just a few days ago, to their utmost advantage, they had made a small curtain shade to pull down on the sides of the balloon for when they were formulating extra-secret plans they didn’t want team twerp to know about. But now they could use it for more……special things. Soon enough, in the quiet of the vast forest, a chorus of harmonic sounds could be heard coming from the two lovers….all filled with joy and happiness as they made sweet love all through the evening and long into the early morning……

"Jessica….." James breathed, dazed from their long labors of love and enjoying the feel of his bare skin basking in the sunlight.
"Yes, my love?" Jessie replied, brushing a strand or two of hair out of James’ face, then kissing him on the forehead.
"Please….you have the voice of an angel. Please sing to me….." James pleaded breathlessly. Jessie smiled warmly. "Of course….and I know just the song." then she cleared her throat and took a deep breath.
"So I find a reason to shave my legs
Each single morning
So I count on someone Friday nights to take me dancing and then
To church on Sundays
To plant more dreams
And someday think of kids
Or maybe just to save a little money
You’re the one I need
The way back home is always long
But if you’re close to me I’m holding on
You’re the one I need
My real life has just begun

In a world full of strangers

Jessie finished, then kissed James passionately.
"Oh Jessie…." James sighed, closing his eyes, from which came a small tear, "That was beautiful….. Just like you." he smiled, and Jessie wiped away his tear softly. Jessie closed her eyes and kissed his fingertips. "James….I promise I’ll always love you." She whispered softly, then she sat up slightly, taking him with her, and layed his head softly on her chest, running her fingers through his silky hair.
"Listen to my heart, James. It has never beat like that before. That’s because the love we share now is so special, so deep, and so wonderful, that my heart will never stop beating that way because I know that it will never be broken." she looked down at him as he smiled up at her and gazed at her lovingly, and he couldn’t help but cry.
"James….what’s wrong??" Jessie asked, worried.
"Nothing….I just….I love you so much, and everything you say to me is sounds so wonderful, and I know that our bottomless love will last forever…and I will cherish your heart and keep it safe in my own, and love you always, I promise." James blinked his tears away and rose up to kiss Jessie, who wrapped her arms around him again and knew that she wanted to stay like this forever, even if it was in a very small space that was pretty much in the middle of nowhere, but unfortunately they couldn’t.
"James….Meowth is probably wondering what happened. I think we should…um….get dressed and go find him." Jessie said with a funny smile. James frowned slightly.
"Yeah….I guess we have to." he said, and they stood up and began to dress wearily. They were fully dressed soon enough, and Jessie removed the small curtain from the outside of the balloon, allowing James to climb out and thereafter helping her. Leaving the balloon there for the moment, James took Jessie’s hand, interlacing fingers and all, and they began to walk in one direction to look for Meowth. They found him a short time later, sitting on a log and humming a small tune to himself. Hearing their footsteps, the cat turned around and smiled at the couple, then gave a small chuckle after a minute noticing their flushed faces and sweat-curled bangs.
"Where have you been?" Jessie questioned him.
"Eh….around." said Meowth. "Looks like youse two had fun…..how was it?" he asked teasingly.
Jessie gave him a light smack upside the head.
"You shut up." she said.
"Yeah, we love each other and that’s none of your buisiness." James said, hugging Jessie in a way of looking protective. Meowth shrugged. "Mm…ok But I really am happy for youse." he said, smiling, and Jessie and James smiled back. "Guess what." Meowth said, smiling and looking very pleased with himself.
"What??" they asked at the same time.
"Well…I did some practicin while youse two were away, battlin dese wild Pokemon here in da forest….and I just happened ta learn….Pay Day." he smiled proudly, and Jessie and James became delighted. They picked up Meowth and hugged him.
"Oh Meowth, we knew you could do it!!" They exclaimed, nuzzling him. "We love you!!"
"Heh heh…I got da two best friends in da whole wide world." he said, smiling.

It had been surprisingly easy for Jessie and James to inform Giovanni that they were resigning from Team Rocket, all it took was a short phone conversation, and somehow he was very understanding. Maybe somehow he knew that they had planned a brighter future…..

"Ok, Jimmy….here’s yer chance, go for it." Meowth said, giving James a thumbs up from under the dinner table. James smiled and nodded, then pulled a small box out of his pocket as Meowth crawled back under the tablecloth. James looked around the fancy restaurant and had a feeling that all eyes were on him. He looked up and Jessie, who coyly rubbed her foot against the side of his leg under the table and smiled. James took Jessie’s hand, then got out or his chair and down on one knee.
"My beautiful Jessica…..we have been together for so long. I would like to know if you would give me the honor of being my wife." James said with a smile, then he opened the ring box and placed the beautiful 18-karat princess cut diamond ring on Jessie’s finger. Jessie just gazed at him, then at the ring, with huge watery eyes, then put her free hand up and covered her mouth in astonishment. Then, she pulled James off of the floor and embraced him tightly.
"Oh, James…..of course I will!!" she cried, and they kissed lovingly, everyone around them applauding.
Now, their true future together would begin, and their was no letting go or turning back……
