[Legends Don't Fly Free]
["By Fredalia"]

I sat on top of a flourished hillside. My auburn hair seemed as if it was playing with the autumn wind. My light, pale skin shined from the bright sun, unmasked by the clouds. My eyes, which usually gleamed with light and compassion, were dull, and damp. Next to me was my faithful Pikachu, Lightning. I never really did believe that my Pikachu was ordinary. Her eyes were a beautiful emerald green, and she had a lightning bolt scar on her left arm. I had come here to think about the next few years of my life as a Pokemon trainer. I had always wanted to go, but I had never had the chance. If leaving the ones that depended on me so much meant becoming a Pokemon trainer, I wouldn't do it. Then again, I had already made arrangements with Prof. Oak. No good arguing with a researcher, or else my trainer's license could disappear right before my eyes. I would make sure I'd contact them whenever I could.

The next day was my last day before my big journey. I had packed the night before. I was wearing a light blue top, a faded pair of jeans, and a beautiful jean purse with a Pikachu embroidered on it.

"Don't go," said a small voice. I looked down once again, to find my four younger sisters, the oldest ones, triplets, no older that 9, and a 4 year old. It seemed that they weren't going to let me go. I chuckled. "Sorry guys, but this is something that I have to do alone." I sighed. They still wouldn't budge. "Ok, come over here, girls." I said sadly. The girls came over silently. "Violet, I give you permission to my makeup bag." The young girl with light purple hair rejoiced happily. "Daisy, for you, I give my favorite photo frame. Make sure not to brake it, Kay?" "Ok, Sam." The young girl started jumping wildly, her long, blonde hair jumping with her. "Lily, I give you the right to have your own bedroom, but just be careful not to strain yourself, and make sure your sisters help you." She said, worryingly. "Don't worry, I'll be ok." The young girl screamed loudly. "Misty, come here." A young girl stepped up, her short red hair hanging low. "Mist, I'm gonna give you the best gift of all. You must only use this when you are in absolute danger. She's perfectly trained, just say that I gave her to you." A beautiful lure-ball dangled from a beautiful silver chain. The ball had ripples engraved on the upper half of the ball. Misty's aqua blue-green eyes widened. "Is it a pretty water Pokemon?" she asked, hoping that it wasn't a bug. "Well, sort of. You see, this Pokemon thrives in water. Just remember, to never let her out unless you really need her." She worried about Misty, not sure that this was right. Yet, something inside her told her that she was ready to hold something as important as the Pokemon inside it. She just hoped she was right. "I'll try to call as often as I can, alright?" she asked softly. The girls agreed. Holding back tears, I sorrowly opened the door, and bid the girls goodbye.

"Well, Lightning, do you think that this is the right thing to do?" I asked my faithful companion. She squeaked, apparently agreeing. I started walking on, heading for the boat that had been prepared by Professor Oak. "It's amazing how he could hire a boat to pick us up at a deserted place, especially one like the Southern Island." I had always wondered how he had the power to do that, but what could I do? Only agree and follow on, she thought.

As I was nearing my destination, we heard a distant boom, followed by thunder sparks, forced water, and flames. "We'd better find out who's causing this; someone might be hurt!" I exclaimed. My mouse-like companion agreed. Ever since we had first met, we've had shared everything together. I could remember that day…

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~FLASHBACK~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
A beautiful young woman scurried, wondering where her only daughter had gone off. "She should know not to scamper off without telling me first!" she exclaimed. A shuffling was heard. Everything, and everyone, fell silent, giving the cottage the occupating family called home a haunted feeling. The young woman stiffened, her bronze hair seeming as if it had been frozen, flamed, and then frozen again without warning. Suddenly, a mild voice caught her by surprise. "Mom, you ok? You look like you just saw a Gengar or something." A young girl, probably 8, asked. The woman spun behind her. "Oh, Sam, where were you? I thought I had lost you!" The woman practically screamed out. "Mom, I think that you should check the garden next time you think I'm missing, ok?" she said practically. "Well then, I guess you should open your gift from me." The mother asked thoughtfully. "Oh, boy! What is it? Is it a Pokemon, mom? Is it?" Sam asked rapidly. The mother chuckled softly.
As Sam neared the box, it seemed to jiggle. She gasped; it was a Pokemon of some kind!! As tore off the rapping paper, her mom smiled contently. When Sam opened the box that had been confined by the paper, she saw a little mouse like creature, with a yellow body, ears, and tail in the shape of a lightning bolt, with bright red cheeks, and brown stripes on its back. "Oh my gosh, it's a Pikachu!! Whee!!!" Sam wanted to show her excitement, but knew that she might scare her new friend. "I got her from the Adoption Center. See that scar on her arm? It was said that a scar in the shape of a Pokemon's element would show signs of power, but it's just an old legend." Her mom explained. Sam looked at her arm. Sure enough, the scar was there, quite noticeable close up. "Don't worry, fella. I'll make sure that you'll be fine, just you see. First, I've got to give you a name, though. I'll call ya Lightning, ok?" The mouse jumped up into Sam's arms, contently. "Well, I'd would never of thought I'd see the day when a Pokemon would lighten up to it's trainer so quickly. You'd probably be a great Pokemon trainer, don't you think?" Sam agreed silently. Someday, she'd become one of the greatest trainers of all time….
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~END FLASHBACK~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Sometimes I wish life could be that easy, I thought. We then darted to the forest, hoping that whoever was in there, wasn't in trouble. We followed the sounds, trusted our senses, and kept running as if there were giant Rapidashes chasing after them. After vigorous running (and a few hundred gulps of water), we felt they were near the site of the battle. "Lightning, have you noticed that there are no trainer voices around??" I asked, frightened. Lightning simply squeaked, but then her sharp, pointed ears shot up. "Chupi."(A/N: Chupi stands for Sam.:P) Lightning seemed scared out of her wits. "What is it?" I asked. Suddenly, Lightning dashed into the bushes. I tried to see what had scared Lightning so bad, when I saw a huge beam of light coming at me. I jumped into the bushes with Lightning, grateful that we had missed that attack. It had looked like a Hyper Beam. We tried to follow the beam's origin. Then again, it was pretty easy, seeing how there was a big dent in the ground. As we pulled back some branches that were in our way, we saw two great beasts clashing together. A dog like creature was bashing a lavender cat-like Pokemon. My mother had told me of these Pokemon in the storybooks we used to read when I was young, before she disappeared. The dog like one was Beaglite, a legendary Pokemon that used its blotchy spots for different attacks. Its beautiful white body was covered with black, brown, and yellow spots, its ears seemed as if they were dipped in the finest chocolate. The feline was a Prita, another legendary that used its psychic powers to control its opponents, and his fangs to kill his prey when he had weakened it. Legends told of these two as gods of the worlds, Beaglite protecting the life. Since Prita wanted the roll, they had been competing over it for Millenniums.

As the battle continued, I noticed the Beaglite grew weaker, blood dripping on her beautiful coat. Prita's coat had lost its shine, his fur ruffled. As Prita's long, whip-like tails lashed on Beaglite, she tried to charge up a Hyper Beam to damage him. Prita must've seen it coming, because he leapt out of the way, then came up to the Beaglite to finish her once and for all.

Immediately, I devised a plan to help Beaglite. "Lightning, use your Thunder!" she happily agreed, and started charging up immediately. Before Prita could dodge, the Thunder hit him before he could escape. It seemed as if he had been knocked out, so I went to help Beaglite. She looked so wounded. Her ears bitten, paws scuffed up, blood flowing out of her open wounds. She started to growl, but I hushed her. "You need your rest," I said passionately. "You must not worry about me, for I shall have completed my role." she sighed. Once again, I felt tears come to my eyes, when I feel a weird presence behind me. Beaglite suddenly started to growl menacingly. I turned my head to come face to face with Prita. "Why you little, pest! You're nothing but a wannabe Pokemon Trainer!" That did it. One of my worst traits was my temper, and it had now erupted into a sea of flaming emotions. "Oh yeah? Well come and get me, you big hyena!" I yelled. Prita and I then started a hand on paw combat. He had the upper hand, but what I was really trying to do was creating a distraction. Come on, Beaglite. Make your move! I thought. When I thought that all hope was lost, I saw a huge beam of ice heading right towards us. Luckily, I got out of the way, but Prita wasn't so lucky. His lavender body was enclosed in an icy cocoon. "Let's finish this lame excuse for a feline, Lightning! Thunder!" I exclaimed. Lightning started charging. "Pi…Ka…CHUU!!!" Prita was sent into the sky, never to be seen again.

I then heard a soft thump on the ground. I turned my head to fine Beaglite on the floor, out of breath. I ran to her as if she were my own child. She looked my way. "I have never seen or met, a human as kind as you," she tried to carry on. "Which is why I give you this pendent." She said strainfully. She extended her paw to her neck, broke off her necklace from her neck, and put it around mine. "It is now in your hands, Great Leader." With those final words said, she laid her head down, never to be lifted up again.

Suddenly, a great shower of sparks engulfed Beaglite, Lightning and I. My body felt as if I were being electrocuted. I almost lost sight of Lightning, when I saw her body nearing mine. I could feel a sharp pain coursing through my body, screaming as if I could never scream before. Minutes flew by rapidly, as I kept feeling more strange things happening. When I was finally released from my tornado of light, I opened up my eyes, as if I had never seen before. The sky looked bluer, the grass greener. But then I noticed something. Beaglite was nowhere to be seen! I looked around, and where Beaglite once laid, stood a woman, with short copper hair, a trim body, and scars all over her. Tears fell from my eyes, as I figured out who the woman was.

It was my mother.

I silently cried, then tried to hold on to the necklace as tight as I could. Then again, how can you grip with paws? I asked myself. At least you know what its like now. A mysterious voice reasoned. I tried to figure out who it was. Don't be afraid, we've been the best of friends for a many number of years. The voice concurred. Lightning!? Yes, it is I, Sam. I don't know what's going on, but I think that we may be trapped here. Why do you say that, and why can we talk without speaking. Where are you, anyway? First of all, we were fused together; second, we can use telepathy, and third, walk over to the house.

I tried running to the edge of the forest, of which we had entered, only to be bounced back. Hard. See? We're trapped.

I rapidly started thinking. If I was using telepathy, and I've never been psychic, that must mean that I was turned into a Pokemon! I took a better look at me now. I had long, slender legs, brown paws on my hind and front legs, raichu ears, a pichu collar pattern, a Pikachu tail, bright yellow fur. I felt my left arm with my paw. It had the same scar that Lightning did.

I concluded, that I would never be free to roam around with Misty, Violet, Daisy, and Lily again. I could never walk along the beaches. I could never become a Pokemon trainer!! I was stuck here, forever doomed to stay with the Pokemon that inhabited the forest. I had chosen a name for my species. I named myself Thunderchu. I might've been a mutation of the Pikachu family, but I didn't really care. Even though no one would ever hear about me, I was a legend.

A legend that couldn't fly free.

DISCLAMER: I do not own Pokemon. However, I do own, Sam, Lightning, Beaglite, and Thunderchu.

A/N: Well, I think that did quite well, if I do say so myself. This is my first fanfic on here. Ok, it's my first fanfic period. Just remember, this is my first one, don't go hard on me. With that said, review!! :P Gotta Catch Ya Later!
