Misty turned around, when her heart stopped beating at the sight of who was behind her.
"Happy Birthday Misty." he said smiling.
It was Ash.......
Misty's surprise must have shown on her face because Ash next said, "Surprised aren't you?"
"Ash?" she asked breathlessly.
he nodded smiling widely. Misty screamed in delight. She threw herself against him, hugging him, talking fast.
"OH MY GOD! I can't believe you're here! it's been 3 years! it is so good to see you!"
"It's good to see you too, Mist." Ash replied grinning.
Misty suddenly saw Brock, May and Max behind Ash, giving the two a knowing grin.
Misty blushed, glaring. She went over to them.
"May!" Misty exclaimed hugging her.
"hey Misty!" she replied and she whispered in Misty's ear so only she could hear, "I told you that you and Ash should be together and that hug was living proof."
Misty smiled and hugged Brock and max.
"It's good to see all of you, you know" Misty said. Suddenly she realized that ash had grown taller. He looked taller than he was 2 years ago.
"It's good to see you too Mist." Ash replied smiling. Suddenly there was a crash in the next room and three frightened gasps and grinning Ash added, "And it's good to see Sharon too. She hasn't changed at all."
"I guess i better stop her..." Mimi sighed from beside Misty. "as much as I love seeing Lily, Daisy, and Violet getting what they deserve for peeking in Sharon's diary... Sharon could ill them..."
"I better help too..." Gregory sighed.
"You're gonna need more than 2 people to hold Sharon back." Misty put in as she followed them into the next room, everyone else eager to see more. "She is really pissed. Hell I would be too if Lily, Daisy, and Violet did that to me. But of course I would have killed them long before that..."
They went into the next room and saw Lily, Daisy, and Violet huddled on the floor looking up at Sharon who was raising the mallet high to hit them. Mimi grabbed the mallet from Sharon's clutches as Gregory put his arms around her shoulders, ready to hold her fast if she was to try and grab the mallet.
"I CANNOT believe that you guys LOOKED in MY DIARY!!!" Sharon shouted.
"Oh c'mon Sharon, you know how we are..." Lily protested.
They heard Sharon crack her knuckles audibly and retreated into a far corner, frightened. Suddenly almost as if nothing had happened, Sharon's face relaxed and all the anger disappeared from her face. She went over to the three and held out her hand to help them up, shocking everyone greatly.
"Oh my God..." Matt whispered incredulously. "Are you...? Not angry anymore...?"
"I've decided, that today isn't the right day nor the right place." Sharon added looking around. "But..." she looked down at the 3 wickedly. "There will be another occasion for it."
Lily, daisy and Violet whimpered, making Sharon laugh.
"Just kidding." Sharon replied.
The three sighed in relief and got up and smiling exclaimed together, "Present Time!"
Sharon and Misty grinned. They went back into the living room and for the first time saw a huge pile of presents right by the Christmas tree, which was up.
"All of them are yours..." Oscar said putting his arms around the shocked sisters."Go, open 'em."
"Oh my God..." the two whispered tears stinging their eyes. "We... can't accept all of these..."
"Yes you can!" Oscar roared.
"Yeah.. Go on... you two deserve them.." Matt added.
"Yeah... but... oh what the heck!" Misty and Sharon exclaimed rushing over tot he pile.
"You first sister." Sharon said bowing mockingly.
"No, you dear sister.." Misty replied also bowing mockingly
"Just open 'em already!" Nathaly J shouted impatiently.
"All right. All right... touchy, touchy, touchy..." Misty and Sharon replied at the same time smiling.
Sharon grabbed a rather large present and so did Misty. The two large presents were from their whole family including Tai, Sora, and Kari. Grinning they pulled back the wrapping and saw that it was a box. Confused and curios they took off the top and pulled out a huge cuddle teddy-bear.
"Hug it." Mimi urged smiling as she snaked her arm around Tai.
They did and upon hugging it, it said "We love you."
Sharon laughed as tears started rolling down her cheeks, tears also appeared on Misty's face. They turned to Tai, Mimi, matt, Sora, Oscar, T.K, Kari, lily, Daisy, Violet and Samantha and gave them each a tearful hug.
"Thank you." they choked out.
Sharon wiped away the tears and soon reached for another present that was from Flavio, Isamil, Luis, Gabriel, Julian, Christian and David. It was a small box she saw. The took off the top and saw that it was earrings shaped into blue hearts.
"Oh..." Sharon whispered.
"it's ugly right?" Isamil asked. "I knew it! I told you we should have gotten the black ring, but no! No one ever listens to-!"
"It's beautiful..." Sharon went on. "Thank you. you guys are the best..." Sharon smiled at the boys who had been with her for two years of school.
"Hey Sharon!" Natalie suddenly yelled. "Your boyfriend's getting jealous!" she pushed Gregory forward who was blushing.
"I am not!" he shouted indignantly
"The how come you're red?" S6ephanie teased.
Gregory mumbled something indistinguishable which made Stephanie and Natalie who caught it because they were next to him, laugh.
Misty grabbed one of her presents that was from Brock. Grinning she took off the wrapping paper and saw that it was a box.
"Hey Brock, what is this?" Misty asked shaking the box trying to guess what was inside.
"You'll see!" Brock yelled.
Misty opened it and saw that it was a set of pots and pans and also a cooking cook.
"What the hell is all this for!?!" Misty yelled.
"So you can learn how to cook! Ash told me, you cook horrible and that you need lessons, preferable from Sharon, Mimi, or me." Brock replied a trace of humor in his voice.
"Ash!" Misty growled.
"What? At least you'll learn how to cook!" Ash replied nervously.
"Where's my mallet?" Misty asked looking around for it.
"Oh Misty..." Sharon said laughing.
Soon each of them were left with two presents. Misty saw that hers were from Sharon and Ash, Sharon saw that her were from Misty and Gregory. They grabbed the one that was from each other, ready to open it. Misty pulled back the wrapping paper and saw that it was a metal-king-sized mallet.
"Oh cud Sharon! this is... wow!" Misty exclaimed holding the mallet in her hand.
"I knew it would be perfect for you the first time I saw it. And that was what? Six moths ago? I had been saving up so that way I could buy it. Now if people really piss you off, they'll suffer from both you and you heavy-metal-king-sized mallet." Sharon replied grinning.
"I wonder who'll be the first!" Mimi exclaimed, smiling.
"maybe it'll me Ash." Matt added grinning.
"Hey!" Ash yelled in protest.
"Nah. I personally think it'll be either Lily, Daisy, or Violet." Sharon put in as she began to unwrap the present from Misty and was left with a box. "Hey Mist, what is it?" she asked shaking the box.
"You'll just have to open it and find out." Misty replied grinning.
Sharon took off the lid and stared. Inside were 2 dog toys, and a leash. Sharon continued to stare until comprehension dawned upon her.
"Does this mean?..." Sharon asked pointing eyes wide.
"Open mine Sharon." Gregory urged.
Sharon reached for the next present, hands shaking. her hands fumbled with the string, slowly she pulled back the wrapping paper, and she was left with a box that had large holes in it. Sharon looked at Gregory then back at the box before taking a deep breath and taking off the lid. Sharon screamed in delight.
"A PUPPY!!!!!!!" she screamed pulling the sleepy Golden-Retriever into her arms. "IT'S SOOO CUTE!!! Oh Gregory!" Sharon stood up and ran into Gregory's arms, kissing him, causing 'ooohs' to come from the crowd, which also caused them to blush. "It's so cute Greg! I love her! And I love you.." Sharon kissed him, again causing everyone to giggle or , 'ooh' of 'aww'.
Misty looked at Sharon and Gregory as they kissed. Oh, how she wished that were her and Ash... Oh, how she wished ash loved her... And only her... Misty looked away from the happy couple, sad, she looked down and saw that she had completely forgotten about her present from ash.
Ash watched as she watched Sharon and Gregory kiss. She looked sad... ash watched as she turned away and looked at his present. His heart was beating fast. She was already reading the card. the moment of truth had finally come.
'I guess I'll read the card before actually opening the present...' thought Misty dully as she reached for the card.
It had a bear with a talking cloud on the front. It said:
I'm not send you a card cuz I happen to love birthdays...
Misty opened the card and her breath caught in her chest. She looked up at Ash who was also looking at her then back at the card again in disbelief. On the inside it said:
I'm sending you a card cuz I happen to LOVE you!
Hope your day is happy!
The word 'LOVE' was in big cold letters. Misty took deep breaths trying to stay calm. She couldn't so instead she busied herself with opening the present With careful precision of a surgeon she unwrapped the gift. She was left with a small box. She opened the box and inside was a gold locket. She opened it and a note fell out. She read it, surprised.
Misty, meet me in the gym so we can talk.
Misty looked up and saw ash was gone. She looked around and made sure that no one was watching her. everyone was either watching Sharon and her puppy or talking among each other.
She stood up and eased herself away from everyone. Misty hurried into the hallway and without looking back she went straight towards the kitchen where the gym and their house connected.
She opened the door near the counter and went through it. She was in a hallway. She could see all the Pokemon through glass windows. She kept going straight and then went to the right and then up some stairs, she ran up heart thumping. She reached the top and saw Ash sitting by the pool, watching her Dewgong swim.
Misty stepped tentatively towards him. ash must have heard her because he suddenly turned around. He stood up and grinned.
"hey Misty." he said.
"What do you wanna talk about?" asked Misty going nearer to him.
"I've wanted to say this for a long time Misty..."
