Jessie lay on her twin-sized bed, 2:00 AM, looking up at the cieling of her room. The walls had been recently been painted black, which resembled to her black heart. She, James and Meowth had spilt up and had left Team Rocket for good. Jessie was so sad and angry at herself and James. He had come up with the idea to separate...

"Stupid bastard..." she muttered. "I should have never agreed... And right before he left, he told me that he loved me... I acted like such an idiot... Thinking that he would stay with me. I thought he would... But he didn't..."

Jessie wiped away the tears angrily and stood up. She walked towards her open balcony. She stood there, leaning against the railing whispering, "I know it's stupid to wish this but... I wish that you're thinking of me too and thinking of coming back to me... James.."

"I wish with all my might that you'll come back to me but you never do..." she whispered crying. "And I still can't believe I cry over you... How can I love you after you left!?! You lied to me! That's what you did! I can't believe I still love you!" Jessie began to sob. Then she regained herself again. "I shouldn't lose hope though now should I? I should hope..."

Jessie remembered when James had told her that he loved her... She remembered oh-so well...

"Jessie... Well.... I've been meaning to tell you for a long time that..." James whsipered nervously.

They were standing in the middle of the intersection of the three paths. Meowth had already gone and they were just saying goodbye again. Jessie stood by James curiously. She didn't have any idea what he was talking about.

"What is it James?" asked Jessie.

"It's just... Well I might as well come out and say it..." he muttered smiling at her. "Jessie we've been partners for such a long time haven't we?"

"Four years I think...." Jessie replied. "But what does that have anything to do with this?"

"Well.... In those four years we've been together as partners in crime, I've noticed something..."

"What?" asked Jessie heart pounding.

"That... I... I... love... I love you..." he blurted out staring at his feet.

Jessie stood there shocked. She hadn't been expecting this. Not at all. Tears of happiness sprang to her eyes... But they only remained that way for a little while.

James closed his eyes and kissed her. The kiss was soft, gentle, tender but above all it was a prolonged kiss... James kissed her as long as he could without crying. But when he felt the tears on his cheeks run, he tore his lips away from her and ran down the path.

Jessie stood there shocked again. Tears began to form in her eyes again. But these were of sadness. She began to sob but as soon as she did she regreted it. She began to run down the other path. She soon reached the next city and once there she vowed angrily as the tears rolled down and over her cheeks, that she would never again cry for James.

"I'll never cry for you James! Never!!!!" She screamed."NEVER! I swear!!!"

"I don't know whether to hate you or not... but either way... I just can't stand myself... I can't believe that I didn't run after you or nothing!" Jessie whispered sad. "But still.... I can't help but love you..."

"When will I stop loving you?" Jessie asked sighing as she looked up into the moon. "I miss you James... How could you leave me after telling me how you truely felt? How? Are you afraid? I have to find you James... I just have to..."

***The Next Day***

Jessie walked around the city aimlessly. She didn't care where she was going. She had completely forgotten her promise she had made to herself the night before. She just walked around tired because of the lack of sleep she had gotten.

'Uh.... I'm so tired.... What the hell was I doing last night?' Jessie thought tiredly as she wandered into the park. 'What kept me awake? What the heck was I doing?' she asked herself racking her brains. She sat on a bench near her.'Oh.. now I remember...'

Jessie suddenly remembered what she had promised to herself and what had kept her awake.

'I promised to find James... I have to find him... I just have to!' Jessie thought determinedly looking at the ground. 'Well then I better start-'

"Jessie?" a male voice asked.

She looked up and her breath caught in her chest.

It was James. He had on a black jeans, a white shirt, a black jacket and a black hat. Jessie just stared up at him. She was shcoked. Utterly shocked. She couldn't belive that he was actually here!

"James?" she asked in a voice barely above a whisper.

"Yes, Jessie, it's me" James replied smiling. "I had to come. I needed your answer. I can't believe that I ran off without your answer."

"James..." Jessie whispered tears coming to her eyes.

"I know what you're gonna say." James closed his eyes and looked away. "You hate me don't you?"

"James-" Jessie started to say.

"No, don't say anything if it's that. Just don't. I wouldn't-"

"James I-"

"I couldn't bear witht he pain-"

"James I l-"

"It woudl hurt my heart-"

"JAMES!" Jessie nearly screamed.

"What?"

"I've been trying to tell you that I love you too." Jessie replied smiling.

"You-You do?" he asked

"Of course." Jessie stood up. "I've always loved you. When you told me I didn't have time to tell you because you ran off. I will always love you."

She kissed him. She canted her head deepening the kiss. Her tounge lingered over his as she waited for a response. He did, by running his tounge along hers. But soon Jessie stopped short.

"Say it." she demanded

"Huh?" he asked misunderstanding.

"Promise me you won't go away ever. I can't stand life without you. Promise me, James you won't ever leave me!" Jessie whispered hugging him close.

"I love you Jessie." he tipped her head up to his and looked down at her. "I won't ever go away. You can count on that."

Jessie smiled. James smiled back. They would always be together. He had promised, so Jessie never had to worry. She sighed. She would never lose him again. She and him were to be together...
