Together Forever!
By Cheridan Brianna Nightwalker
Note: I've decided to give up on Danny and
Dustin, because I decided it was the stupidest thing I had ever written. This
new series is about two complete opposites who are best friends. They battle
their way to the top, solving the mysteries of Pokemon along the way. They also
solve other problems: romantic problems, family problems, you name it!
Well, enjoy!

"I brush against my freckles and I hate it so,
but life goes on and a heave a little sigh for you! It's heavy the love that I
have shared with, but it dissolved like it was just a sugar cube!"
May rubbed her forehead as her best friend
Sarai sang that stupid song at the top of lungs as they strolled down the dusty
road of Route 110.
"Now the little pain sitting in my has shrunk
to a little bit, really does hurt me now! Those silly horoscopes, I guess I
can't trust them after all!"
May put her hands over her ears.
Make it stop.
"If we could get further away, I wonder what
it would be like! YEAH!! I'd be so happy inside my heart!"
Sarai took a deep breath.
"All the memories I have are beautiful in my
mind, but they don't feed the hunger deep inside my soul, and tonight I thought
I'd be just sitting in my sorrow! And now I must wonder why what they really
mean to you! I just see it anymore!!!! I....just can't see it
anymore!!!!OOOOOWHOAOOOOOOO!!"
Sarai clapped her hands together. "I'm
finished!"
"Thank God! Where'd you hear that song
anyways?"
"My mom used to sing it to me all the time
when I was little," Sarai answered, looking at May with those green eyes that
stood out against her skin, which was a mix of black and white. "It was kinda
like a lullaby."
"That screeching was a lullaby?"
"It sounded better when she sang it. Hey,
there's Slateport! C'mon!!"
Sarai insisted on getting her brand new Mawile
a nickname.
She named it Katalin, and the Name Rater said
it would bring good fortune.
Sarai was stupid enough to believe
it.
"You hear that Katalin?" Sarai said to the
Mawile. "We're gonna have good fortune!"
May rolled her eyes. "That's just a bunch of
rubbish."
The two best friends left
the Name Rater's house.
"Where are we going now?" Sarai asked
her.
"I don't know. This place doesn't have a gym
leader," May said.
"It should," Sarai said. "Then it would be
more....interesting."
There was silence as they decided what to
do.
"I wish I was home right now," Sarai said
after a while.
"Why? You don't like traveling with
me?"
"No! But I've missed about 15 episodes of
Teenage Mutant Ninja Squirtles!"
And then (to May's dismay), Sarai started to
sing the theme song.
"Teenage Mutant Ninja Squirtles! Squirtles
count it off! One, two three, four! Squirtles! Mutant chain reaction! Squirtles!
Living underground! Squirtles! Ninjitsu action! Squirtles! It's a shell of a
tiiimeee!!"
May stepped further away.
"Squirtles count it off! One: live by the code
of the martial arts! Two: never fight unless someone else starts! Three: always
stick together no matter what! Four: if all else fails then it's time to kick
butt!"
Sarai took a deep breath. "I love bein' a....I
love bein' a...I love bein' a Squirtle! Teenage Mutant Ninja Squirtles!
Squirtles count it off! One, two, three, four! Squirtles! There's no one
better! Squirtles! Watch out for Shredder! Squirtles! They're like no other!
Squirtles! Those teenage brothas!!! One, two, three, four! One, two, three,
four! Teenage Mutant Ninja Squirtles!"
May sighed with relief as Sarai finished.
"Do you know her?"
May looked to her left and saw a boy with wild
brown hair that reminded her of a Sandslash and he was wearing
glasses.
"Kinda. She's my best friend."
She saw the look on the boy's
face.
"There's nothing wrong with her. She just
likes to sing."
"I can tell."
Sarai bounded up to them.
"May, are you ready? Huh?"
A red tinge appeared on Sarai's face when she
looked at the boy.
"Hi. My name's Dustin. Dustin
Ketchum."
Sarai smiled nervously, and squeaked,
"Hi."
"Hi. Um, anyway, do you guys know anyone named
Ash Ketchum?"
The girls shook their heads. "Sorry," May
said. "Wish we could help you."
Dustin just shrugged. "Okay. Thanks for your
help."
Dustin walked off, his head hung.
"I wish we could help him," Sarai said. "Maybe
this Ash is little his brother or something, and he lost him."
"Maybe. But he have other things to do. We
have to train for our battle against Wattson."
Sarai shook her head. "Let's rest. We only
just finished beating Brawly."
May sighed. "Whatever you say."
The next day...
Sarai and May rested on the beach, the wind
blowing their hair and...aw, forget it!
They were just looking for some trainers to
beat.
"All of these kids are weak!" May
shouted.
"May, they're only beginning. You can't win by
picking out the weakest," Sarai said.
May nodded. "You're right. Let's find Dustin.
Maybe he's stronger."
As Sarai and May headed for the city, a boy
with a somewhat raspy voice and a Pikachu by his side stopped him.
"Hi! Do you know someone named
Dustin?"
Sarai nodded before May could shake her head.
"We do! We just don't know where he is."
The boy nodded. "Could you tell him that Ash
is looking for him? I'm...I'm his long lost brother."
Sarai felt a tear come to her
eye.
It was like a soap opera.
"We'll find him for you! Family should be
reunited!"
She started to sing.
"Reunited and it feels so
good...."
May covered her mouth with her hand. "Excuse
her. She loves to sing. We'll help you find your brother."
Ash was accompanied not only by his Pikachu,
but by a girl with red hair in a ponytail, A Togepi, and a man who undoubtedly
used to be the gym leader of the Pewter City Gym in the Kanto
Region.
"How long have you been friends?" asked the
girl, named Misty.
"For a long time," Sarai answered. "We've been
best friends for the longest time!"
"Whoa. How long?"
Sarai shrugged. "I guess
since..."
"Ten years, Sarai," May said.
"Yeah! Ten! Pretty long, huh?"
Their search led them to a theater on Route
110, the route that led to Mauville City.
On a stage in the theater was Dustin, playing
a slow elegy on the piano.
Next to him was a Bagon, its eyes closed,
listening to the music.
"Dustin!" Sarai shouted.
"Dustin!"
Dustin stopped and turned to look at her.
"Where did you guys come from?" he asked, stepping off the stage, the Bagon
following him.
"Look who we found," Sarai said. "Look
familiar?"
Dustin stared at him closely.
Ash stared back.
"Who's your mom?" Dustin asked
him.
"Delia Ketchum. Yours?"
"Don't have one. Who's your
dad?"
"I never had one. Who's yours?"
"David Ketchum. He's your dad, and
mine."
They stood, staring at each other for while,
before bursting out laughing.
"Yep, they're related," Brock
said.
Pikachu agreed.
Sarai started to laugh too, although she
didn't know what was so funny.
"You have to come meet him!" Dustin said
excitedly. "He's waited a long time!"
Dustin took them to a large
mansion.
It reminded Ash of James' home when they had
to help keep him from Jessebelle.
"Dad!!" Dustin shouted, his voice echoing
throughout the huge mansion. "Are you home?"
After a while, a Camerupt came lumbering down
the stairs. It jerked its head upstairs.
"Thanks Camerupt," Dustin said, patting him on
the head. "C'mon."
Ash's stomach was filled with
Butterfree.
He would finally meet his father, for the
first time.
Would he like him, or would he turn away and
reject him, like he did so many years ago?
Dustin opened the door to the
office.
"Dad?"
Working at a desk was a young man with wild
black hair, a Sneasel sitting on top of a pile of papers.
"Uh, dad?" Dustin said.
"Yeah, Dust?"
His voice was even raspy.
He's definitely my dad.
"There's someone here to see
you."
"Who is it?"
Ash stepped forward. "It's me."
David wheeled around and faced his
son.
There was an eerie silence in the room, like
it was before the black guy got killed first in a horror movie.
Sarai started to whimper, until she finally
started to bawl.
"This is so happy!!" she cried. "Father and
son! Reunited!"
May grabbed her shoulders. "Uh, excuse
us."
She dragged her out of the room, Misty and Brock following.
May shut up Sarai by offering her a Lava
Cookie.
"Very melodramatic, aren't ya?" Misty
said.
Sarai wiped her eyes. "Very."
"No, Sarai! We're going!"
Sarai waved
good-bye to Ash and Co.
"We'll meet again!" she cried. "May God be
with you! Bye!!"
May finally got her to the entrance to Cycling
Road.
"Sarai, you're some type of
crazy."
Sarai smiled slyly. "I know. Isn't it grand?
Isn't it great? Isn't it swell, isn't it?"
May rolled her eyes.
She went straight from talking to
singing.
"Together forever! You'll be in my heart, and
now we'll be...c'mon, May! Sing with me!"
May smiled.
"Fine."
"Together, forever! You'll be in my heart, and
now we'll be together forever! When we are apart...."
