Chapter II: Eating habits.

A scream was heard through the surroundings, Stormy jerked his head.

‘That sounded like Evershine!’ he thought in panic, flying up into the air towards the sound.

Evershine was trembling, staring at the red liquid flowing on the crimson skin of the pokémon.

‘Is it dead?’ she thought, but then dismissed that thought, as she saw how it drew small breaths.

“Evershine!” she heard the worried voice of Stormy outside the bush.

Poking her head out she yelled, “I’m here!”

Stormy landed and said angrily; “Why did you scream?!”

“I saw this pokémon here and…” Evershine jumped out from the bush and Stormy saw the Eon.

“It looks like one of Eevee’s evolutions.” He commented, “But I’ve never seen one like this before, or in a shape like this.”

Suddenly, the Eon groaned and moved, the Pidgeottos jumped and turned to stare at it.

Every muscle and nerve told him to lay down and sleep again, but he had heard something, and he wanted to know what it was.

“Are you awake now?” startled he opened his emerald eyes, looking in the voice’s general direction.

“You aren’t going to eat us, are you?” a second voice asked.

Now he saw what they where, they where two Pidgeottos, and didn’t look like they would kill him.

Rather, they looked curious.

“Who are you?” the Eon whispered.

“I am Stormy, and this is Evershine.” The Eon recognised the voice as the one asking him if he was awake.

“Who are you?” Evershine asked, The Eon recognised her as the second voice.

“I don’t have a name.” He whispered, voice still raspy.

“Well, What are you then?” Stormy asked.

“I don’t know, but yesterday I was an Eevee.” The Eon said.

“What do you eat?” Evershine asked, looking at him worryingly.

“I’m sorry, but I don’t know.” Then it was too much for the Eon, and he fell unconscious again.

Evershine turned towards Stormy, “What does Eevee evolutions eat?”

“Flareons eat berries, Jolteons eat Stantlers, Umbreons eat Rattata, Vaporeons eat fish, and Espeons eat berries, eggs and Rattata.” Stormy answered, a little confused why she asked.

“I am going to hunt for him!” she said confidently.

“But you can’t even hunt for yourself!” Stormy said unbelievingly.

“Then I go for berries and eggs, and you hunt!” Evershine said.

“No way! We first see if he eats meat or grass or whatever.” Stormy said.

“How?” Evershine asked.

“Hold his lip so that I can see his teethes.” Stormy said, and Evershine did as she was told.

“He eats meat.” Stormy said.

“How did you know that?” Evershine asked.

“He has the fangs of a predator.” Stormy answered.

“So that means that I am the one to stay here and guard, right?” Evershine said.

“Yup!” Stormy took flight.

“If you leave me here alone for too long, I’ll have your head!!!!” Evershine yelled after him.

Stormy swooped down at an Rattata, but it got away.

“Damn! I guess being with Evershine has rubbed off on me.” Stormy said, taking to the air again.

This time he saw another prey, A Pikachu.

Pikachus usually aren’t out in the open like that, and Stormy guessed that it relied on it’s electric power.

“Rai!” Stormy immediately looked another way, as the Pikachu’s mother had come.

After some time he where growing frustrated, and now he didn’t even have much time left of the day, as the sunset coloured the heaven orange.

In his frustration, he swooped down at an Raticate, something Pidgeottos rarely does, as it’s fangs could immobilise them until a hunger death, or hunted death, came.

This Raticate seemed to know that too, so it didn’t react when the bird came closer.

And that was a deadly mistake.

Evershine looked up at the sky, seeing Stormy return, And she was boiling with anger.

“Where have you been?!” “How did you catch that?!” “I said to you to come back soon!!!!”

Not caring for what she said, Stormy gestured towards the Eon.

“Has he woken up when I was gone?” he asked.

“No.” was Evershine’s rather angry reply, “Have you an idea of how bored I was?!”

Stormy sighed.

“-bored I was?!” the Eon opened his eyes, looking around in confusion, when it all dawned on him.

Sniffling, he tried to hold back his tears, to no avail.

Evershine jumped and looked around, on the crying Eon.

Stormy, also looked at him, feeling uncomfortable, as he didn’t know what to do in this situations.

Suddenly, motherly feelings welled up inside Evershine, and she jumped over to the Eon.

“Don’t worry, everything’s fine, everything’s gonna be alright.” Evershine said in a soothing voice.
