Part 2
All: Huh?
Alec: What’s going on, Arcanine?
Bla: I think Arcanine has found something.
Alec climbed down to where Arcanine is pointing at something, which appears to be a hole in a wall.
Alec: I think it’s a cave. Give me a fireproof suit, guys. I’m going
in.
Bla: I’m coming with you and Magmar can flash our way.
“ Mag maaar (No problem.)
Alec and Blaine put on the suits and walked deep into the cave with Magmar leading their way. They trod very carefully, using their helmet microphones and walkie-talkies to make contact with the surface.
Bla: How long do you think this tunnel is?
Alec: Did you hear Blaine’s question up there?
“ Yes, yes…shhh….it’s around 400-500m long, but it seems to end in a huge cave…shhh…it’s only straight ahead…shhh…”
Dennis said through his Walkie-talkie as he watched Akira’s laptop, which displayed their movements on an underground map from the ground radar mechanism.
Alec: Everything is normal, nothing has changed. We’ll continue
walking.
Blain nodded in agreement and they started walking deeper into the tunnel.
On they way down, Magmar suddenly stopped and turned around. He seemed confused.
Alec: What’s wrong with your Magmar, Blaine?
Bla: I don’t…
“ Mag mar magmar mag.” (The temperature has dropped.)
But still Blaine and Alec didn’t quite understand him.
How is it possible for a pokemon to speak in the human language when they never have done so before?
“Mag marmar.” (It’s strange.)
When Blaine noticed Magmar’s body flames die down, he began to take off his helmet.
Alec: Stop! Stop it, Blaine! The temperature here-
Bla: Is fine… its’ barely hot here.
Alec: Huh?
He said also taking off his helmet.
Alec: But how can it be? The temperature here should be over
2,300 C!
“ Hey! What’s going on down there?…shhh… Is everyone okay?” Alec: Yes, Dennis. Did the scanner show anything?
“No…ssshhhh…. Just you two guys and a pokemon who stopped
and only god knows why!…shhh….”
Alec: You won’t believe this, Akira but the temperature here is not
even 37Cº!
“ You can’t be serious!...ssshhhh… Bring some samples up here…sssshhh… Blaine, are you sure Team Rocket has only been in your gym?”
Bla: Yes, I think so. But I don’t know if they found and used my secret path to get there. Maybe they dug their way up from here.
Alec: It could be, but check where the tunnel ends just to be sure.
He said as he finished collecting few stones and put the last tub in his specimen box.
Alec: Maybe there is an underground river.
“Mar mag! (Over here!)
Blaine and Alec turned to see Magmar pointing at something, so they ran over to him.
An amber light seemed to be glowing at the end of the tunnel. When they got there, they couldn’t believe in their eyes.
Bla: It’s amazing…
Alec: It’s impossible…
“ Maaarr… (Wow…)
All three stood there and stared in disbelief at the cavern’s entrance, from where the light was emanating.
The insides of the cave were covered in thick crystal.
Through its transparent crystal walls, the lava could be seen as it flowed behind them. That explains from where the golden glow came from. This cave had been made for a reason and Alec looked around for evidence as to how this mysterious cavern was created and how it managed to avoid the surrounding high temperature.
Blaine and Magmar walked and looked in amazement at a huge ebony statue.
It looked powerful and terrifying.
Bla: Lucky for us it’s only a statue right, Magmar?
“Mag” (Yes.)
Blaine noticed a strange sphere in front of the statue.
Alec: You won’t believe this. But this crystal was made by ice.
Clear pure crystal ice.
Bla: In a volcano?!
Alec: Weird isn’t it? What have you found?
Bla: There’s nothing here, except for this statue.
Alec: What’s this?
He said picking up the strange dusty sphere in his hand. He looked at it curiously and rubbed it on his sleeve.
It was stunning; the upper half was made of ruby, while the lower half was made of smooth black stone.
There were also strange hieroglyphics etched around it.
Alec: We should take this with us. Maybe it will explain this
mysterious cave.
However, what they didn’t notice as the exited the cave, was the movement of the statue’s eyes, which now opened and glittered their evil, green light.
As soon as the group had left, a low eerie laugh echoed throughout the cave.
