Part 1: Reunions

The bell rang. Misty quickly ran to her locker to drop off her books. She was in a hurry to go and meet her friends in the parking lot. She sighed. The first day of school, just an average, boring day at Pallet High. (A/N: In this fic, Ash and the gang all went on their separate journeys and came back to Pallet Town to go to high school.) In her haste, she accidentally ran into another student.

"Oh, I'm so sorry, I wasn't looking where I was...." She stopped in mid-sentence. There, right in front of her, was the boy of her dreams, Ash Ketchum.

"S'ok, I don't mind. Here, I'll help you pick up your books," he answered with a friendly grin on his face. They both picked up the books, and on the last book the two teens reached for it at the same time, causing their hands to touch the other's. Misty blushed and immediately grabbed the book.

"Boy, you sure have gotten cute," complimented Ash. Misty blushed even deeper.

"Thanks," she told Ash.

"No problem, always a pleasure to serve a popular girl like you," Ash said with a grin. Misty blushed even more (if possible) and hurried away.

"Bye," she called over her shoulder.

"See ya," she heard Ash call back.

Finally, she reached her locker. She dumped in her books and closed her locker, running to the parking lot at full speed.

Misty opened the doors, and she saw her friends gathered at the curb. She sprinted over to them. One of her friends turned around.

"Hey Misty, what took you so long?" Duplica asked her. The two other girls also turned around.

"Sorry I'm late guys, it's just that I ran into Ash Ketchum!" Misty exclaimed. The rest of the girls squealed.

"You mean the Ash Ketchum?" Laselle asked with enthusiasm in her voice.

"Duh, of course she meant Ash Ketchum, there's only one Ash that Misty knows!" Melody replied, with a tone that said 'who else?'

Laselle ignored the her and said, "Ash is the most popular guy in the whole school, and he and his friends are the best trainers in the whole town, except for Brock." She said the last boy's name with a hint of disgust. "Brock is ok at battling, it's just that he is really goofy AND annoying when he sees like just about every pretty girl he meets!" The rest of the girls giggled. 'Then again, he is kinda cute,' Laselle thought to herself.

"So, why did you run into him anyways?" Melody asked.

"I was running very fast, trying to get here on time, when I bumped into him. He helped me pick up my books and we touched hands. He even said I was popular!" Misty squealed.

"Oh please, Misty, come to your senses. Everyone knows that we arethe most popular girls in school," said Laselle.

"I can't help it, I've had a major crush on him since kindergarten! Besides, he has gotten totally hot over the summer!" Misty exclaimed. Duplica sighed.

"Calm down Misty. Well I gotta go home guys, so bye!" Duplica yelled before leaving.

"Come to think of it, we all need to go home, too," Melody reminded them. The 3 girls said good-bye and left. For Misty, today was the first time the first day of school has been special to her.

"Hey Ash, hurry up!" Brock called. The group of boys were heading to Richie's house to work on a project together.

"Coming!" Ash replied. Richie noticed the absence of Ash's usual mindless talking.

Richie slapped him on the shoulder. "What's up?" he asked his best friend.

"Oh, just frustrated that we got a project on the first day of school," he lied. Ash was never a good liar, and Richie picked up on this quickly.

"I know! He's still thinking about that incident with Misty! He's had a crush on her since Kindergarten, you know," Richie exclaimed. Ash turned red.

"You know, come to think of it, you acted your normal self while she kept on blushing," Brock said thoughtfully. 'I wonder why I didn't go gaga over her,' he asked himself. 'Oh well, who cares.'

"She never blushed!" Ash said.

"Oh yes she did, old buddy," Gary said, "You were just too busy looking at other places!" Everyone but Ash laughed.

"Shut up," Ash spat out.

"Calm down, Ashy-boy" Gary teased.

"Can we just get of this subject?" Ash asked.

"Sure, sure, whatever you say, lover boy," Brock said in a sing-song voice.

WHUMP!

Brock was lying on the ground, still recovering from Ash's blow on the back of his head. Floating around his head were Nurse Joys.

"Oh Nurse Joy, you are so pretty. Will you go out with me?" Brock said in his annoying ga-ga mode.

"And I thought you were the love master," Ash muttered.

A/N: Well this part was short since it's the beginning hope it's good so far! Well bye! ~e-mail: bladestorm56@comcast.net
