Ban of friends chapter 4
Please review
Ash looked at his mother.
“Ash your mother is right” Professor Oak added.
“Fine” he muttered, turning around and walking towards a chair by the window.
He avoided eye- contact with his “friends”.
Gary followed him with his eyes. Misty on the other hand refused to look at
him.
“As I was saying before. We brought you three here so we can figure out what’s
wrong with you. It is obvious that three years of bottling up emotions has
really done a lot of damage”
“Nothing’s wrong with me professor” Ash let out, looking out of the window.
“Really, then why didn’t you visit your mother more often, why didn’t you visit
your friends. Ash, it’s gotten so bad, that you can’t even look at them!!”
The professor pointed in Gary and Misty’s direction.
Ash shrugged.
“Delia and I have decided to let you and Misty stay here. We think it would be
better to sort out your feelings together”
“Wait a minute you told me they were coming here for a talk…you never said they
were staying”
“Gary, it’s for your own good. Please don’t argue!!”
“I can’t stay here I have a congress to attend and meetings” said Ash, looking
at the professor.
“Ash I’m sure they’ll understand…just tell them you need a vacation”
“Don’t you have anything to say about this” Gary snarled in Misty’s direction.
“I kinda already knew” Misty muttered. “Cause I brought, my stuff along”
“She knew before I did!”
“Gary don’t make such a big deal out off this” Delia pleaded
“Don’t make such a little deal out of this” he spat back.
“Watch your tone, young man!!” Professor Oak whispered dangerously.
Gary bit his lip in fury and fell silent.
“Well that’s settled then. Gary why don’t you show our guests their rooms” the
professor said, smiling triumphantly.
“O and lunch will be served in an hour. I suggest you wear something nice”
added Delia, winking at Misty.
“I’m sorry, but if you mean a dress…I don’t own one” Misty muttered.
“Oh don’t worry just wear the nicest thing you’ve got…… sweety I’ll be in the
kitchen if you need me”
Ash grunted in response.
And with that she and Professor Oak left for the kitchen.
Misty turned her face sideways to observe the boy staring out of the window.
He was very handsome indeed. He too had grown over the years. His hair was
slightly shorter, but still as messy as ever. Unlike Gary’s his skin was nice
and tanned.
Gary looked at Ash and then at the staring girl.
“Tshhh” he muttered.
That made Ash snap out of thought and look at them.
He let his eyes wander over Gary and then Misty.
They on their turn stared at him, daring him to say something about their
appearance.
And so he did.
“You guys look … uhm different” he started
This time it was Misty’s turn to tut.
“You wouldn’t even look at us before. Now you’re judging us like we’re in some
kind of beauty pageant?!” Gary muttered. “Sorry, not all of us have the money
for spa’s Mr. Pokemon master.”
“I didn’t mean it like that, Gary”
“Yeah right” he muttered in response.
Ash glared at him with murderous eyes. He then let his eyes wander over to
Misty, who was still looking at him.
“So you’re one off those gothic people, now?”
“You know what, Ketchum? Why don’t you go back to that rich shit hole you came
from!!” Misty muttered in response.
“Do you think my life is all luxury. I have as much problems as you do.”
“Yeah right, Ash. You have a mom who would give you the world if she could and
yet you keep avoiding her. I would give anything to have somebody, who doesn’t
abandon me whenever things get rough!!” Misty croaked out.
Gary nodded in agreement. He felt exactly the way she did, when his parents
dropped him off at his grandfather’s house.
Ash looked at the sad girl in front of him. He was sure that under all that
dark make-up was a beautiful face. Her hair had grown longer and she held it in
to a loose ponytail.
Misty felt him looking at her , but avoided eye- contact.
“Stop looking at me” she yelled. “I don’t like it when people look at me”
“Why not?” asked Ash.
“I just don’t”
Ash looked at her like she was crazy person.
“Gary, can you please show me to my room. I need to be alone” she asked holding
back tears.
Gary didn’t argue and nodded.
She stood up to get her bag. “Don’t worry. I’ll get that for you” he whispered.
Misty looked up in to his eyes. They were full of sympathy.
“Thanks” she muttered looking at the ground.
And without even throwing Ash a second glance, they walked up the stairs out of
eyes reach.
Ash silently cursed at himself for looking bad in front of Misty and was
jealous of the way Misty looked at Gary just then.
“What do you care, she’s as fucked up as he is. They can have each other……”
Misty looked at Gary in sympathy, as they made their way up the steep stairs.
Although he was well build he looked like he was going to keel over by the
weight of the bag.
She was right though he had grown a lot.
“Here we go” he whispered, turning the doorknob of a wooden door.
He dragged Misty’s bag inside, motioning for her to follow him. She looked at
the cozy bed in the corner and the huge closet in the other one.
“Hope you like it” he muttered, throwing her a small smile.
Misty didn’t return the smile and looked anywhere, but at him.
“Gary could you please leave. I can’t really see you right now. It’s all too
much” she whispered looking out of the window.
Gary’s smile faded and was replaced by a grimace.
“Sorry for trying to be a little nice to you. Thought you could at least say
thank you after I welcomed you in to my home. You’re such an ungrateful
bitch!!”
“No Gary wait I didn’t mean it like…”
Gary walked out of the room slamming the door shut.
“O god” Misty let out, screwing her face up in sadness. “How am I going to
survive this?”
She fell on her bed and sobbed in her pillow.
Gary rested his head on the hard wood, at the other side of the door.
“You are such a prick,” he thought. “It’s just like you, to chase people away”
He put his hand on the doorknob, wanting to go back inside and apologize to
Misty.
“Screw her” he whispered, letting go of it.
He walked down the stairs and in to the living room.
“What happened” Ash asked, having heard him scream.
“Mind your own fucking business”
