Brock leaves Ash and May alone as they discover feelings that extend beyond friendship. Ash runs into a fan who also doubles as somewhat of a mentor and well connected friend as Ash tries to win May's heart. Ash has agreed to ask May to the ball celebrating the end of the contest season, so things will have to go smoothly. Love, Pokemon, and shopping and much more are intertwined in a story in which shy friends learn to accept and share their feelings with each other.
