"I see you managed to break out of jail, Fuujin," Syria muttered as
the boy approached her. He seemed to have healed after the fight with the
fighting/psychic chimera, but he must've been worn out by the travel from New
Bark Town. "Good thing for you," the woman continued. "If you
hadn't, I might have had to come kill you."
"Yeah, yeah," Fuujin told her, his annoyance showing in his voice. "I
had a rough time in New Bark Town because of one stupid brat. I missed my
target, but if I had stayed any longer, the civilians would have killed me for
sure."
"Would've been better than me," Syria remarked. "You lost to
some underdeveloped chimera, and you even lost Nighthawk, your only pokemon.
Should I kill this boy for you to avenge you? He is in town here, hiding like a
wimp from his neighbors in his hometown."
"No," Fuujin practically shouted. "That kid is mine. I'll get
revenge myself."
The psychic glared at the boy. "Now, that's no way to talk to someone
who could kill you without hesitation." The wind chimera gulped at that
line. "Very well, without any pokemon, you're useless against him
anyway." Syria handed Fuujin two pokeballs. "These two should be more
than enough for you."
"Th...thank you," Fuujin replied nervously. He wanted so much to
get away from this psycho woman as soon as possible. "By the way, is one of
these...?"
"Necro wouldn't even listen to me, let alone you." Syria sighed at
the thought. Necro had decided to go around Violet Town to cause some havoc.
Apparently, there was a Haunter that was a bit of a prankster, and Necro wanted
to ruin his reputation. But Syria had to give one last warning. "You do
realize what I will do if you fail, Fuujin."
"Yes, ma'am," Fuujin said before rushing into town to find the boy
that humiliated him. However, he had to fight this one knowing his very life
depended on it.
Chimera Saga: Renegades
Chapter 03: Vengeance

Pokemon. New characters belong to either Blitz or me.
Ryan stretched his arms straight up as he left the Violet Town Pokemon
Center. He had already been there for a couple of days now, and really didn't
know where to go from here. It wasn't like he had any real goal on this trip.
Plus, he didn't really feel like wandering around Johto aimlessly.
"So what are we going to do now?" Ken asked. Tyson and Ken stood
right next to Ryan as he thought about just that. Nighthawk rested in her
pokeball, but was more than willing to be called upon when she would be needed.
It only made sense, since the Noctowl didn't really like the day. "You did
say you weren't interested in the League."
"Why should I be? I just preferred hanging around you guys. That's the
only reason I got my license," Ryan told him. "I guess we could head
to Sprout Tower. It wouldn't hurt to go by there, would it?"
"What a bore," Ken muttered with a yawn, before Tyson bonked him
upside the head, catching the fire-type off-guard. "What'd I say?"
"Grow up, will ya?" the Tyrogue chastised.
"Chill, guys," Ryan sighed, not really wanting to deal with the
antics of either of them. "Let's just go to the tower. I just want to relax
for a change. Besides, you never know what'll happen, especially after what
happened back...home..." Ryan trailed off at the end, not completing his
thought.
Ken and Tyson both looked up at the boy, concerned with what was going on in
his head. They both knew that being exiled from his own home had hit him hard.
Well, at least he wasn't being tortured like Fuujin probably was at the moment,
but to have everyone that you've grown up and lived with for years turn against
you? It was a mental torture that Ryan probably couldn't stand.
Ryan shook his head quickly, trying to clear his thoughts. "C'mon, guys,
let's just go." He was a little anxious to start moving again. It was a
little too obvious that thinking of home shook him up a bit. Ken knew this
better than anyone that Ryan tended to do some sort of physical activity, even a
simple walk, to try and clear his head of thoughts. Perhaps he had more than one
reason for going to the Sprout Tower, probably to talk to the sages there. He
needed someone human to discuss his problems with, not them.
The Sprout Tower was a large wooden structure that was five stories high. The
odd thing about the tower is that the central pillar supporting the tower is
actually wobbly. It was quite bizarre because it seemed like it could topple at
any moment, but it was actually quite stable, and has even withstood
earthquakes.
As Ryan and the two pokemon approached the tower, they noticed a group of
people standing in front of the entrance. From what Ryan could tell, they were a
few angry citizens arguing with the sages of Sprout Tower. He couldn't
understand what was being said completely, but Ryan swore he heard the words
"damned Haunter" among them. "I wonder what their problem
is," Ryan muttered.
"Sorry, kid. Tower's closed," one of the men confronting the sages
told Ryan as he tried approached the group. Ryan didn't take kindly to being
called that, but he shook it off anyway. What did these guys know?
"You can't block visitors from our tower," the sage that headed the
group chastised.
"Damn straight we can, Baldy," another citizen spat back.
"We'll allow visitors once you do something about that Haunter."
"What's going on here?" Ryan finally asked. "What has this
Haunter done to you?" This question drew Ryan a look of complete disbelief.
Who hasn't heard of the Haunter that's lived in Sprout Tower?
"What closet have you been hiding in?" the man that stopped him
earlier asked, looking at the boy as if he was a complete retard.
"I'm new here," Ryan told him. "I just decided to visit Sprout
Tower on my way here."
"There's a Haunter that's lived here for years whose done nothing more
than play pranks on the citizens of this city. Lately, it's gone too far. It's
gotten to a point where he's causing fights among neighbors."
"Are you sure it's not another ghost?" Ryan asked, pressing more
into the matter. The sages smiled at the boy's question, knowing that he wasn't
as closed-minded as the angry mob.
"What other ghost could it be? That Haunter is the only one that pulls
pranks on the citizens."
"You assume too much," one of the sages told them.
"Oh, shut up, you old geezer and face the facts," another from the
mob put in.
"I'll confront the Haunter," Ryan said. "It would make sense,
since I'm neutral to this whole mess. Plus, I have a Noctowl handy." That
last remark, Ryan picked up Nighthawk's pokeball and showed it to the others
before putting it back.
Both groups looked at each other, trying to comprehend of the strange
request, especially from a kid. He looks like he could have been a trainer for a
while, but why would they trust a kid. "Very well," the sage's leader
said.
"Alright," the mob leader practically moaned. "No funny
stuff."
"Not my style," Ryan told the mob as he fought his way towards the
tower. He had to go ghost hunting for a bunch of jerks. He didn't enjoy the
thought, but it was better than nothing.
Ryan was starting to get annoyed by the search. He had already gotten halfway
up the tower and there was no sign of any ghosts. Of course, this being the day
time, there naturally aren't many ghosts, but if that Haunter is up in the day
like the citizens say it is, then it shouldn't be hard to find him. Of course,
there is the matter of waking up any sleeping ghosts in the tower.
For some reason, the third floor seemed endless. It was like some sort of
maze, and Ryan couldn't find the stairs going up. Eventually, he slammed
straight into an invisible force, like some sort of force field was erected in
front of him. "What the hell?" Ryan asked as he fell back on his rear
end, his face still hurting from hitting what felt like a wall.
"What happened?" Tyson asked, curious as to why his trainer had
fallen to the ground.
"Not sure, but if what I'm thinking is correct..." Ryan said,
reaching for a pokeball on his belt. He opened it up, releasing Nighthawk in
front of the group.
"What's going on?" Nighthawk demanded, cranky from the rude
awakening.
"I think we've got a ghost problem. Think you can use Foresight?"
Ryan asked.
"Oh, good, something to pound," Nighthawk muttered, wanting to
release her frustrations of getting a lack of sleep on something. Her eyes
started to glow red before they shined outwards, starting to dispel the
illusion, and showing the wooden wall Ryan ran into. However, Ryan was even more
concerned by what else came out of the illusion.
"Wha...where's the Haunter?" Ryan asked, looking at the spherical
forms that had nothing more than eyes, a mouth, and fangs to show it was some
form of life.
"Gastly?" Tyson squeaked in fear. "Great, bad enough we have
to deal with a Haunter." All of the ghosts around them seemed as cranky as
Nighthawk was.
"Any suggestions, smart alek?" Ken asked, fire igniting on the
Cyndaquil's back, showing he was prepared for a fight.
"At least they're solid, now," Ryan muttered, falling into a
fighting stance. "Take 'em all out."
"You've gotta be kidding me," the Tyrogue muttered as he followed
Ryan's lead.
Nighthawk didn't waste any time in getting into the melee. She immediately
slammed into the closest Gastly to her, as the others around her started to fire
off black waves of energy at the bird. However, Nighthawk came out of the attack
unscathed, immune to ghost-type attacks like the Night Shade attacks used on
her.
"Here they come," Ryan muttered as he backhanded the first Gastly
that tried to sneak up on him. Then he turned his body around into a roundhouse
kick, which took out a ring of the ghosts around him. He suddenly sensed an
attack from the rear and turned around, crossing his arms in front of him. The
Night Shade attack fired at him slammed into an invisible barrier in front of
the boy. What the Hell? Ryan thought, not sure how he pulled that off.
That one would have hurt him badly.
Tyson wasn't faring well in his end of the mass melee. Even if the ghosts
were solid, he was having a hard time landing a decisive blow. "'Take 'em
all out,' he says," Tyson muttered, as he barely dodged another Night
Shade. "Ryan, if Team Rocket doesn't kill you first, you're dead."
"Need a little help?" Ken asked as he spun into a ball and started
rolling around Tyson, the flames on the Cyndaquil's back forming a wheel of some
kind. "Ha, ha!! That attack is great!"
Tyson just gawked, wondering how much training Ken received to already know
Flame Wheel. Whatever the case, the Cyndaquil had grown well beyond his form. He
should have evolved by now.
Then, Ken stopped rolling and unrolled himself, in which he started stumbling
around as if he were drunk. "Whoa, can someone stop the room? I'd like to
get off now."
"Maybe not," Tyson muttered as he rushed to the fire-type's side,
trying to make sure he's okay. Of course, that proved to be a mistake as the
Gastly surrounded them. Tyson tried to ignore them, trying to get Ken to snap
out of his dizzy spell.
The Gastly stopped suddenly, looking up in fear before they fled. Ryan and
the group of pokemon just looked at each other, confused about what just
happened. The Gastly honestly had them outnumbered, and except for Nighthawk,
could have really beaten any of them. However, animals flee at the presence of a
bigger predator.
Ryan slowly turned around to look what spooked the Gastly. Right behind them
was a ghost that had a more seemingly solid form. Not only did it have some
shape to the head, albeit a triangular one, it had disembodied hands as well.
The Haunter that Ryan was looking for had finally shown itself. "So you're
the prankster Haunter," Ryan said.
"Yes, I am. They call me Cloud. So, why are you searching for me?"
the ghost asked, having watched that last fight and realizing that Ryan could
understand him as well.
"The townspeople are wanting your hide. Apparently you've been pulling
pranks that have gone too far," Ken told him, glaring at the ghost.
"Nope, not me," Cloud said, waving his hands defensively. "I
haven't left the tower for a few days now since I sensed the presence of a
stronger ghost-type."
"You mean to tell me you've been cowering in here while another ghost
has been in your territory?" Ryan asked, sickened by the Haunter from what
he's hearing. "Even as it ruins your reputation."
"That's the way nature works, buddy. The strong and smart live and the
weak and stupid die," Cloud continued.
Ryan continued to glare, not believing the ghost would stoop to this low.
"You do realize the townspeople are about ready to storm this place looking
for you. I don't think the sages that have protected you will hold them long. If
you don't do something now, those that have protected you will be hurt, and so
will you."
Cloud looked down for a moment, before looking up in surprise. "He's at
it again," Cloud said, his eyes dilating.
"And what are you going to do about it?" Nighthawk asked, glaring
at the Haunter as he contemplated what to do. Should he run? Should he take on
this ghost like these people are telling him to do? Of course, he was sick of
forever being protected by the sages here, but what could he do? He wasn't
necessarily powerful.
"I have to pay the sages back I guess," Cloud said before
disappearing.
"Where'd he go now?" Tyson asked.
"Nighthawk, follow him. We'll try to catch up," Ryan told the bird.
The bird immediately flew off, chasing after the Haunter. Just as she flew out
the window, Ryan, Ken and Tyson made a mad dash down the stairs of the Sprout
Tower, and out the front door.
The trio of pokemon made a mad dash past the sages and the mob, ignoring the
yells of the 'leader' as he continued to run. Ken and Tyson were barely keeping
up, which was odd, considering they should be faster than Ryan. They didn't have
time to stop and think of why, though, as they had to keep the boy in their
sights.
A figure wearing a trench coat stood on the roof of Sprout Tower, watching as
the events started to unfold. "That kid's psychic powers are developing and
he doesn't even realize it," he muttered, watching Ryan run. "Though,
that still isn't much of an 'Agility' boost." With that thought, he
disappeared suddenly.
Ryan suddenly stopped as he saw a familiar person. Though, Fuujin was the
last person Ryan expected to see, he wasn't really convinced, considering the
other ghost was around. "So, Cloud didn't go after the wayward ghost,"
Ryan muttered, as he focused on dispelling the illusion in front of him. His
eyes started glowing red before firing off two red beams of light over the
figure.
However, Fuujin was still there, even after Ryan's Foresight subsided.
"You! How'd you break out of jail?" Ryan demanded.
Fuujin merely smirked. "Took you long enough to figure it out. Did you
really think a prison cell could hold me?"
Ryan growled, clinching his fist. He was ready to pound the Hell out of him
right here, right now. Tyson and Ken arrived just in time to try and stop him.
"Don't bother, Ryan. We'll take care of him," Tyson said, wanting
his personal revenge on the wind chimera.
"Leave a piece of him for me," Ken remarked, flame still going on
his back.
"Cavalry to the rescue, eh? Not this time," Fuujin told them as he
took out two pokeballs. He tossed them to the ground and released a large snake
pokemon and a flytrap shaped pokemon.
The Arbok and Victreebell seemed to grin as they noticed the Tyrogue.
"Isn't it ironic?" the Arbok said. "We just ran into the pebble
not too long ago."
"Venom," Tyson growled. "Why do you and Razor have to show up
now?" This day just keeps getting better for Tyson. First, encountering
ghosts, and now, these two.
The snake suddenly lunged towards the fighting-type, fangs ready to bite down
into him, but what Arbok didn't count on was for the Cyndaquil to suddenly ram
straight into him, sending him flying back. Ken glared down the snake as it
reoriented itself. "Don't ignore me," Ken said before firing off a
Flamethrower attack at the snake. Venom suddenly burrowed underground, dodging
the fire attack. Ken quickly jumped out of his spot as the snake resurfaced,
glaring at the fire-type. "Razor, you can have, Tyson. This kid's actually
got spunk."
The Victreebell didn't even respond, just stared down the Tyrogue as they
looked like they were contemplating their first moves. Suddenly, Tyson charged
at the plant-type before finding himself dodging a few Razor Leaves. Suddenly,
he found himself restrained. A vine had wrapped itself around Tyson, keeping him
from moving at all. "Shit," Tyson cursed.
"Looks like our pokemon are busy already," Fuujin said, catching
Ryan's attention. Of course, he didn't give him much time to defend himself as
he conjured up a strong gale to send Ryan flying a few feet away. Ryan flipped
and landed on his feet before charging in. Fuujin smirked as he started to
create a whirlwind. Ryan was indeed stupid if he was going to charge head-on.
Then, Ryan disappeared from in front of him. Fuujin didn't have time to make
sense of things before he felt the sharp pain of a fist hitting the back of his
head, sending him falling to the ground and dispersing his whirlwind.
"You're as pathetic as before," Ryan muttered. "One hit sends
you falling." Ryan then found his eyes starting to sting; a cloud of sand
had just formed around him, getting sand into his eyes. "Dammit!"
Fuujin just chuckled. "And so are you." The wind chimera just got
up after causing the cloud of sand. Now, this battle should be much easier for
him.
Cloud suddenly stopped and glared as he finally found the one causing all of
the problems lately. However, he was quite surprised, the Misdrevous actually
looked a bit young and inexperienced. This ghost couldn't have been that
powerful, so what the hell scared him so much about this thing. "So you're
the little pipsqueak messing around in my turf," Cloud accused.
"And you're the wimp that's been hiding in the Sprout Tower," Necro
grinned. That remark caused Cloud to flinch as if Necro whipped him. It hadn't
been even a minute and the Misdrevous was already attacking his ego. "So,
did you come to do something or what?"
"Yeah, get you off of my territory," Cloud told the younger ghost.
"You and what army." Necro started taunting the Haunter, as if
daring it to attack. Didn't Necro know that he didn't stand a chance?
"You asked for it," Cloud warned as he suddenly fired off a black
wave of energy. Necro simply dodged it, gliding off to the side. Necro countered
with a Night Shade attack of her own, which barely stung the Haunter fighting
it.
Suddenly, Cloud's disembodied hands flew at Necro, an attempt to 'grab' the
younger ghost. However, Necro simply ducked under them, before looking up to see
Cloud preparing another Night Shade. This time Necro didn't move, looking around
as she saw the two hands aiming a Night Shade each at her, a triple crossfire.
The triple Night Shade attack fired at her, and this time, connecting.
Cloud's hands returned to where they were, close to him, giving a silent
cheer as he finally nailed the Misdrevous. Then, he took another look at Necro,
only to see that the younger ghost was unscathed by the attack. "What on
Earth? Are you normal?" Cloud asked, his eyes bulging as he saw this.
"Hardly," Necro smirked. "As much as you could try, ghost-type
attacks have no effect on me, nor will psychic ones, so you don't need to bother
with the hypnosis."
Cloud grimaced, realizing that that was his next move. His fears about this
ghost were coming true. Though, normally, he'd be able to beat this Misdrevous,
it's not its experience that gave it an edge...it was its type. "How?"
"Team Rocket is good at this kind of stuff," Necro smirked, before
a bright flash blinded Cloud a bit. Cloud realized what happened, as he tried to
look around for the other ghost. Necro used a Confuse Ray on him.
"Cloud! I'm here!!" Nighthawk called out.
"I better split," Necro said, disappearing.
"Oh, no you don't," Nighthawk muttered as her eyes turned red.
Then, her eyes shined over the area, using a Foresight. The confused Haunter was
revealed, but the Misdrevous was nowhere to be seen.
"Dammit! That ghost got away!" Nighthawk cursed, looking around for
it.
"There's the Haunter!" a human's voice yelled as Cloud finally
reoriented himself.
"Oh, great. What now?" Cloud asked.
"We run," Nighthawk snapped. "Let's meet up with Ryan."
Cloud only nodded as he chased after Nighthawk, trying not to lose the
Noctowl. Things just became complicated ten fold now, making him wonder how he'd
get out of this mess.
Ryan tried looking around for Fuujin, but the sand in his eyes prevented him
from seeing anything. He had to find a way to 'see' where he was going without
his eyes. Eventually, he felt another blast of wind throw him on his back, which
added more to Ryan's frustration, as he couldn't figure out how to get oriented.
'Calm down, and focus on your other senses, especially your sixth sense,'
a voice in Ryan's head said. Ryan couldn't figure out where the voice was coming
from, as those words weren't even his thoughts.
Who are you? Ryan thought.
'A friend, just do as I say, trust me,' the voice said.
Ryan took a few deep breaths, trying to calm himself down. As he did, his
mind started to gather information through his other senses. He started to see
everything, including Fuujin and the smug look on his face. Ryan was about to
give him a big surprise. He lifted his legs straight up, then threw himself into
the air and flipped onto his feet, nearly kicking Fuujin in the process. The
wind chimera had to move his head out of the way.
Ryan quickly rectified his earlier miss by swinging his leg around and
nailing Fuujin in a roundhouse kick to the face, sending Fuujin to the ground.
Then, Ryan leaned down and grabbed something on Fuujin that he just now noticed
around his neck. He ripped it off of Fuujin's neck, breaking the string holding
it.
"How?" Fuujin asked, wanting to know how it was possible for Ryan
to move around as if he was seeing everything clearly.
Ryan held up the diamond-shaped pendant he took from Fuujin, showing it to
the boy. "I take it this is something important. Not many guys where
necklaces or pendants you know," Ryan said, ignoring Fuujin's question.
Ryan's Pokemon couldn't take much anymore. Razor continually tormented Tyson,
who couldn't move within the plant-type's grip. Ken was having a hard time with
Venom; not being able to strike him while the snake was underground. He had no
clue when the next attack would come.
Ken dodged another attack from below, this time, the attack was followed by
Venom opening his mouth and firing off several poisonous needles at the fire
type. Just before the attack hit, Ken started to flash white, the needles didn't
even sting him as he started to change shape, growing longer, and getting an
actual elongated neck. He started to resemble a ferret more than a mole.
The Quilava, now glared down the snake, who was frozen. It wasn't just that
the Quilava was threatening, but the Ken was now surrounded in fire, as if
preparing for a big attack. Suddenly, Ken rushed straight at Venom with only one
word in his mind, 'Charger.' Ken slammed into the snake, burning him badly as he
fell to the ground.
At the same time, Tyson started his evolution as well, breaking from his
confines within Razor's grip as he grew. Tyson was no longer a small humanoid,
but now stood at least three-quarters of the size of a human, gaining what
looked like a shirt of some kind and boxing gloves on his fist.
Razor couldn't see what was coming next. Suddenly, the Hitmonchan was in
close, then, he jumped straight up, ramming his fist into what passed as the
Victreebell's face. The attack was strong enough to not only send Victreebell
flying to the ground, but knocking him out before he hit the ground. 'Dragon
Punch,' were the only words that crossed Tyson's mind after that.
Ryan and the others looked over the scene with their three enemies now
sprawled all over the ground. Fuujin was about to rush to his feet and try to
attack Ryan again, but as soon as he did, a blue aura appeared around him,
stopping him where he was. Ryan and the others backed up upon seeing this,
looking around for whoever could have done this.
Nighthawk and Cloud finally approached the group, noticing the scene going
on. "Fuujin!" Nighthawk yelled in surprise. She didn't expect to see
him here at all, let alone suspended in the air by some unknown force.
"You know that guy?" Cloud asked, referring to the newcomer.
"Unfortunately, yes," Nighthawk replied. "He was my trainer at
one point...before he beat me for losing to Ken. I should have known that the
jails wouldn't keep a wind chimera held for long."
"Wind Chimera?" Cloud asked, even more confused.
"Long story." the Noctowl sighed.
Ryan tried to calm himself and detect where the psychic force was coming
from. As he did, he pinpointed a strong source up on the roof of one of the
nearby buildings. "There!" Ryan yelled as he looked toward one of the
buildings, finding a woman standing there. It looked like she had a murderous
intent in her eyes, which was only confirmed as they heard the gagging sound of
Fuujin suffocating. That abruptly stopped before he dropped to the ground, lying
deathly still.
"Aww, shit. It's Syria!" Nighthawk panicked. "We've gotta get
outta here, fast!"
"So, it is you, Nighthawk," the woman remarked. "You do know
the punishment for betraying Team Rocket."
"You won't do a thing," another voice said. As the source of the
voice approached, the murderous intent in Syria's eyes changed to one of
surprise. How was she going to know that he would show up?
"Very well," Syria told them. "You're lives will be
spared...for now." She suddenly disappeared after saying her fill, along
with Venom and Razor.
"What the Hell was that?" Ryan asked. "What's going on?"
"That was Syria, one bitch you do NOT want to mess with. I've seen her
kill someone without a moment's hesitation or the slightest bit of
remorse," Nighthawk told him. "If you run into her, run away if you
can because she doesn't care who you are, as long as she hates you, you're as
good as dead."
"Okay, and more importantly, who are you?" Ryan asked as he turned
to the new boy that showed up. He looked about the same age as Ryan was, maybe a
little younger. Oddly enough, the boy was wearing a trench coat, as if trying to
hide something, which added to more of Ryan's suspicion. However, from what Ryan
could tell with his eyes, he had experienced some level of Hell.
"I'll explain later. However, I think we have some company," the
boy remarked, which caused everyone to look around them. Surrounding them was a
mob of various men with various weapons. It wasn't looking good for any of them.
"Who caused this mess?"
"Cloud," Ryan and all of the pokemon except for the Haunter in
question answered.
"Let's all blame me when it's that damned Misdrevous' fault!" the
Haunter complained.
The new boy sighed. All of them would be killed if he didn't do anything
fast. Without a moment's notice, the group disappeared without a trace before
the mob's very eyes, which only stopped and looked in disbelief at what they
just saw.
Ryan and the pokemon turned to look at the new boy as they suddenly appeared
on the outskirts of Violet Town. Ryan was looking even more frustrated than
before. "All right, explain!"
"My name is Alex," the boy explained. "Let's just say, I'm
like you."
"Well, that's obvious enough," Ryan replied sarcastically.
"Why are you showing up all of a sudden?"
"You caught my interest. I sensed your psychic potential and thought I
could try and help you out," Alex assured. "Of course, that wouldn't
have done me any good if you died."
"And how am I supposed to trust someone like you?"
"I got you all out of trouble, didn't I?"
Ryan just stared at the boy. He had a point, and he proved himself to be
trustworthy already. "Okay, you win. You could probably kick my ass any day
of the week."
"You have no idea."
Cloud started to get impatient. "Well, I guess I could tag along with
you guys now. I mean, I'm not exactly welcomed back home anymore, obviously
enough. I'm going to kill that Misdrevous."
"That Misdrevous is beyond you and you know it," Nighthawk
retorted.
Cloud just growled at that comment, which caused the Noctowl to smirk.
"You do look cute when you're angry, though."
"Just what we need, a ghost," the newly evolved Hitmonchan finally
spoke up.
"Just be glad he's on our side," Ken told him.
"This is all good and all, but what are we going to do now? It's not like we have any place to go," Ryan said aloud. He had planned on staying in Violet Town a little while longer while he figured out what to do next but the previous chain of events that took place prevented that from happening.
"Wherever fate guides us," Alex said, leaving it at that as he
started to set up camp.
Ryan only nodded as he helped Alex find some wood to build a fire with. Despite his initial reaction, Ryan felt that Alex was someone he could trust. However, that's what worried him more. He felt too trusting of the psychic chimera.
