CHAPTER 10
BATTLE AGAINST KOGA'S DAUGHTER
"Hmm…" Kamon said. "Against his daughter, eh? Well, I'll show her how I beat her father; by beating her the same way." Kamon grinned. He knew he was going to win. He had never lost a gym battle. In fact, he had only lost two battles so far; one against Lance and the other against Drew. Apparently Drew was a lot stronger than him, because he defeated Lance no problem. Kamon hoped that, in order to face-off against Ash, he wouldn't have to fight Drew. Drew's Ho-oh alone was hard enough. Kamon walked into the gym. There was a sign next to a statue that said in nice, big, bold letters: "DON'T PANIC!" The sign went on to say: "Yes, those are invisible walls, and they will hurt you if you run into them, so look where your going and watch out for them!!" Kamon found this quite odd, mostly because it told you to watch out for invisible walls, which is quite hard to do because they are invisible. Kamon had little difficulty, however, because he just had his Typhlosion blow fire at where he thought an invisible wall would be, and therefore displayed where Kamon could walk. Of course, he burnt several trainers there, but they didn't seem to mind after Kamon defeated them rather easily with his Umbreon's Psychic. After 15 minutes, he finally reached Janine though, and they started the battle immediately.
"I'm warning you Janine, I'm good," said Kamon with a grin.
"You must be if you defeated my father. However, I have been trained to become more powerful than he is. I inhereted his old Golbat and Beedrill. Are you ready? Go, Weezing!" She threw a Pokéball into the arena, and the purple multi-headed Pokémon emanated.
Janine was dressed in a loose pink outfit; a pink shirt tucked into pink pants. She also had a white long-sleeved undershirt on. Her black hair has tied back into a ponytail, with small curls of it hanging in front of her ear and a couple of bangs in front of her forehead.
"Ha, go, Typhlosion! Use Fire Spin, and then follow up with a Flamethrower!" The flames that came from Typhlosion's mouth surrounded Weezing, making him unable to attack. Typhlosion then went on all fours and blew flames toward it, doing a very large amount of damage.
"Weezing, Explosion!" Janine said. She tucked a curl of her black hair behind her ear. Weezing exploded, sending all of the flames out in every direction. Typhlosion's attacks were practically reversed back at him, but did not K.O. him. "Weezing, come back. Golbat, it's your turn!" She threw another Pokéball into the amphitheater, and from the shimmering white light emerged the blue bat. "Golbat, Razor Wind!" Golbat created a whirlwind, and then launched it at Typhlosion. The attack started slicing through Typhlosion, and knocked it out easily.
"Come back, Typhlosion! As my next Pokémon I'm choosing Corsola! Use your Aurora Beam attack!" said Kamon. A multicolored beam was launched at Golbat, doing quite some damage. "Now, Psychic!" Kamon yelled.
"Not so fast! Golbat, Steel Wing attack!" said Janine. Golbat struck Corsola with his iron-hard wings, just to have Corsola counter-attack with the Psychic-type attack, knocking it out. "Golbat, return," Janine said, as Golbat was summoned back into the Pokéball by the red light. Janine then threw a yellow and red Pokéball, a Fast Ball, into the stadium, and fom it came a Beedrill, a yellow and black bee-type of Pokémon with three large stingers; on on its abdomen and one on each of its forearms.
"Corsola, Waterfall!" Kamon commanded. Water came from underneath Corsola and then slammed on top of Beedrill.
"Beedrill, Twin Needle attack!" Beedrill jabbed at Corsola with his barbs, and poisoned Corsola. "Now, Agility, a Quick Attack, and then an Exteme Speed!" Beedril flew around the room at top speed, disappearing every so often a reappearing somewhere else. Then, Beedrill slammed into Corsola, knocking her into a wall. "Good. Now, Double Team!" Beedrill made clones of itself; all of which were zooming around the room at top speed.
"Corsola, Swift! Make sure that it hits!" Swift, a move that has 100% accuracy, was sure to hit Beedrill. Corsola shot stars out, which flew out in the direction of the real Beedrill. All of the others disappeared at once, and the only one left, the true Beedrill, was stunned for a second. "Now, Hydro Pump!" said Kamon. The blast of water slammed Beedrill into a wall, knocking it out, but at the same time Corsola was K.O.-ed because of poison. "Come back, Corsola. Now, Delibird, go!"
Janine said, while throwing another Pokéball into the arena, "Yanma, it's your turn! Use Toxic, and then Sonicboom!" Yanma, a dragonfly sort of Pokémon that looks like it could be closely related to a Caterpie, spat liquid poison at Delibird, greatly poisoning it, and then blasted a shockwave of air at Delibird. It did, however mediocre damage.
"Delibird, Ice Beam attack!" said Kamon. The attack almost kncoed out Yanma in one hit.
"Yanma, Wing Attack!" Yanma charged at Delibird and then thrusted its wings at him, doing quite some damage.
"Finish it! Icy Wind!" Kamon yelled. Delibird flapped his wings, and then launched freezing wind at Yanma, knocking it out.
"No! Yanma, return. Venomoth, go! Use Psychic!" The familiar Pokémon Venomoth glowed blue, and then hit Delibird with the telepathic blast of energy.
"Delibird, Blizzard, now!" Kamon yelled. Delibird sent a hailstorm at Venomoth, freezing it.
"Again! Darn it, return. Ariados, come out! Use Sludge Bomb!" Ariados launched a ball of poisonous muck at Delibird, critical hit. Delibird, however, was not knocked out.
"Delibird, Wing Attack!" Delibird dove at Ariados, and then struck it with his wings. Ariados came right back with, however, with Psychic at Janine's command, knocking out Delibird. "Delibird," said Kamon, "return. Now, Umbreon, go! Psychic, now!" The battle of Psychic-type attacks continued, although this was supposed to be a poison gym. Ariados's second type, Poison, was effected by Umbreon's Psychic greatly, and was K.O.
"My last Pokémon…return. Well, Kamon, I can see why father was beaten. You are remarkably strong. Here, take the Soul Badge." Janine handed Kamon the circular badge, and directed Kamon toward the exit. Kamon forgot, however, that there were invisible walls, and walked into quite a few until he finally made it out.
